I joined Atop the week the Trespassing songs leaked and have been listening to the stream constantly. I LOVE all of the songs and the wonderful reviews. I'm so excited for Adam! I sent the stream links to a friend in Norway and she wrote back that she was going to buy the CD on ITunes. I imagine she already has it. I also sent links to two other friends and one wrote back about the songs that she likes and that she wants to get them. I'm getting excited for the Chicago radio concert. I wonder how many songs Adam will sing. I can't wait to see him live again!
I don't see where to put where I'm from in my profile, but I'm from MN if you want to add me to the map.
Sorry I tried to bring this over as a hyperlink, but I failed, Anyway, I just want to share the news that TRESPASSING is #4 on the Pre-Orders Chart on the HMV website in the UK. (Bieber and Chris Brown are ahead.) Maybe this is a sign that TP will do well in the UK.
How many fans thought that WWFM was the best song on FYE, including all the bonus tracks?
I don't remember WWFM being a fan favorite last era. Did most fans think that IIHY should have been the single after WWFM? I remember many thinking those two choices were not the best single choices. (just something to think about
That said, NCOE is a fine single, but it really is not representative of the music on this album. And many reviewers have written exactly that. I think RCA has a challenge with marketing Trespassing -- it is a great album but they need radio to build awareness -- but the track that garnered the most interest from radio according to Adam is NCOE. So they send that single to radio because it will get played. And it becomes the song that Adam does on TV.
I think it will all work out in the end and Trespassing will really sell. Plus, the promo has really just started.

Funnily enough I have been listening to the album in order and on shuffle, and both BTIKM and NCOE fit in to the general vibe and sound quite well. The one song that doesn't as much (and don't get me wrong, I LOVE it, and think it would be great on radio) is Naked Love.
NCOE has both the driving beat and ethereal vocals in the bridge of many other Trespassing songs, and the combination of dance and love elation with a slightly darker and more meaningful twist (there's plenty of time to sleep when we die) in the lyrics which many of the songs do as well.
It's not identical in vibe, but none of the songs are identical to each other, yet they all work together well.

Thanks Leena (and Wal), but just to be clear SQUIGGLES made the screencap and tweeted it, I just sent it on to Adam! She's got her twitter avi permanently on Adam's twitter now (yay!) but I immediately felt bad that I hadn't included her name in my RT. I wasn't expecting my tweet to get noticed, I was just so excited for him to have his FIRST #1!!! And, yes, Finns are wonderful!

Great news!!
In that compilation link of the reviews I posted earlier, I noticed that the ones from the UK were all glowing. One was an Entertainment News Site and the others were blogs, but still it must be a good sign. Now if we could get some UK reviews that counted in the Metacritic score, that would be great!

I've noticed the same thing about NCOE. IMO, it fits in with the first half of the album really well. I'm not sure how I feel about BTIKM, because I'm kind of burned out on it after hearing it performed acoustically a million times! lol
Sorry if this has been posted before, but I came across this video of Queen fans (please don't barrage the comments section) and I think it shows pretty much the gamut of Queen + Adam reactions: guy on the left, give Adam a chance; guy in the middle, Paul Rogers RULES and is the greatest singer ever; guy on the right, no one can replace Freddie laallaallaa I can't hear you.

Are you me? WUT? LOL.
I have to agree with you regarding Naked Love; IMO it's the ONLY song that sounds completely different from the rest, when on shuffle. It's "too" poppy, too simple, although I looove part of the lyrics and Adam's delivery.
Having said this, if Naked Love is ever released as a single, it will be a smash hit. LOL. 8-)

ayleim: Just checking - so there were NO Adam-sightings in the performance show right? Then I don't have to worry about being near the TV later tonight, I can just listen from the kitchen. :D
