Yes, someone at CBS told me it was due to illness. And other fans were told similar things by other people. But I am skeptical because who knows they are going to be sick in 72 - 48 hours? As I headed to Temple, I wondered if it was due to the date.
I went back and looked and could not find a public event on Yom Kippur.
In 2018, QAL did not perform a Vegas concert on Yom Kippur.
In 2017 he was on his way to Greece.
In 2016 recorded episodes of X-Factor were broadcast.
In 2015, he had no events on Yom Kippur.
And that is as far back as I went. Probably he did something public on Yom Kippur in 2014.
Maybe he wanted to give the shows some advance notice if he was feeling the least bit off still so they could find a replacement. I think he was the only guest scheduled for the Talk, so the show would probably appreciate the heads up. And if it is a respiratory virus, you can pretty much tell several days in advance if you will not be well enough in a couple of days.

Adam has a Jewish mother and a Catholic father, so was raised in a family with both identities {as were my children.} I remember a form that he filled out once which asked him to fill in "religion" and he wrote "Catholic" --I think it was for his entry into American Idol, but I could be wrong about what the form was for. However,i DO remember seeing what he wrote. I believe Adam when he says he doesn't follow any particular religion; I'm just hoping he feels better soon and is continuing his promos for VELVET.
Finally got my notice that my CD copies are on the way. Even though I love listening to the songs on my other devices,I really want to hold that little treasure in my hand!

IMO if it were that important to Adam to not appear on television or perform on Yom Kippur, he would have recognized the problem with the date long before the week of the tapings, even if "his people" didn't. And depending on what his health issue may be, it's very possible he knew a couple of days ahead that he wouldn't be up to a performance.
I thought I remembered a concert on Yom Kippur one year, but don't know for sure and can't say I care enough to do the research.

IKR about Twitter likes. I have lots of my followers/friends muted because of their excessive amount of Twitter likes...mostly political stuff....hundreds per day. I can turn off their RTs...which are really numerous as well....but not their likes. You can get rid of the likes of you use the newest tweets option instead of the start page one. I always use the first as it also give the tweets in Chronological order. Click on the star sign on the top of the page / app to change that. Thanks, I see the star and will give it a try. It says it will revert back so guess you have to refresh that feature for it to continue. I may unmute a few folks and see how their likes present.
