To rpeura, I think you are so right---there really isn't any way to rationally prepare for an "Adam Encounter." I guess the best I can hope for is to remain vertical!!!! At least you have a lovely picture of yourself standing next to Adam-and he even has his arm around you! And , for good measure, you have your son to fill in all the details of that sweet moment.

Thoughts as I anticipate meeting Adam: I am not one to be star struck by anyone. Never cared about picking a "favorite Beatle" when I was a teenager. Never had posters of rock stars on my bedroom wall. Autographs of famous people really have no meaning for me. The only time I ever was awestruck by meeting anyone was when I was a young college girl in New York many years ago and I belonged to my campus political affairs club. We were on the parade route for the Democratic candidate who was running for Governor and were told that someone special was going to be along the route and, as representatives of our college we would be able to meet him. I correctly guessed that it would be Bobby Kennedy and sure enough, when he stepped forward to greet my college group, he singled me out and extended his hand to shake mine.I stood there, frozen-a moment in time, and my girlfriend Eileen said, "Oh my goodness, why didn't you shake his hand?" I didn't really have to answer her question....Of course, as all of us who lived through those turbulent times remember, it wasn't long after that incident, that Bobby was assassinated in Los Angeles in his quest for the nomination for U.S. president.Anyway, that memory is with me always-and no one has touched me as deeply ---till now. There's something about Adam Lambert ,aside from his beautiful voice that touches my heart and soul. He makes me feel happy and inspires me in so many ways. So, when I get to see him, it would really be good to be able to smile at him, look into his gorgeous eyes and say simply, "Thank you, Adam." I don't want to repeat the regret I have from way back when -on that summer day when I failed to grasp Bobby's hand.....

So excited to be seeing Adam in San Diego on July 2nd---only 2 weeks from tonight!!!! I'll be meeting him backstage and can't think of what I'll say to him. A million thoughts run through my mind but nothing seems "just right" and I know he's heard it all before. If I can find my voice,I hope to be able to say,"Hi, Adam, I'm Lorraine" because he likes it when we introduce ourselves. -

Dear Kamar, Please don't worry about expressing your honest feelings --the fact that this is such a genuine place is what drew me to Adamtopia in the first place. .We all have those "down times", even our Adam. Several years ago, I was housebound in a wheel chair for 6 months following ankle surgery. I can't begin to tell you how uplifting it was to follow Adam's GNT tour each day-and how it helped me overcome feelings of isolation and physical pain. I never feel stupid following Adam Lambert's professional journey and the personal aspects of his life he chooses to share with us. My daughter stopped criticizing me years ago when I looked at her and simply said, "He makes me happy." Like you, I have many blessings in my life that enrich me and bring fulfillment--but Adam is my special secret joy that I share with all of you and I know I'm fortunate to embrace this man with the beautiful voice and loving heart. I am thinking of you and hoping you will be on the "upswing" very soon. And ---a big thank you to all of you who have sent me such warm welcomes ; I feel a little overwhemed-- like Adam must have felt all those times he was greeted by fans in airports all over Asia following his trips oversea!.

Agree, he is a super interesting person to follow. I often feel a little guilty that I spend so much time online, and hence less time reading literature as I did in my pre Adam fan days, but in truth I find few novels as interesting as this real story: The Adventures of Adam Lambert, Pop Star. I remember once back in 2009 when I felt guilty for spending too much time and attention on an up and comer named Adam Lambert. I got over it - not Adam but the guilt - and now realize it was time well spent and I continue to be just a bit obsessed with Adam and his exploits. No guilt, no reservations at all.
