I liked this interview! So relaxed. They covered a lot of bases, both solo-related and Queen-related. Interesting that Adam is planning to start some sort of charitable, non-profit foundation for a deserving cause. Hope he gets the chance. To me, Adam sounded like he had a head cold. A bit stuffy. Maybe it was just the audio. This was a excellent talk! Several NEW tidbits! - He requested and got to travel on his individual bus on the latest tour to avoid jet altitude changes that apparently was affecting his voice! Had humidifiers on both sides of his Queen size bed - thought of doing the fat Elvis in the movie - working on his own charitable foundation - might be getting to the point of renting out the house ( can’t sell) - still finishing side B, many songs will be shelved probably more, but these stood out as “news to me”

The El Rey is really small as well. Oh, to be front row at any of these venues. I am surprised at the relatively small venue in LA. That's his home turf and I assume that theater could be filled with his friends alone. I assume/hope they will add a second night.

According to Google there are 1,932 seats at Foxwoods Theater. There are multiple theaters at The Foxwoods; are you sure that's the right one? The listing as quoted on page 2 said The Grand Theater at Foxwoods, which has a capacity of 4,000: www.thegrandtheaterfoxwoods.com/seating-chart/If that's indeed the right theater, it's interesting that he's going so much larger for that concert - maybe as a test? It's not like there should be any question about him being able to sell out the other two shows. That Zach Sang interview was really interesting. Besides the in-the-works charitable foundation, I was also struck by the tidbit that he took a bus, rather than the private jet, between some venues for this latest tour. But it sounds like he was still traveling in style!

Shosh told Pattihum No to a second nite at the El Rey. Of course, that might change if demand is huge....which it should easily be.

Amazing interview!! So much interesting information. I'm so excited he's thinking of starting his own foundation, and how he feels the need to help...very inspiring. Also how he is so committed to giving his best to every performance; I don't think every performer necessarily feels that way.
I could listen to him talk all day long...seriously. And I love these interviews where we get these interesting little tidbits because the interviewer asks great questions, and then gives Adam a chance to talk.
Very exciting day today!! It's been a great day to be an Adam fan.
ETA: Duh, just realized why that dude's voice sounded so familiar; the last interview he did with Adam was equally as interesting. Just found it on Youtube.

These intimate venues that Adam is playing may not be what his actual planned tour will be. Tho Foxwood Casino would be in line with what he will probably do with a regular tour. But as much as we dismiss the importance of radio, if you are not getting a ton of it to go with the streaming, you are unlikely to get the big hits and play arenas. And all of those playing arenas are not always the best singers or greatest performers but they are getting radio hits. The ones playing arenas without the big hits are acts who got them long ago. And they built up a huge following who still want to see them. And many of the rappers, with the huge streaming numbers and playing arenas, are touring with multiple acts. So Adam's tour sizes will be in line with his solo exposure. If it were based on talent, he would be playing stadiums, lol. I think Adam's actual solo tour will be the same mid-sized venues that he had on his last tours. It's just the reality of where he stands in the hierarchy of singers. Good radio play would help, of course. And he just might get some, more than we might think. As to singers in general and their success, I think it has ALWAYS been true for decades and decades, ever since the phonograph and the radio were invented, that hugely successful singers aren't always the most talented singers. Doesn't matter. It's a combination of the song, the delivery of the song, and the connection that the singer has with the audience. Voice quality and pure talent has little to do with it. Never has. Adam has a niche in the music industry. He has fiercely loyal fans. He also has earned some healthy respect in the music industry. He networks well. He gets pretty high-profile gigs on his own. QAL has given him immense cred and an international profile. Talent, personality and charisma doesn't always fill arenas. We stream, we view, we buy, we love the guy. A lot of artists have robust touring schedules of mid-size venues. When Adam came to Melbourne he played the Palais Theatre both times. It's seated venue with 3.5k capacity. He easily sold out 2 shows. The next jump up here is arenas. There is a smaller arena that holds 10k he could probably move to. QAL played Rod Laver which has 16k. Their shows in Feb will be at one of the smaller stadiums (25k).

The Zack Sang interview was awesome!!!!! I got a bit bored lately with the same old same old, but interesting questions were asked and the whole chat was engaging and genuine. Loved it, and I think Adam felt comfortable just chatting. If only he had taken his lab glasses off that made him sound really nasally at times. What stood out to me besides a few things that were already mentioned... - When asked about his strengths he answered "singing loud and wearing weird shoes". I disagree. I am one of those fans who totally love his nuanced and controlled vocals equally as much. Runnin comes to mind. - When he talked about Queen and their "symbiotic" collaboration, he mentioned that he wouldn't negotiate or compromise on the outfits he wears. And that he likes his glitter. Hmm... I wish he would listen a little bit as I was not super fond of some of his recent tour outfits - too glittery/tacky for my taste and wayyy too many layers. Loved the silver fringes though. - He talked about radio. It seems that radio play is not the primary goal - if it happens it's great and much appreciated, but first of all he wants to feel good about the music he makes. - Talk about Superpower. I can't remember the exact wording, but he said something in the context that he figured out what his fans like and this is for them. And his own gratification comes from making his audience/fans happy. But do you like it too, Adam? - He cares about what's going on in the world around him and that he is planning to start a non profit. Feels that he didn't do enough last year. - Fat Vegas Elvis in the movie?! Hell no. I don't find this type of self deprecating humor funny. Time to get "back on the horse" Adam!! - He really hopes to sell his house as paying two morgages sucks. Fingers crossed for you, Adam!

When asked a question like "what are your strengths", I don't think we'll ever hear Adam bragging. He usually tends to give an answer that's silly or funny. He's really great about propping up other people, but I don't think I've ever heard him bragging about himself. I could have missed when he did, but it would be unusual for him, I think.
I really appreciate how he pays attention to the world around him...it shows that he's not self absorbed...that he pays attention to politics and the rest of the world, even though he always says he's not really a political person like his brother.
Such an awesome interview...I'll have to go back and listen to the previous interview he did with Zach Sang a few years ago.

Well ok, i'll take the arguement that in the studio things couldnt just be fixed on the computer and stuff so there was more demand to be a good vocalist that way. cassie you made a good point about the difference of a concert and show. The jung artist today dance more and play instruments (although alot on my list don't actually dance), which people didnt do as much back then (correct me i'f i'm wrong).
