girldrummer , I agree with you on this one, "The speech serves its purpose. Freddie lovers don't care how good Adam is. They just want Freddie to always be 'the one'. " The only question remains how much of a "speech" is necessary to keep everybody in the audience happy and how well Adam actually has to sing to keep the Freddie lovers engaged. Casual fans and us Glamberts are surely the ones who appreciate the bonus notes and the extra swagger. Emperor Maximus ... I love, love, love Adam's song, and I find it perfectly suited for him. I have "Give The People What They Want" on my "recent singles" streaming regimen I so wanted to see Playmobil, and not just for Adam, since my second obssesion is Harry Potterš, but all the theaters near me have been only playing the dubbed version š Guess I'll have to wait for a streaming version or somethingāŗļø Thats my small rent for the eveningš I know! I'm so surprised. Usually we have the original version too, for the pretty large English speaking population. I don't know what happened.

They only had the original version in the cinemas here for about a week as well. And only in the large cities. Such a shame as I was still in the US when it came out and when I was over my jetlag there were absolutely no options left anymore to watch the version with Adam. The Dutch version still plays, but I want to hear Adam nail his role!

I don't connect to Lizzo either...just tried to watch a clip of her singing last night, and only made it for about a minute. I seems like her whole schtick is "I'm fat, deal with it"...doesn't appeal to me, and the whole "bitch" attitude gets old, at least for me. But people seem to be really entranced by her, so good for her I guess. I never seem to be in step with everybody else's musical tastes lol. It's been that way pretty much all my life.
Larry Flick (he has interviewed Adam in the past for SiriusXM) posted an interesting take on Lizzo and the LGBT community yesterday, in his Insta Stories.
Very good point...I've heard that the gay community can be brutal within their own community.

Diggin' the Hawaiian shirt! And how do those lucky people score those backstage invites?!
They are family. On the right is Adamās cousin (one of Uncle Daveās daughters) and in the middle is her daughter. That young lady was six or so during Adamās Glam Nation Tour by the way and was so happy to see the concert. In a backstage video Adam had her on his arms and wanted to keep her.

I don't connect with her either. But I understand why she is having so much success. Like Lil Naz, she gets a ton of radio play and everyone gets to hear her music. It is hard not to connect, with a large number of people, when you are getting that kind of exposure and major Label push. It has little to do with the music being better than others or someone being bolder. Some are not going to get that kind of radio play even if they stand on their heads and sing, lol. Depending on who you are, it might even hurt you even more to try the schtick that works for others. And for sure, you are not going to get much additional award show exposure and success for your music if only your fans hear and stream your music.

At Monday night's (Aug. 26) MTV Video Music Awards, there was no denying that Taylor Swift walked away as one of the evening's biggest winners. Taking home the night's main award for video of the year, after a stunning opening performance and winning the video for good prize, Swift walked out of Newark's Prudential Center with her head held high. It helped that the video snagging her those prizes was "You Need to Calm Down," her star-packed LGBTQ anthem that took the world by storm earlier this year. With dozens of cameos from queer celebrities all throughout the video, Swift found herslef not only being congratulated by those around her, but by the stars that she so prominently featured in her video. From Adam Lambert to Antoni Porowski, here are just a few of Swift's co-stars who congratulated her online for her major win at the VMAs:

Matthew Rolston Studio šµIs this the real life? Is this just fantasy?šµ While no one can truly replace the legendary Freddie Mercury, @queen did find a more than worthy successor in the highly theatrical pop star and former @americanidol runner-up, @adamlambert, who recently kicked off a tour with the band. To get you ready, hereās Matthewās 2009 portrait of Adam created for the cover of @rollingstone while Adam was fresh off his star-making (and controversial) run on American Idol. Why controversial? Seems hard to believe, but back in 2009, being openly gay AND a pop star was unusual, to say the least. But Adamās memorable performance with Queenās Brian May and Roger Taylor on that show impressed them so much that they later invited Adam to be their bandās new frontman. Matthew of course has a history of imaging controversial musicians, so he was delighted to give Adam the rock ānā rol(ston) treatment lol. MR filled this portrait with suggestive symbols, including an embroidered metal butterfly prominently placed next to Adamās exposed trouser zipper (thatās some heavy metal haha), laid him down on a filthy bed (evoking a rock ānā roll squat), shot from above (a somewhat predatory angle), and on top of all that, had a REAL snake slithering up Adamās leg headed for his crotch! Talk about original sin. And itās no accident on MRās part, remember this starās name is ADAM! In fact, this portrait was a little TOO hot for Rolling Stone, and they asked Matthew to edit the image to censor Adamās nipple ā ever so prominently featured in MRās composition (swipe left to see the actual magazine cover). But you CAN see this āwild idolā in all his glory on tour with Queen now!šµ Set my alarm, turn on my charm. Thatās because Iām a good old-fashioned lover boyšµ #AdamLambert #Queen #MatthewRolston
