I think he could have "taken over the world" if his own musical tastes had been different. He tends to go against the grain a bit. Or better, his own taste in music is rather "eclectic". Let's all try to remember the immense response to "Believe". That's his strong suit. I think you and I are saying exactly the same thing... Yup

I can think of a few reasons why the "taking over the world" didn't happen. As a fan, I have accepted that and am grateful for the career he does have. And I'm glad he is not a starving artist and is doing just fine financially! I really, really hope he can do his own tour though, so am keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you skaschep for the streaming info. I find Youtubing easier, so I will definitely make a point of Spotifying more! Good perspective I can think of "a few reasons" too, but they mostly fall into the same category of Adam's artistic vision being rather "eclectic".

It’s been a couple of years since I’ve stopped believing that Adam will “take over the world” and started believing that he is a true “niche” artist, with smallish but very faithful following... he is not going to appeal to the kpop crowd or the rap crowd or any of the ones that generate literally billions of streams, either organically or by bot streaming to start their artists up... radio imo is not going to be on board especially now when the majority of the stations are in the hands of super conservative conglomerates...all IMO ! I want the solo tour... but we won’t even see the full album until some time in 2020! So I am gearing up for 2020 to be a full QAL year... anything else will be a pleasant bonus! I think he could have "taken over the world" if his own musical tastes had been different. He tends to go against the grain a bit. Or better, his own taste in music is rather "eclectic". Let's all try to remember the immense response to "Believe". That's his strong suit. Agree with this. His covers absolutely blow me away, each and every time. My musical tastes tend to be eclectic also, for the most part...or I should say varied. Rufus Wainwright resides in my playlist along with Rascal Flatts and Andrea Bocelli. But I don't appear to be a fan on 70's music lol. My very favorite Adam album remains FYE...loved every single song.
