Here is what phronni7 posted. I highly recommend reading it. Thanks for sharing! Beautiful story. Vividly told.
"Thanks so deeply to all who so tirelessly provided a variety of ways of accessing the North American Tour in the all of the cities on the tour circuit.
Related to Queen and Adam, I promise! Maybe it will give a couple of funny minutes to relieve the post-concert blues. Here is the only time Queen ever made me stressed 😩 and aggravated (it’s a recollection from a long time ago).
At the time, I was very young, painfully shy, and was in young love 💕 with a really cute guy. My only wish was for him to kiss me, and I was sure that a happy future would fall into place from there. Well, there are those of you remember when, in extremely rural areas, people would drive very young. I’m not sure how or why, but on a summer day, he asked me to go on a ride with him on one of the rough roads that was nearest one of our family’s “rough camps”—no not for “that” reason: somehow, someone in our huge family would find out, and some testosterone filled cousins would have descended upon him! In retrospect, I just think he wanted to show me how well he could handle his brother’s Jeep.
We got to the bottom of the road and didn’t even walk the remaining distance to the camp. He sat on a tree stump, and I sat on a cooler which he pulled out of the Jeep. He pulled out a radio—some of you remember carrying those around everywhere. The family and friends who stayed at that camp had, over the years, found a few, select spots where one station picked up mostly static, but we listened to it until the adults would banish us somewhere far away. If you were really lucky, inexplicably, you would get a run of clear music.
And that is just what happened that day, with the river running beside us and what we called the June-bugs and the tree frogs beginning their chorus as if they were accompanying the radio and serenading us. And before I knew it, that dark haired boy, somewhat shy himself, was about to give this young girl a kiss she had waited on for more than a year.
And, as if on cue, clear and loud as a cowbell, came the throbbing baseline of AOBTD, Freddie’s voice quickly joined in. As if summoned by magic, my would-be boyfriend pulled away and began singing and bobbing his head along with one of their most popular songs! To make a graceful recovery, I joined him.... Alas, the moment had passed, never to be recaptured. From time to time when AOBTD would play, I would sometimes briefly think of that muggy Alabama day in the Alabama woods.
And the Adam connection? Well, who thinks of someone else when sexy, insanely talented and utterly charismatic Adam is on stage or when watching him perform any song (but for me, AOBTD in particular is very sexy). And those hip rolls he added this time? Swoon!
i don’t know why this came to me now, so for those who read, thanks!"
