Adam Lambert needed some some 'soul-searching' to reignite his music-making mojo
The 'Gho st Town' singer has admitted he was "getting a little fried" by the music business before he left major label Warner Bros. Records and needed to remind himself of why he loved music in the first place. Asked if he had fun being able to experiment with his sound without the pressures of a looming deadline for his upcoming LP, 'Velvet', Adam replied to website MusicFeeds.com.au: "Yeah, I’ve always liked to be an artist who gets to reinvent themselves a little bit. I like changing it up. "I don’t like repeating myself and I don’t like following what other people are doing necessarily. "I like figuring out what works for me. With this project, more than ever, I feel like I’m more in the driver’s seat. "That was part of all of the changes I had to make in order to be able to make what I wanted to make. "Because I got to a point after my last album, and I’ve been proud of everything I’ve ever put out, I mean it’s all work I stand behind, but I was getting a little fried on the business. "The commercial stuff, the numbers, the streams, the money. "It all just started to overpower what it was that I really like about making music in the first place." The 38-year-old singer - who releases his follow-up to 2015's 'The Original High' on March 20 - feels that his album turned out how it is because he was able to "follow [his] instinct" and steer away from "all of the noise". Adam Lambert: Velvet
American Idol alum Adam Lambert has impressed legions of Queen fans in recent years by joining the remaining band members for epic live shows in which he fills in for the late, great Freddie Mercury on vocals. Now he’s showing off his impressive multi-octave range on Velvet, his first solo album in nearly five years, which drops Friday. He’s described the record as “thirteen slinky numbers to catch a vibe to” – for a taster, check out the swooning single “Roses,” which features unmistakable guitar work from Chic legend Nile Rodgers, and the equally dreamy “New Eyes.”

Thanks for pointing out there are links to the songs. utube views counted hehe *** Is today also an open-topic Monday? I really thought it was a great idea last week, we all talked about our current TV shows favourites. Since a lot of us will be spending more time inside, we'll have time to watch all those shows now! But what else do you do, besides listening to Adam Lambert 24 hours a day? :D I've been learning Spanish (on the Duolingo app! it's easy, fun, and free, triple whammy) for the past several weeks. I love learning languages and I had been thinking for a while about enrolling in a Spanish course somewhere, but I wasn't able to find something suitable, and then by accident I came across an interview with the guy who created the app (I forget his name), and all of a sudden I had a light-bulb moment - hey, I could just start on my own. So I did, and it's been really fun and rewarding and I truly feel I've already learned a lot. (I should probably mention that I had already learned Latin and French before, though I've also forgot a lot, so learning Spanish now hasn't been too difficult, especially since the more foreign languages you learn, even if you don't reach a high level, it gets easier to take in the basics. We'll see how things go once I get to a harder level, lol - hopefully, I'll persevere.) Do you ever take courses online or use any learning apps and similar? I also really enjoy some games that are like that: puzzles or brain teasers, etc. I guess I'm just a big nerd. But I love that about me! haha
