I completely understand why Brian and Roger would not want to do a show without Adam . He brings an incredible amount of energy to the show that is completely apart from his talent. Adam feeds off the crowd, and I'm sure Brian and Roger do, too, but they also feed off the energy of Adam. Even some critics talk about the energy that goes out of the show when Adam leaves and the way it returns when he does. Adam is young and joyous and gifted and charismatic, and I believe that, for Bri and Rog, he is a vital part of making DOING the shows feel good - AND, in their minds, of making the shows good ENOUGH as well. After all, they are perfectionists, and they want their shows to be at a certain standard that they feel good about. Adam will be well soon enough, and the show will go on once again in the way that Brian and Roger feel is best. YES they have said so in so many words.. "drinking Adam's blood comes to mind" where have you been???? Nice seeing you Busy, busy, busy in real life, so I am mostly on Twitter these days, but I am currently in vacation mode until tomorrow. ????

For me, Adam has the power and the vocals and the stage presence to make the tour contain the magic Brian and Roger demand for it. I think Brian and Roger trust he can deliver for them, and the reviews seem to support that most people agree. But I also think that a major part of what Adam brings to the table for B and R is all of his phenomenal ENERGY-- his physical energy, his energy on stage, his stamina, his work/practice energy, the FUN of his energy and his positive personal interaction energy. People who work with Adam love working with him because of that. Many singers/front men are "no Adam" in that way.
It is hard to generate all of the energy an extended tour demands day after day without the right mix of personalities, especially as you get older, when no matter how much energy you have, you still don't have quite the same levels of energy you had in your maximum energy years. Adam infuses Brian and Roger with energy. (He infuses me with it as well, lol.). They drink his blood, as they joke. He gives them new life, energy-wise. Creatively, there is nothing better than working with someone who is a catalyst for that. That energy plus that talent- that is why there IS a tour. As a fan, I am grateful for that. No wonder the atmosphere is one of joy.

Hi all!
Back in Chicagoland, tired but happy. It is totally out of character for me to just drop everything and fly off to a concert. (Much more typical for me is to watch everyone else's stuff while THEY go on the rollercoaster.) But I like the top! For all you quiet lions out there, do not let seeing Adam and Queen live pass you by. Just go, you won't be sorry. Being with Adam fans makes everything betterer, especially the Adamtopians I met on this trip.
I was very fortunate that Q3 was able to be my "plus one". She's so knowledgeable, friendly and talks to everyone! I think the car rental guy may actually go to a Queen concert on her recommendation. She drew such interesting stories out of the fans in line at iHeart. And Sam Sparrow is very handsome in person...
The live stream was good, but truthfully, not even close to the live experience. I was on the floor, and the sound mix was excellent! While I never took my eyes off Adam, (come on, it's Adam Lambert), I let my ear wander. Adam's voice was confident, expressive, nuanced. (Is it unusual for a big voice to be nuanced?) I loved hearing Adam's voice and Brian's guitar responding to each other. One moment I noticed Roger's high harmony...next a keyboard countermelody...then some classic rocking out. Every time Brian did a guitar solo, the twenty-something guy behind me would gush, "Did you HEAR that? Did you SEE that?" Hear? Yes! See? No! I only had eyes for Adam.
There was one moment in the concert that Adam looked right at me, and I felt connected. There were several A-tops near me, and they felt the same way. Unfortunately, it was during "Fat-Bottomed Girls". And since I've seen these lovely ladies in real life...this song title just doesn't apply to them. Therefore, he really was looking at me!
Anyway, I've always enjoyed other people's recaps. Here are my ramblings to add to the mix.
Loved your recap! So fun to meet you! I will post some thoughts later when I have a little bit of time.
