I sure hope Adam gets his dream to someday play Judas in JCS. He has wanted to get the chance for years. He sure has the voice for it. Great to know that he got to attend this latest production. Very cool that Tim Rice was there!
And yes, I'm sure the HerbalLIfe thing was just another gig. I can't believe that Adam would be involved in it in any other way.

Back when some fans were insisting that Adam had a part in JCS, I watched a version from a London production (I think I paid about $2 to view) just to get a feel for the concert show in anticipation. Of course Adam was not even in the running, lol. But the version I watched ruined it for me. John Legend just didn't come close and I knew it before I even saw his performance. I don't care that he won an Emmy for it, he just could not hold a candle to that Jesus. As I watched it, I could imagine Adam going toe to toe with that Jesus. I got chills. HA. I don't think I would have recovered with the two of them, lol.

I don’t know anything about Herbal Life -
but I do remember some years ago, Adam said that he had lost weight by having some kind of controlled ready meals delivered to his home. I don’t think I’m imagining it because I distinctly remember how un-rock-star it sounded. (Hope someone else remembers that too...) I remember that, but it was whole meals and an upscale vendor, more like Hello Fresh (but not them) www.hellofresh.com/Herbalife is a shady (in my opinion) MLM (multi-level marketing) company that sells nutritional shakes etc. They have been sued numerous times, paid-out numerous judgements, and are still being sued. They do not sell their products online which tells me that product is not a source of legitimate revenue for them, that comes from the unfortunate people who buy into their scheme. They are currently trying to expand into China having already preyed on the population of most of the rest of the developing world. As you can probably tell, I do not like Herbalife and was sorry to see Adam associated with them in any way. He can't be perfect all the time. Surprised me, too.

And it is nice that Adam was able to get out of L.A. for a bit and enjoy some time off. I know opportunities have dried up for many musicians but Adam seems to always have something going on. Tho virtual, he has been in demand and had many performance slots during the pandemic. I was really excited about the Grammy Museum, Corden and JB fundraiser performances and the interview with Mayor Pete. Many interviews in print and tv shows, one way or another. And now QAL will release a live album that they are getting to promote a little. He is fortunate and so are we.

He won his Emmy in the Producing category as he was one of the producers, who also got nominated that year. I didn't watch any of those productions, but I know Legend's voice and he is not a musical theatre singer so I can well believe how much of a difference that is, and how much of a let-down to hear Legend after having heard somebody who is a professional musical singer. I'm not sure what percentage of people in the US actually go to the theatre to watch musicals, but I would say it's probably not a huge number, so maybe it's not surprising that there are so many INCREDIBLE singers in the music theatre that are completely unknown. I mean, would any of us know about Adam Lambert! if he hadn't decided to do American Idol? Maybe a few people from LA would know, or if he ever managed to move to NY he would have gotten his name a bit more out there, but then that would have been it. I look at some other amazing Broadway singers, like Megan Hilty or Christian Borle, for example, who I only heard sing because they were in that TVshow "Smash", or Chenoweth and Menzel, two of the greats, who I only heard because they sang on "Glee" (and later "Frozen", of course, exploded Idina's fame). How many other amazing singers never get tv-shows or movies to showcase their talents to a larger audience? When I look at it that way, I am not surprised by pretty mediocre talents getting lauded as being superb. Most people don't really have much to compare them with. With Adam Lambert, we are so lucky that he broke through because we know his voice needs to be heard by the entire world, and I think he has managed to reach a lot of people in the past 11 years and that number just keeps growing, which is wonderful.

Thank! You are right JLegend won for producing and not acting. But I'm not overly impressed by his singing on stage or otherwise. Same with some of the Musical theater singers like Idina Menzel and Chenoweth (can't really say I love their voices). As for Adam, there are not many on his level who can rock the stage with Queen and many other formats too, lol. And I don't remember the name of the guy who I saw play Jesus so I have no idea if he is from musical theater or some other kind of singing star from the UK. He was just fantastic in that. So he was who I was comparing JL to and maybe unfairly. I just know he ruined it for me. HA! Maybe I would have enjoyed John more if I had not just seen that guy right before the NBC version.

Lol they're always going to be their. I remember the mvs charting in 2009. When I bought his first ever album. Then I went away to college. Here we are over ten years later still charting over here.
