www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tn3AiU0HcUWould love to see Adam sing these Songs once.
There are a lot of Tenors around the world but only a couple of them ever were for me immaculate
Caruso with his profusely range and warm timbre and same time voluptous execution.
Schmidt with his sweet sadness and beautiful clearness ( sadly so few GOOD recordings)
Wunderlich with his clear range and smooth joyful showiness.
All three died young. There are a lot more Tenors i like dearly, Pavarotti, Bjoerling, Kaufmann,Florez, Krause, Corelli, Villazon, really young Carreras, Gedda, all Classical as you all notice.
The ones in Rock, Musical and Pop and also other Music styles would take even more place .
The three that are special to me have a fourth young brother in talent , at least for me, and as you all would guess for sure, it is Adam Lambert.
I always loved Freddie most in Rock, but Adam has surpassed him for me after i first heard QAL live.
I never was lucky enough of course to have seen Queen live, i am in my thirties after all, but then i also never seen my three favourite Classical Tenors either and was lucky listening a couple of the other ones i listed as likes, both in really good recordings and live.
Pavarotti was fantastic, but never overwhelming heartbreaking as Caruso for me.
Noone of the newer or other singers touching my soul so deep within but Schmidt.
Wunderlichs clearness ( well, the technic for recordings were better at his time, than in the time of Caruso and Schmidt ) and lightness and playfulness in tone just makes me happy.
The only one Tenor today that let me listen to voluptous joy and sweet playfulness, to lightness and soul, heartbreaking sadness and rocking happiness is Adam.
I would absolutley love to hear him one day sing some of the old opera or operetta songs. Lehar maybe.
You all might be wondering why i'm writing all this stuff here and today.
I know it is the news thread, and i love all the REALLY GOOD news about Adam.
Loved every single second of XFactor, watching everything a lot of times, Love the Campy fun of Rocky Horror Picture Show and Adam playing Eddie, feeling excited about the news of new Music and more QAL.
RL but let me think back last night how i discovered Adam. ( Googling Tenors, trying to find someone new, that make me feel good. 2012 five days before Trespassing i found out Adam Lambert exist.)
Last night in RL i lost my oldest Patient to date, i work as a nurse in Palliative Care, and i knew this Old Lady for a long time, since she also lived in the same Nursing Home as an greataunt of myself.
We talked a lot about Music and Opera when i was visiting all the years and she had both seen Schmidt and later Wunderlich Live a lot of times.
I played for her and my greataunt a couple of Adam songs after i discovered him, the Ballads, and Brigadoon, but sometimes rockies stuff also. Both loved Shady. my Greataunt passed 2014, in sleep, a good sweet death. This Lady now was 15 years older than my greataunt and was determined to survive till she was over 110.
She did. Birthday was 26.9, she was already in my Station, wanted to know if "This fine Young Good-looking Tenor" had a concert these days. I downloaded her WWTLF and TSMGO, KQ and DSMN from Shanghai, she since then listened these songs, plus Adam singing Brigadoon and the Songs from above.
She was still young at heart and loved him beeing Swishy as she said.
Last night she went away with a smile.
Thank You Adam for beeing you.
Sorry guys, for me beeing so sentimental but through her i learned so much about music in all the years i was visiting my greataunt and her in the nursing home.
She was jewish from her grandmas side and was lucky to get away 1935 by having family in London, 10 years after WW2 she came back to Germany with her Family.
She survived her husband, all 5 Children and three grandchilds. Most of the family live now in America and Australia and Israel. She always treated me like a grandchild. Strong Woman.
Schmidt was her favourite and these were her most loved songs.
In Remembrance
to a great Lady
I Promise to never do anything like This again, ok
Just, she gifted me all her old Records over the Years, her Family was not Interessted and i learnt through her so much.
Sorry Guys for my long Post.
Love you all
p.s. if you want to remove it, no problem , just needed to get my thoughts of my soul after coming back from work.
She was a special Patient, just because i knewn her so many years now.
