How do you make sure you're not streaming from your downloaded songs versus Apple Music database? Delete the downloads from your phone. Thanks, skaschep ! I was wondering the exact same thing today when I wanted to stream from Apple music while in the car. (I actually extended my subscription for now)

Going Indie was not going to give Adam the same results of a major label. TOH had Ghost Town on the radio and getting decent play. The label pushed it to big streaming playlists that helped give him great streaming numbers. There were CD's in the stores, on some level, and thru Amazon on the release date. It has been said that Empire did not have that kind of clout to push that well. And they didn't. It has been said that Adam was not looking or expecting big numbers. But he was in love and happy to be doing his own thing his way. I'm happy for him. Yes I was hoping for better results but not really expecting them. He was not going to get these huge streaming numbers just from his fans and little exposure to the public. I'm glad he made the Billboard 200. I don't think he is surprised by the numbers but he can still take pleasure that he put out a great product. Queen is and has always has been a huge positive for him. Now he needs to continue his promotion and keep his name out there. There is not much chance he will drop off the radar as all the other indie Idol artists have done. His fans and the press won't let him, imo. I'll keep streaming and supporting and cheering him on.

No wonder that Adam is relatively quiet, despite his need to recuperate. Question is, was the US promo enough, or did it get drowned out by all the Queen stuff? After all, he had two Queen commitments during his promo week, and one of them was pretty major, and following that Adam got sick and was let down by the Kelly and Ryan's tech crew. Has Adam's fan base let him down or does it take more than the core base to stream? I believe that for Adam the latter is the case. I was also surprised by the low number of digital copies sold and I was wondering if some Glamberts purchased a digital copy but forgot to download, or if many did only purchase the physical cd, which hadn't been shipped yet and thus didn't count toward purchases. Sorry to be so bluntly honest. I think the #16 in sales was achieved thanks to the fan base’s never dying commitment! It really seems to me that only die hard fans would actually buy a track nowadays, never mind a CD - this is most probably for collectors only.QAL imo was a plus, got extra visibility and extra TV face time, especially on MSNBC. the only thing I would’ve loved is for them to have included SP in the GC set, which I bet Adam himself refused to do. streaming is the key... I agree with Skaschep - there is a chance SP will move up the charts, who knows may be radio will pick it up too (not holding my breath on the latter) True. Only diehards buy the music, be it singles or an EP/album. I was just expecting a bit more diehards to buy and download the digital copy of "Velvet". But then again, many may have ordered the physical copy only. I too thought originally that the GC concert would be a natural promo tool for Adam's own music, but he really was insanely busy that particular week as he had also done UK promo. I am certainly not arguing about the importance of STREAMING and sharing occasionally!!!

What does it takes to get on KISS radio! Just wondering. No snark in the question.
lurleene, I liked your post. Adam has said that he is not necessarily chasing the Billboard Top 40. Sure, he'd love to be right up there at the top of it, but his perspective has changed. He wants to put out music that he loves and that comes from his own heart. And I truly believe that as his career continues, he WILL get that big hit now and then.
I like when you said that his fans and the press "won't let him fall off the radar." I think that is a very important point. I think he had made the leap from "singer" to "singer and celebrity/media personality." I really do. He is a great interview and is embraced by all who know him in the media. And of course Queen has given him enormous cred and exposure. He is lucky to have a good personality and a good sense of humor. He's quick and clever. So, hits or no hits, I think he is finding his place in the show biz world. I hope it lasts. QAL will end in due time. I think he can have a long career in many capacities on his own merits.
STREAMING!

That's the first time we've heard that Patti LaBelle story, isn't it? What a sweet story.
