So interesting reading the post on Roger's GMA INTERVIEW, on the history of the how the B, R, and A connection developed. After watching the Show Must Go On documentary ...a million times...it has continued to confuse me why Adam says in all his interviews, that imagine if he had not sung BR as his audition song. Spike said he was drawn in by his wife's request to watch Adam performing WLL on AI, ( from another interview) which precipitated the email to Roger-- and obviously all the others who contacted B and R. (Roger said in the documentary, pure chance...he ( they) learned of Adam-- from Spike watching Adam on tv.) And, how interesting that Brian was compiling a list of possibilities for a new lead singer. AND, that Brian and Roger asked to work with Adam on AI. Now that to me is a really cool storyline. Yes! Some new surprises here. I think Adam always mentions BR because it is Queen's signature song and even non-fans are familiar with it. And it was his audition song. So it's part of his lore. And very cool to know that Brian and Roger initiated a plan to work with Adam. They obviously saw more in him than simply an outstanding voice. They saw his full potential as their front man. The rest is history. And yes, so ironic that Brian was compiling a list. Lucky for him there was no need for it!

momtomany's beautiful statement and account of recent happening has inspired me to respond-- what a beautiful attitude and outlook she has, when it could have been so different. I'm so proud of the way people are able to pick up the pieces and still have such a positive attitude & I'm so happy things have worked out well for her. I'm also in awe of the quality of the people that frequent this web site & I'm so proud & happy to be a part of it. Again, that statement was informative, eloquent & touching. So beautifully said. It truely touched my heart. We don't have fires but we do have hurricanes so I can somewhat relate. 😋 🥂 Congratulations on coming through it all with such a beautifully positive attitude!

Brian has said that he was getting a lot of emails from friends after the audition but I don't think he actually checked it out right away. Spike was the one who called Roger after his wife convinced him to watch Adam doing WLL. They have sometimes said Idol contacted them, I don't think I'd heard them say that they contacted Idol. This particular article is a compilation of pull quotes from various interviews. I believe in that press conference mentioned Brian said they were NOT compiling a list.

Brian has said multiple times that he was contacted by many people about Adam when he auditioned for AI. That prompted him to look Adam up. Roger says that it was Spike's referral after WLL. It was probably both. I don't think that Brian and Roger are close friends outside of Queen. It is my impression that they lead very different lives with different priorities. They are extremely close on Queen related stuff, but I can conceive that They each learned about Adam separately.
I also have heard Brian say multiple times that they were not looking for a singer. They figured after Paul Rodgers, Queen was finished. And, that they were contacted by AI about performing at the finale. I believe they probably accepted the invite in order to meet Adam. Brian is generally opposed to these reality TV shows.
Why the discrepancies? The history of their meeting and hooking up is of vital interest to fans of Adam, but I imagine the facts were not important to Brian and Roger. They may not have seemed so significant at the time to remember. Or, it just makes a better story?

Given that the Queen booking for the Idol finale would have almost certainly happened before the Final Two were determined, I have often wondered how the show would have handled it if Adam had been eliminated prior to the finale. I can't imagine Idol would have wanted to squander the opportunity to have Adam sing with Queen. Would the show have rescinded its offer to KISS and put Queen in that slot? I don't know what contractual obstacles might have stood in the way of doing that. It's not like they could have done a switch and had, say, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen singing with KISS as the Final Two duet. Of course, having that particular duo singing with Queen, with no Adam, wouldn't have been much more plausible.

There is no way Queen would’ve agreed to perform with anyone but Adam - I am not even adding the “IMO” here, I am 1000% sure!

My little Velvet CD from Empire has arrived! I know Adam hasn't signed the 500 batch...so that will be awhile. Now to start watching for my tshirt. IDT I've heard anybody say they have gotten their green nail polish. Excited for tonite! But concerned that Adam still doesn't feel well. Hope we get some vids...but sounds like they've changed their rules. I think before Adam did like 7 songs and for around 30 minutes. Those vids from Headonfire were fantastic. Maybe if they have to hide phones, somebody will record just the audio like we got from the Christmas special. So glad Momtomany will be there and so relieved her new house was unharmed. She is a lovely, special lady.
