Ahhhhh ... my funky soul has been fed. Can not help but remember that Adam and Sam were writing this song and Sam said something like; "you know who would be great on this, Nile Rodgers ... let's tweet him." and funky heaven was born. A to the men. There is only one thing that has now tarnished my funked-out blissfest... I suddenly realized it's an entire fucking month before we'll hear the rest of the song.  |

I would also love to hear how Adam came to get Underneath. This is such a perfect song for him. I wonder who discovered it. Or did Tom Shapiro (think that's his name) suggest it for him?

I can't stand all this excitement and not know what you are flailing about. BBL. They are a bit more than snippets which are usually 30-60 seconds. These are all half the song! But, but... I don't like opening my Xmas gifts before 12/25. LOL. Thanks, myspencer - I suspect I will be breaking this rule.  |

I figured out my favorite - - the album!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  ^^^^^^THIS and that above and all the flailing and all the smileys that have been posted. With RL, I seem to always end up on the backend of all the flailing. No matter. I am happy with what I have heard with all the snippets. I so enjoy just reading all the flailing posts. It's all joy. Thanks, myspencer - I suspect I will be breaking this rule. Listen, listen, listen! Do it. You'll be so happy you did. We all know the "rule" that "Snippets Lie". But what that usually means is songs in full can sound great when snippets don't. In this case the longish snippets sound so spectacular, would be difficult to believe the full songs will be even more gorgeous. |

You hear so many of his musical influences. Does anyone else hear En Vogue-esque harmonies in Shady? Very "Free your mind" when he says "I ain't broken, but I need a fix." And Sam Sparrow is SEXAY on that track!! Oh I did! Hit me in the face like a trout in first snippet so I immediately jumped to next song. (Love FYM! - Just not crazy bout soundalikes personally). But remembering the unreliability of snippets, I checked out 2nd snip that doesn't start w that bit and felt much much more positive w song starting completely differently so that bit becomes part of diverse landscape. I'll need many listens to absorb before I can really appreciate Adam's lovely work but I will say that for me my fav songs SO FAR are the ones that don't remind me of someone else. (Also, I'm still not inclined to dis NCOE - esp since it's my single and I plan to support it like a beast!). |

Every time I listened to "Underneath", I couldn't help getting teary and choked up; it's the lyrics, it's his VOICE, it's everything that is total ADAM: raw, honest, and powerful!! I can't wait for this whole song, this whole album! So proud of him!!

I don't know how it came all together. But I remember that Adam said that his favorite song on Kelly Clarkson's album was Honestly, and that was written by Tom Shapiro. Maybe Adam tapped him to write a song for him on this album. |

Yesterday, my snobby musician son had to admit that he liked Trespassing (I played a live version). Tonight my very knowledgeable husband said Broken English was the best track so far and liked it!!! I am two for two right now. Doesn't it feel GREAT? |
