OT: He played this just right, lol. Got a #1 hit on pop radio even tho it is a country song. Country tried to stop his progress because of his race, and tried their best to only acknowledge Billy Ray Cyrus. But little did they know. HA This is so sweet! www.vibe.com/2019/07/lil-nas-x-identifies-as-gay-and-scores-third-platinum-plaque-for-old-town-roadLil Nas X Identifies As Gay And Scores Third Platinum Plaque For "Old Town Road" Lil Nas X continues to live his best life with no boundaries. Yes, Adam is very lucky. And he hat at least one more big run with Queen this summer and next year. With maybe more tours to come, but who knows? It's up to Brian and Roger. And I have to believe that Adam makes more than $50,000 per show. At any rate, QAL has been very good for him financially. And his solo career is quite fine, too. When QAL is finally done, he will be fine.
Just watched that YouTubeSpaceNY interview that was posted on yesterday's thread. I responded there but will again here.
That interview contains every element of why I love Adam so much. Intelligence, wit, humor, timing, beauty and poise.
I imagined this same interview being held on COLBERT, KIMMEL, FALLON and any of the other late-night biggies, with Adam saying exactly the same things. He is SUCH an entertaining guest!!! A delight to watch and a delight to listen to. I hope he cracks that "late night" barrier at some point. The man isn't afraid to talk (LOL) and his opinions are well-stated. And he's quick on the up-take with a joke. I've seen a million late-night guests and he could hold his own with the best of them. What an engaging personality!

brianmayforreal www.instagram.com/p/BzYlDw4Be_r/?igshid=l0szsln5t5ot brianmayforreal Waiting for my dragonfly. This gives me peace. But only for a moment. Today is Day 2 of Production Rehearsals. Obviously it would be foolish to give details away, but our new set is the most STUPENDOUS rig I have ever seen. It was a tough decision to break up the set we toured with last year -definitely the greatest production we’d ever put together. But it was the right decision. This transformational rig will blow your minds - I promise ! And, with a few new twists, the music shouldn’t be too bad either !!! Bri

Adam Lambert Just Lightly Trashed Madonna’s Music– And I’m Like, How Dare He?! Best known for a television talent show, and for singing Queen covers to geriatrics at the Oscars, Adam Lambert has now lightly insulted the Queen of Pop. In an interview with The Independent, Lambert says Madonna is one of his idols, but questions if the flack she gets these days has anything to do with her being a sexualized 60-year-old, or her larger-than-life personality: ‘’I’m a long-time Madonna fan for sure – but here’s my question: does she? Or is she getting a pushback because of the music she’s making?’‘ ”I love that she reinvents herself. I love her, and I think she’s brilliant. And I do think she’s pissed upon a bit, but I don’t think it’s because she’s a strong sexual woman.” ‘‘I think it’s because she’s making the music of 2019 that doesn’t fall quite in line with her legacy, perhaps.” Look, Madame X is far from a perfect record, but it’s definitely a good one, sometimes downright brilliant. Songs like “Medellín” and “Crazy” are probably as good or better than anything Lambert has done or ever will do. He’s a singer with a few albums under his belt, and he didn’t write or co-write a big chunk of the songs on his records. This criticism of Madonna, even softened with qualifiers like “I love her,” “She’s an icon OMG” and stuff like that, is misjudged, disproportionate, and tacky. Right now, his most popular gig is with Queen: for all intents and purposes, a cover band. Madonna’s pop-music legacy, on the other hand, is all but unmatched. Her new record is experimental, risky, critically flawed in short measures, and mostly quite good. She has a writing credit on every song, as has been the case for most of her career. And of course some of the criticism she gets is because she’s a sexualized 60-year-old woman. It isn’t fair for a younger man to comment on that. instinctmagazine.com/adam-lambert-just-lightly-trashed-madonnas-music-and-im-like-how-dare-he/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

HAPPY CANADA DAY to all Canadian Atopers! I know there are quite a few of us here. Thanks, right back at ya. When I was growing up in Toronto it was called Dominion Day. Still can't get used to the change but whatever.
