Actually, our county right now has several fires...a couple of which are just a few miles down the hill from us. Hubby and I decided maybe we better pack a couple of bags just in case. Our town is in a valley, along with about 3 other little towns...we're surrounded by hills and woods, lots of redwoods. I guess whatever happens happens. Major fires now seem to be an annual Cali occurrence. Take care of yourselves. All the best. My neighbor just took her mom in who evacuated from Bolder Creek. Thanks, Sizzling! Yeah, Boulder Creek is one of the little towns in this valley.

You know, Adam is really lucky to have joined up with Queen...Brian and Rog....for more reasons than just the touring and all the exposure and pleasure that relationship brings. They are also really astute business people and major promoters.... and I have no doubt that Adam has learned a lot about making sure he is financially set in a way so many other artists aren't. He had a fair grasp on all that anyways, I think....but...he has had Brian and Roger in his professional life since very shortly after Idol so......goood goood goood for him!!! All excellent points!! Adam has pretty much said as much too, in one way or another. I never understood the griping about QAL. It is not as if he had to give up his solo career (and I do love his solo career too) to join Queen. There were down times when it must have been a blessing for him to have QAL to fall back on. We may not have known what was going on but he did. And it is ALL his career. His name stays out there solo and with Queen. And man does he have some experts, businessmen and role models to learn from. I cannot stop being so happy for him.

And just this teaser alone is getting publicity like crazy and Adam's name and picture are right in their. Love it all! So proud of Adam!

I am so sorry for all of you facing fire dangers. Crazy times.
I think, too, because of QAL, Adam has forever financially “made it” - it was a match made in heaven and doesn’t mean, as “Velvet” proves, that he can’t still do whatever he wants to do too without Queen. He has talked about coming to a better understanding of “success” and what that means to him. I think he may finally feel he doesn’t have to “prove” anything.

I'm thinking of the terrible fires in California & wish I could send some of our rainy, cool Vancouver weather your way. We've had about 6 really hot sunny days this summer, grrrrr. Please keep us updated as to your safety. I had forgotten the columns written by former opera soprano, Angelina Kalahari on Adam, but I just listened to her analyses of Velvet and thought it was terrific. I'm a professional string player not a vocalist, so don't fully understand the science and the techniques that make for a great vocalist, but Angelina really breaks down why Adam is so extraordinary. How he goes from belting to falsetto in ONE note, how he changes registers and intensity effortlessly, how his incredible breath control allows him to sing legato phrases in a way that nobody else can – apart from opera singers, etc. She also articulates something that I've felt in concert when I'm close to Adam (and other fans have said it too) - it's like our bodies are vibrating and we enter another realm of magic. She explains that: "Adam displaces the sound and air around him, so he creates a different vibration in the air around him not just with his voice but with his being. It’s incredible and powerful. It's Magical and different." It's why I'm buzzing after a concert, am on Cloud Nine for days, and will go to great lengths to be at a live show. Adam changes the very space around him and it affects us profoundly. He also seems to have his own spotlight wherever he goes. He stands out so much. We all know how incredibly special Adam is, and I found it fascinating to hear the technical reasons for what I know in my soul. Take a listen if you have 20 min. www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=1kT0Mw0SiGY&feature=emb_logo

Though Adam deserves the kind of fame that would have him selling out arenas, it's probably not going to happen BUT he does get that experience with Queen. He likes his nice things and the Queen gig means he doesn't need to worry about money. It also continues to give him exposure and new fans like with "The Show Must Go On" doc., and helps gets him onto radio and TV to promote his solo stuff because he's "The lead singer of Queen." It's the best thing that could have happened to him and it's a gig that will have an end date when Roger and Brian can no longer do it physically.
