Well I am happy my experiment created some conversation.
I was interested in the suggestion for Bama to listen to Nicole Wallace, MSNBC's Republican anchor and for me to listen to Chris Wallace, a more moderate Fox anchor. That, actually, in a way is the end game - moderating. But I listen to Rachel and Bama to Tucker. If we were to listen to both and really discern if there is something to hear in what is being said by the other side that we might want to consider, it is an important step.
We agree on so much. We all know a heinous crime when we see it. We all recoil from uncessary police tactics, we all want an orderly society and to be safe from criminals, we all want constitutional rights protected for everyone. So what is the problem?
The hardnend partisanship is the problem. Our country was always divided into two parties. That is considered healthy but it functioned better because everyone knew they were going to have to live with situations that don't suit them in order to have other situations that do. Compromise was built into the equation. It has vanished to the point where I feel sick and inflammed listening to Tucker and Bama feels outraged listening to Rachel. But maybe there is something Tucker can say that I can hear and consider and visa versa. I don't expect to change or Bama to change but I am wondering if an open mind might move us to a more graceful middle path. Our worse enemy is a willful ignorance and denial that there is any other point of view. Educating ourselves about all sides of an issue including what other's think is a duty of of a citizen in a functioning democracy.

So... killing people is “law and order”? Gassing peaceful protesters is “law and order”? there are always criminal element and extremist agitators Making things worse, none of which changes the original narrative... On the lighter side - I couldn’t bring myself to watch Anything on HeWhoCannot amed TV, let alone Tucker... not even that video Adam referred to... you are right, the close contact protests , even majority masked, will bring the new explosion of Covid cases ... all of it is a real tragedy, losing over a hundred thousand Americans should be important to the so called “pro life” party, but for some reason not this time... oh well... there is still hope this democracy will survive... I need to chime in on this one... bamafan , "Yes, we on the right are for law and order..." rubs me the wrong way as I can only see it as a populist term that the orange one on top uses way too often to rile up his fan base. May be it is time to wonder why in the past few years these words have popped up way too many times. What are those who call for it so afraid of? I think we need to go a bit deeper and figure out why masses on the streets feel the need to get their voices heard. I see this largely peaceful movement as much needed, and the couple days of looting on the sidelines should not take away from it. Not sure what weighs greater, property damage caused due to riots or thousands of lives of the black community lost due to police brutality. I am against violence too, but let's see if from both sides. Just to add, like Adam Said: just because you support BLM and the people standing up doesnt mean you support the looters and caos. To me saying "we, who are on the side of law and Order..." Implies that the Others want caos and destruction and that is populistic, complete BS and neither here nore there. Also there was a meme a few days ago that had a good Point: it's totally unfathomable to me how people can seriously protest the stay at home order for the good and health of the whole society because they feel they're rights are being taken away from them and now tell protesters it's their own effing fault if the police is brutal to them because they don't follow curfew orders. The bias in some people is seriously unhinged!
