Wow, what a review! Certainly gave Adam his due, including WWTLF and TSMGO! Exactly! And how nice to see them reviewing the band that is on stage performing their hearts out for the fans today. At the end of the day, the fans have been raving about Queen and Adam after every concert. Queen really knows how to put on a show with Mr. Lambert out front doing what he does best.

Really love that review, one of the best I've seen, they really seem to get what it's about.

I like the review. It is solid and it applauds the band and Adam for how they have evolved over the years and what they are currently. No pink elephant, no Freddie comparisons, and no tribute act mentions. I think it may be in parts due to Adam's modified speech last night. He said that Freddie is "irreplaceable" but happy to carry the torch for him, but that was it from what I gathered last night. From my point of view, that was appropriate but not overdone.

Ya, the “torch” is a much better variation on the theme than the “elephant “

It was also modified in the DC speech. No pink elephant or god. I hope that is the new normal. Yes, acknowledge Freddie but also understand that fans are coming there to see you and Queen. No apologies are needed. If they are, those fans are likely not in the arena.

I'm still in my post-concert blubbering state, but I'll try to write a fairly coherent recap of my Philly concert. After my DC concert, I knew better what to expect of this magnificent show. On purpose I didn't watch any of the videos beforehand (an unpopular approach, I know, but I wanted to be totally surprised). In spite of seeing one show already, nothing can prepare you for the glorious onslaught of Adam's incredible voice, Brian's mastery on his guitar, Roger's fantastic drumming skills, and the awesome production of it all. I feel so fortunate to have been able to attend two concerts during this tour, as I was able to appreciate more fully Adam's INCREDIBLE vocals, the awesome screens, lasers, special effects, so many of Adam's playful antics throughout the show, the mutual hugs, the reaction of the audience, and all the comments I heard afterwards from "Queenies" saying how incredibly impressed they were with Adam. Music to a Glambert's ears!!
I must say, that the Wells Fargo Center has been my least favorite arena venue as far as organization and the parking situation. It certainly didn't help that there was also a Phillies game at the baseball stadium next door that evening. Took forever to get into and out of the parking lot, even with a prepaid parking pass. They didn't have the VIP entrance marked well, and I had to ask about three event personnel where I was supposed to enter (in spite of the e-mail from VIP nation). The event people were confusing arena cardholder VIPs with those of us who had concert VIP packages - entry was at two different locations for these two classes of VIPs. Lots of confused VIP folks, including me, wandering around outside of the arena in the heat and humidity. Once we were allowed entry, things went much more smoothly.
On to my seat - second row in one of the lower sections off of the floor, about half way down the thrust on Brian's side. Great seat! I again was amazed by the diversity of the crowd. Had a family with three kids ages about 8-15 behind me. The kids were loud before the show, but no problems once the show started. Mostly Queen people around me, but down the row a guy asked his wife "Do you want the seat closer to Adam?". Had to chuckle when she said yes, and I said "Smart lady!!".
This crowd was LOUD!! I noticed Q3 mentioned that Philly people are raucous, and she is right! Much louder than DC, even though I think this is a slightly smaller arena. As always, the show just went by so fast, but I was able to savor it more. Adam seemed even more playful than he was in DC, and the acoustics seemed better in this arena. I am just in awe how Adam just keeps getting better and better - I don't even know how this is possible! Loved his little wave to Javi during "Somebody to Love". Adam's voice seemed particularly stellar for TSMGO, and as always, my favorite is WWTLF. Loved the rainbow lasers during this song! I found the cheerleaders fun during "Fat Bottomed Girls" - very slapstick, but both Brian and Adam seemed to be having a good time with it. The crowd seemed to just love it! Cheers were very loud when Adam was introduced (with every iteration of QAL tours, the cheers for Adam definitely get louder, which is wonderful to hear!) Even louder cheers and whistles for Brian and Roger, but that is to be expected, and the loudest cheers when Freddie is mentioned or is on the screen. Adam's speech concerning Freddie seems more polished, and I'm glad that the "I'm not Freddie" part has been eliminated. Although some may disagree with me, I still think this speech is important, as the Queen people really seem to appreciate Adam's humility and admiration for Freddie. The confetti at the end was much thicker and extended further into the arena than in DC. The finale, with Adam in all his glory in his red and gold coat (gosh, how I love that outfit!!) was incredible, with the whole arena "vibrating", particularly during "We Will Rock You". What a FANTASTIC night and a FANTASTIC audience. I will remember this concert for the rest of my life. Worth all the hassle to get here from New Mexico!!
P.S. Hope this recap isn't too long - I know how I LOVE to read recaps! And thanks to all bringing over these marvelous tweets and videos!

Love and highly recommend Ricky Gervais's After Life. I actually tweeted Ricky and congratulated him on a job well done...and I have never done that for anyone but Adam!! It is clearly an act of love on his part...and other than the rush to resolution of the last episode, it is a really moving series. tott I know.....

I know this is mostly off topic, but I wanted to share some happiness with you. Much needed, I think, in a world where bad news only seems to be followed by more worries. Yesterday I went to the canal parade of Pride Amsterdam, and there was so much love. People from all shapes and sizes, ages, colors and orientations celebrating together. Celebrating the right to love who you want and to be who you want. The police and the military didn’t just ‘tolerate’ this happening, they took part with their own boats, celebrating diversity in uniform. This country is not perfect by a long way, and I worry sometimes what will happen in the future, but yesterday I was proud and my heart was full. Maybe there is hope after all. I hope this link will work, it is a selection of my pictures, the faces of pride Thank you Nic. Much appreciated today. It is a pretty somber day in the US.
