METROAdam Lambert confirms he’ll be performing at Manchester Pride for the first time ever Adam Lambert has confirmed he’ll be performing at Manchester Pride in August later this year.
The American Idol star, 38, will be following in the footsteps of Rita Ora and Ariana Grande who have already headlined Manchester Pride, as he has been confirmed as a special guest for 2020. And clearly chuffed to have been included in the line-up, Adam revealed: ‘I am so excited to perform at Manchester Pride for the very first time! Something I have always wanted to do.’ ‘I keep hearing that LGBTQ+ representation is on fire over there and I can’t wait to be a part of it.’ Adam has long been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and his work has been recognised, with the Grammy-nominated artists landing a nod at this year’s GLAAD Awards, which recognises and honours those for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender plus community. I sure wish Adam would give us more notice on these tour dates. Tuesday morning I agreed to stay on Regent Explorer (where I'm a Destination Lecturer in the summer)for an extra 2 weeks in the Baltic. And of course it's until Sept. 9. And tonight I find out that means I'll miss all the concert dates from end of August to Sept. 9. Even more annoying is that we'll be stopping at most of the places Adam is performing - Helsinki, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin and London - but of course, none of the dates match the concert dates. I'm already thinking crazy thought's, like getting disembarking a day early in Bruges on Sept. 8 and taking a train for 8 hours to Hamburg, LOL. Then more long trains rides to Copenhagen and Helsinki. I'll probably sober up by the time tickets go on sale and settle for Copenhagen (can fly there from London on Sept. 9) and Helsinki. I hope the remaining North America dates are released before the Vegas tickets go on sale. That's again such shortage notice for getting time off work.... Oh Adam!!! Still addicted after all these years.

Quite the varied seating capacity...800/1150 Poland, 1500 Denmark, 6000 Amsterdam, London 12,500. Will check out more tomorrow. Las Vegas Venetian Theatre 729 ---small but 3 shows. That will be competitive to get a seat! haha The article Billboard posted above says capacity at the Venetian is 1800. Still not huge by any means. 💖 Huxley’s in Berlin is 1600 (standing only). Adam has already played there 2016 and it sold out (all German venues did, but they were/are small).

Still addicted after all these years. At least it’s not as bad as QAL, where you might literally go to bed on night and wake up the next morning to find out tickets have been on sale for an hour and you are in a phone queue with 600 other people (maybe a slight exaggeration here, but not terribly so). Queen has taught Adam a lot, but giving that much of a heads-up is not one of them. Of course, maybe Adam didn’t know about his dates ahead of time...
