I also can't stop thinking about how the parents of these seriously, sometimes terminally ill children would react to NCOE. On the one hand, the song must reflect their own emotions to an uncanny degree. Every line fits. They could be very touched by it. Or, they might be actually offended, thinking it was tasteless and cruel, on this one night of celebration and song, to be reminded of how precarious their child's life was. Probably got both reactions, actually. Most people loved it, I'm sure. The interpretation that glittergma posted touched me and made me look at NCOE in a new light. At first my mind rejected what you said, but then I remembered once when someone bought a book from me for a relative recovering from surgery. I signed it for the person with an inscription "Enjoy the journey." The lady who bought the book was offended -- since her relative was having surgery, I was a terrible person for suggesting she "enjoy" anything, even an escape into a book. :-/ Yeah, but life *is* a journey. When my husband was having surgery, having people talk to me about the "journey" was actually quite comforting. As in "this detour is unexpected, and will be very difficult for a time, but at the end of the journey everyone will be better and healthier". I love journeys. If you stop the journey, the story comes to an end. Gimme the journey any day.  |

In the Fan Cave interview, in the "glam quiz" section towards the end, there was one question Adam passed, and I'm ashamed to say I didn't know the answer either  It was something like "if you were part reptile, you'd be..." Anyone knows? 
The only thing I can come up with is "glamphibian" (amphibian). It's not entirely accurate, since amphibians are not "part reptile" but people associate the two kinds of animal so I think that might have been what they were going for. |

I'm just watching MTV Israel, and there's a "20 hottest gays" countdown (in honor of gay pride month). I only started watching at #9, so I was certain that I missed Adam, but then... surprise! Who's at #2? Yup, you guessed it!  (#1 is Queen's I want to break free). |

Just me, but I can't see why these parents might have been offended by the song. Its message after all is "live out your days to the fullest," which is great advice for anyone no matter how many or how few days are left to us. If anything, NCOE's words reaffirm what they already know - it's not how much time you have, it's how you spend it.People who are worried, particularly about medical stuff, react all sorts of ways. I could write a book about the truly inconceivable (IMO) ways that people react to the stress of injuries and illness. Have lived through two such examples relatively recently, and I bang my head against the wall A LOT in a frustrated desire to shake some sort of rational sense into people behaving irrationally. [Yes, losing a piece of leg is horrible.

WTF? Are they trying to reach the six people left east of the Missippi who haven't bought it yet?
I don't understand record companies, I truly don't. Why bother to spend the money?

I think its quite telling that in the title song of Trespassing, Adam sings: "I don’t need no sympathy.
I won’t cry and whine.
Life’s my light and liberty and I’ll shine,
When I want to shine" Adam is someone who knows that things aren't always ideal, hell sometimes not always fair. But Adam always CHOOSES to look towards the light.I wish more people on earth thought in this fashion. |

Glizzard? Not sure where that would have come from or what it has to do with Adam, but it was the only one I could think of. Perhaps it refers to the shoes he is wearing. Dunno.
Now on the pride thing, I have to admit that I am clearly slow on the uptake. Did not catch that one. Embarrassed....hanging head.....
Other question: Why are we seeing now reviews from RAH? Would that event not be covered in typical UK entertainment news or will we see such coverage only by Monday? What timelines are common in UK for music show reviews?
