I must say that the last conversation on yesterday's thread was quite a downer. I know we loyal fans are streaming, viewing, etc. all we can. We all have real lives, too. Adam's fans are so loyal. There just aren't enough of us. Growing the fan base is a real uphill battle. Thanks for posting the "platforms" link. Very interesting. We all want a solo tour. So does Adam. Keep streaming. I too would like to thank skaschep for her dedication to Adam and his fandom, and for keeping it real. I will continue to stream, view, and ... click, click, click to keep Adam's name in the game.

This whole discussion has calmed me down a bit. I know I'm not alone in my frustration. But I'm also not alone in my dedication as a fan. I plan on following Adam for the long haul. I think he will leave a significant mark in the music world and it will be a positive mark. Bottom line, he is a quality human being with a voice that far exceeds most others in all ways.
The music business is another thing altogether. It's dirty and unfair and imbalanced and cutthroat and often controlled by soul-less digital data that can't carry a tune in a bucket. At least Adam is far more in control of his own work than he was before. His decisions are his own regardless of the outcome.
I have no doubt that Adam will be around for a long time, keeping his hand in crating and performing music, new and old. And if he's lucky (and if WE are luck) he will also find a good place beyond just singing. He's not a generic pop star, that's for sure. We knew this would be a bumpy ride. And it is. Now, I'm going to go stream a bit.

You are all very welcome! And I'm really not trying to offend anyone. I just believe that as a fandom we can do a little better to support Adam. As there are more people reading here than just the regular posters I hope I can add a little to that.

At first I was a little downhearted by the discussion of why Adam hasn't taken over the world, but the more I read and thought, I changed my mind. Like others I let go of the superstardom concept a while back with the result that I have enjoyed his music more without as much anxiety. I approach his music with the thought of 'what is Adam trying to tell me'; sometimes I think I know and agree and at others ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But I enjoy following so much as a person, that it is all worth it. I do have a couple of thoughts on his past and current music. He has not really completely done the big voice thing since FYE. That music is great, but it is mostly music written by other people and Adam always does other people's music so well, plus it was what was expected of him post-Idol. In Trespassing, he started exploring more of what he liked but was summarily shutdown by the record label for the promotion of the album. For TOH, he in some ways threw up his hands and gave himself over to the pop masters with mixed success (Ghosttown aside). Anyway, before this gets too long here are two of my thoughts on Velvet and one other random thought: 1) With Velvet he is finally getting to completely explore and try to re-imagine the sounds and influences from his youth - yes that means Prince, Madonna, MJ, et al with falsetto and a taste of R&B. These and not his parents rock music are his first influences, these are the songs he shared with his friends. When I heard New Eyes, I just knew that was where we were going and CIH further confirmed that. This is what I am expecting from Side A of Velvet. I like it although it does not move the earth under my feet but he needs to get it out of his system. 2) So far, Velvet for me is Adam also finally getting to let loose his sexual nature. Being gay in America has meant that for the last ten years he has had to tone back the sexy and wrap it in all kinds of metaphors about universal experience. Now, that is fine because Adam definitely has his hippie/new age side, but from my perception, Adam is also a man who loves sex and now, by god, he is going to sing about it whether it's any sex is better than no sex, or that young guy with new eyes turns me on, or watch out I am coming in hot. Even his promotional appearances are more about himself and I like that. This also, he needs to get out of his system. I know his music will do well enough to keep him in the game, but superstardom is still a question mark. I am happy he is getting to explore things that have probably been building up inside and it is possible that being able to let go and do that is what has put him in a good place. 3) Finally (yes I know that you thought this post would never end) — a random thought about bringing "the voice" to his new music. Queen has given him the financial and artistic confidence to switch labels and produce whatever music the hell he wants but I wondered if it also mitigated his desire to bring a big voice to the other music in his life. Three or four months out of the year he sings Queen which is an overload of big voice and maybe he just needs variety ... Yes! Exactly!
He is doing his thing. And he is able to do that. What more could I want for him. Love CIH much more actually than the earlier ones, I enjoy pressing repeat when it comes up on one of the Spotify playlists that Skaschep has in her list (Thank you!). Then I'll continue on with the list. Don't do it all the time, just as I happen to catch it in time. Yes, the brilliance of his voice is less on display in these songs, but the specialness as a person comes through even more, imo. I can sense that the bird feels more free to fly and sing his kind of song, and Adam's soul needs that freedom, especially, if the QAL side of the business ties him more into singing the same covers again and again. I know it is a great gig, but I am sure that even a great gig like this eventually becomes routine for somebody like him. Not a complaint, QAL was the best thing ever to happen to him, just a fact of life.
He is doing well and that makes me happy, and the fact that he has somebody to share it with, makes it even better. The rest will happen when it will. The new generation is growing up with him being part of their musical reality, and with that pebble already kicked forward because of what he has done. A difference has been made, and he did it, did his part in the bigger forward momentum. And that is great to know.

It's always good to be reminded of what we can all do to support Adam in whatever way works best for us! I was checking out the Out Now playlist, and love that CIH is #7 on there, but was wondering why they also don't have NE on that playlist.. there are a some artists on that playlist with more than 1 song on it. As I listen to parts of a number of those songs on the list, CIH stands out to me, especially with Adam's voice which still sounds distinctive to me even with the falsetto.
