Have to say I miss the good old days when listening to music was a joy, and not a chore and a full-time job.
Same.
I'm just excited that the tour starts on Wednesday, can't really be bothered with anything else right now.

Gonna stream a lot today. Got inspired! I just hate that the music industry has come to this. It's a system that not only expects fans to purchase a song or an album. That makes sense. But it now expects them to continue to invest time and effort in streaming and viewing over a long period of time, a practice which has become the current way to measure an artist's worth and ultimate success. This is not the way it was meant to be, IMO.

skaschep, It's true that the fans of the artists at the top do LOTS of streaming, viewing, retweeting, etc. But there were probably more of them in the fan base from the beginning. And the age demographic makes a big difference, too. Adam has fans of all ages, but he is not a teen heartthrob.
I hate what social media has done to supporting an artist. But it's the reality we have. I do my best to stream each day when I'm home. And view, etc. I know every little bit helps, but it's very frustrating. We want a solo tour to happen, and that takes a lot of effort on our part. That's just the reality of it all.

Adam looks so young in the Trespassing video! My niece and I were watching music videos on the 4th. She is the obsessed B T S fan. To me, they looked like 7 dancing Beatles but she said they are very engaged with their fans. I think one of the highest videos was a non singing one of them playing with puppies. Many millions of views. Maybe Adam should shoot a video with Pharaoh.

I must say that the last conversation on yesterday's thread was quite a downer. I know we loyal fans are streaming, viewing, etc. all we can. We all have real lives, too. Adam's fans are so loyal. There just aren't enough of us. Growing the fan base is a real uphill battle. Thanks for posting the "platforms" link. Very interesting. We all want a solo tour. So does Adam. Keep streaming. Just my thoughts and I agree he does need more followers. f I had to make a guess at why Adam isn't as successful as a solo artist as some I'd say it's that he's too nice, he doesn't have that killer instinct of walking over people to get where he want's and using people to further his career and he's always promoting other people even when very few return the favour. The very thing we all love so much about him is likely one of the things that holds him back somewhat from major success but with that said he's had so many full circle moments and weird things that just happened (like choosing to go on Idol and sing Bo Rhap and ending up singing with Queen) that I honestly believe it's a timing thing and that it will happen for him when the time's right. I really believe his work ethic and just being that type of person he is will be the thing that works for him in the end so I'm not gonna stress over things, he's very successful in lots of ways and he has a lot of credibility for his talent so I believe it's just a matter of time. It is frustrating when he doesn't get the success we think he deserves but he's having a way better career than a lot of people (partly down to the QAL collab) and in ten years he's gone from appearing on Idol to touring the world several times with Queen, being asked to appear on high profile events and the voice of a major character in a movie etc. A lot of people on those shows just disappear, Adam's liked and respected in the industry from what I can tell and that will go a long way when the QAL thing eventually ends and he has more time to devote to solo projects. I don’t know what’s keeping Adam from having major success besides lack of mainstream publicity. I pretty much never see anything about him on major news sites. I know many articles are posted here, but a lot of them seem to be from entertainment blogs most people who aren’t already fans probably don’t see. I do reject the the idea that being “too nice”,” not “walking over people,” and “always promoting other people” keep him from achieving success. That’s like saying he needs to be nasty and cut-throat. It isn’t a war. Though I suppose a dumb, contrived “feud” like others seem to have would garner some publicity. It probably wouldn’t make more people like him!

I think the fact that Adam has fans of all ages, and (let's face it) many older fans does affect his streaming numbers. I have tried to encourage people to use Spotify or Apple music, but most people I know are resistant to paying for a streaming service, so they will listen to their radio with more ads than music (which I can't stand) or they use youtube or sometimes pandora for their music discovery.
