Better than I know myself - hr3 unplugged Uploaded by hr3de on Feb 15, 2012 Adam Lambert hatte mit "Whataya Want From Me" einen großen Hit. Jetzt ist er wieder da. Der schrille US-Popsänger war im hr3-Studio und hat zusammen mit drei Musikern seine neue Single "Better than I know myself" performt.
So in Germany he said album in April, but we didn't know it then.
New album in April
In America, Adam is often in the media. One is so glamorous, so kind and sympathetic to, is often mentioned. He is called in America "Lamb" or "Glambert." Adam says: as media work. He has learned to accept it and if he is asked about the nail polish, then he talks about the nail varnish. And when they ask him about the eyeliner, then it is also this information. Of course he is happy when he can talk about his music. His new album "Trespassing" comes in April, he has produced with Pharrell Williams and all that he likes music that can be incorporated into the sound of Michael Jackson, Prince, Depeche Mode, George Michael, Nine Inch Nails. These were the first songs he liked. So he came spontaneously to his first musical loves. Sam Sparrow has written a song, Nile Rodgers plays guitar in a funky song. And no matter what musical style it is on the album, the songs are all very personal, and the cheerful, upbeat songs.
It all depends on the timing
Adam Lambert says: "Timing is everything in the music business!" He is convinced that he is gone at the right time to "American Idol" and that his first album was the completion of this section in his life. End of 2011, he gave us at the "MTV Europe Music Awards" thrilled at the gig with Roger Taylor and Brian May. He sang very well, when he was a medley of "The Show Must Go On" and "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions"! He always liked Queen.
Adele has touched him
Adam's voice is great. On the day when he visited us, he has sung early in the morning. Adam is very quiet and says: Sometimes when he is tired, he has better access to his own feelings, and so sounds like "Outlaws Of Love," a song from the new album, very vulnerable. The song is about people who because of their sexual orientation in America do not have the same rights as in Europe. And when it comes to his feelings, Adam knows what he is talking as he has heard nobility "Someone Like You" for the first time, he was crying. Such a simple melody with this nonsense text and then sung so incredibly well ... "Someone Like You" has hit him really the core.
Adam unplugged at hr3
Adam's second album has a light and a dark side, as he well. Each of us has them. He had plenty of time to record the album and the first single, "Better Than I Know Myself", he likes because he is vocally challenged again. After the unplugged recordings in the studio hr3 Adam looks quizzically into the recording director: "Was I good?" he asked silently. Somehow one gets the impression that he is never quite satisfied with his singing and still want to be better.
Men do not wait in the cold
It was very cold when Adam was with us: Minus 10 degrees. Before the radio station, some women have gathered. Adam says he sees even men in the audience, but women are waiting in the cold for him, something men do not.
He hopes to go on tour and in any case he will try again to visit us when the album is completely finished. We look forward to it!

Too excited to read through the end of the thread and catch all your comments. THis picture is totally fucking brilliant. I can't believe it! As someone who's lived in Berlin for several years (both before and after the fall of the Wall) and LOVES the city, this picture captures wonderfully what is so exciting about it. I see the Berliner Dom in the hat, as well as the Reichstag, Clematis: , and yes, I thought of that famous image of Honecker and Brezhnev kissing from the East Side Gallery, too, but what a brilliant way to depict it, as if the kiss is mending the wall.
(by the way--original mural didn't have the Trabbi crashing through it. Here's a clearer pic: )
And I love that he chose to depict an earlier "controversial" same-sex kiss (even if it was only a fantasy kiss). And the energy of the city is totally captured. I agree the cliff-side NO MAN's land is terrific (my family's car once lost a hub-cap in no-man's-land. My then-teenaged-brother, not thinking, jumped out to retrieve it, and saw himself looking down the barrel of quite the array of shotguns!--Everything was fine, though, in the end!). And yes, the Brandenburg gate is def, there, too--Adam gets the tourists highlights but still manages to imbue the pic with the energy of the insider. You can tell he must have gotten to know the lively dark side of the city when he lived there, and loved it. AWESOME. (Can we make out if there's anything written on the flag? *goes off to oggle again*)
