Lots of fun tidbits from last night and this morning. St. Paul sounded like a resounding triumph. Still a bit annoyed when a reviewer perhaps attributes a bit too much to the success of the movie when it comes to ticket sales. Yes, I know the movie has attracted new concert-goers, but QAL was filling huge venues before that, thank you very much. Love Adam's little STL pantomime. Head--heart--thrust! LOL. And Brian's response to it was fun. Brian has been a very dominant force in this tour. I noticed it in Chicago. He performed to roaring, appreciative cheers and applause. Even more than I recall in the past. He deserves every bit if it, too. Nice that they have two days off. Interesting discussion earlier about people's opinions of Adam's voice, Freddie's live voice, Freddie's recorded voice. etc. and who is "better." I agree with lurleen's comment. When are concert-goers going to just enjoy the band as it is and judge it on its current merits? I realize how emotional it all is. Loyalty runs deep. I have a very emotional connection to Adam and his voice...don't know why, it just is. I can guarantee you that if somebody were to replace Adam for whatever reason, I would always, always compare them to Adam...I wouldn't care how "perfect" they were in their own right. I'm pretty sure that would be magnified 1000x over if, god forbid, something happened to Adam. I'm not sure I'd be able to go to a concert and listen to somebody else sing Adam's songs. Even now, once Adam sings a song, in my mind it's his and nobody else should even attempt it. Yes, loyalty for some people runs deep and that may be something that he will never be able to overcome. A lot of people's attitudes toward him have softened over the last 7 years, but IMO, that comparison will always be there. To some degree, I have a lot of empathy for those people that are still mourning Freddie (unless they get really nasty about it).

When are concert-goers going to just enjoy the band as it is and judge it on its current merits? I realize how emotional it all is. Loyalty runs deep. I could understand it if Adam replaced Freddie a few years or even 10 years after his death. But 26 years? A lot of these people could not have been around to hear Freddie live. And as one guy said, Queen were not as huge in the US as they were in Europe. Even the UK does not whine as much as some of these people, lol. And it is not as if Freddie were fired and Adam walked in and got the gig. What do you think of the show and the people on that stage? You have had 26 years to write about Freddie if that is your great love. Have they been sitting around all this time waiting for Adam to step of stage to show their love and devotion to Freddie? Seems they have. Some of them will never be satisfied. Even the movie did not give them every detail of Freddie's life to their liking. Complain, complain, complain was all you heard. Now the movie (the critics hated) is totally responsible for the success of the band that has been doing this since Adam signed on. Would have been better if they had shown as much love for Freddie when he was alive. But they didn't. Now they want to act like whinny little B. cause Adam isn't Freddie or an imitation of him. And I want them to GTFU. HA!
