There were a couple of posts the other day about different versions as to the origin of the Fire Fighters AU concert. This video has a few extra insights. At 1:41 ish the correspondent states organizers said the concept was brought up by Brian May in November. And Adam's sentences about ...QAL discussing options for how they could help...ie. a free concert, other options. Inquiring minds would be interested to know if Paul Dainty and team were also wondering how they could assist the country, and the two ideas --Brian/QAL teams thoughts and --Dainty's initiatives --fell into place easily, as great minds were thinking alike. There was an article about the Dainty team and them approaching QAL re the stage. That read as if Dainty reached out to Queen and Queen was easily on board, but not that Brian and group initiated. This seems like the same concept as Adam's connecting with Queen. How did it really happen? Maybe so many things happening from different parties, there is no straight line. All very mudded and I doubt I will ever really know if there was a direct line of causation. Haha Were there many different levels happening that conspired to initiate an Adam/ Queen connection? Adam comments on what if he had not chosen to sing BR for the Idol audition. To me that just got him on the show. Catching Spike's wife and in turn, Spike's attention, and passing on info to Roger etc etc. and friends contacting Brian about this singer on Idol, are comments that have been shared. The priducers aligned Queen for the finale-- now, was that an AI initiative or did Queen make a contact? ( rather hazy on that info).

Well...made my donation ...very easy through Paypal.
I hope they can raise enough money to start the critical initiatives to begin repairing Australia.
My province has had devastating fires, floods,or hail damage. Out of the top 10 most expensive natural disasters in Canadian history my province (Alberta) has remarkably been burdened with: -number 1 disaster in Canada -fire 2016, -second -flood in 2013, -fifth -fire 2011, -seventh 1991, and eighth 2014 --hail, -tenth -wind/rain.
Our province and people have had some first hand experience with restoration and redevelopment woes that now face Australia. This worldwide financial help will be a start. And ONLY A START.
It is one thing to raise money ...then another to process, make decisions and then allocate. đ€đ€đ€

Also, y'all are amazing! Regarding the zebra pants that Adam gave Bill Kowlitz, and Bill loves them and wears them all the time, how in the world did you ever find that segment where Adam ripped his pants & had to change into the zebra pants so quickly??? That happened in 2012 for goodness sake!! Unbelievable! So funny!!! Easy to remember because I was there....with many Atoppers from all over the world. (We had a dinner the night before...about 80 of us!) The pant splitting was hard to forget and I remembered the song because it was so appropriate...I Want to Break Free And he did! I WAS ONE of those 80. OMG were they 80 of us. It was a busy night trying to say hello to others, and figuring out who was who. So glad I went. And for sure I was there-- like you-- as I thought THIS WAS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY to see Adam perform with Queen. I made a vacation out of that trip--cost a fortune! Such amazing memories with ileanne. And here we are almost 8 years later with concerts FAR beyond those more humble productions. The cancellation of the 3 day Sonishpere music festival was in a way disappointing but with the soggy weather and the chance to see this show indoors, on the first night, dead center balcony-- second row....well darn awesome. (Talk about a week plus of needing an umbrella.) I got to enjoy the show in dry mode. I invited a guy in line to hunker under my umbrella as it started to pour while waiting in line the first night of the show. Well --it was all about the experience! haha Anyway, I was over the moon before during and after the performance. By chance bamafan was seated on my left, Q3 infront, Bob Geldorf and famous friends of Brian's behind me, and Adam's family and friends 3 rows back. With limited options for eats after the show we bumped into justkaren, didilynn and friend and had burgers together at MacDonald's of all places. LOL Great memories!

YES!! It is beyond wonderful for Adam to be able read this really powerful review of his role and partnership in the Queen business.

The Daily TelegraphQueen and Adam Lambert rock âRhapsodyâ concert ahead of Fire Fight Australia performanceQueen and Adam Lambert reclaimed their superiority as big gig royalty with their grandiose Rhapsody show at ANZ Stadium. When the rebooted band, with newly minted rock god Lambert stepping into Freddie Mercuryâs legendary frontman role, toured here two years ago they thrilled diehard fans with their arena shows. ..... The phenomenal box office success of the film not only reignited their enviable catalogue in the streaming era, it fuelled an inter-generational refresh of the audience eager to see then perform live. .....
When Lambert introduced his legendary partners in music â he has been working with them now for eight years â the roar was real.
And when he professed his fandom of Mercury â and gratitude for this once-in-a-lifetime singing gig and audience acceptance of him in this coveted frontman role â again, the fulsome cheers were full of bonhomie. ... There is certainly a mutual admiration society going on here as Lambertâs prodigious vocal and performance gifts have significantly contributed to the bandâs ongoing chart and concert box office fortunes.
Queen songs are engineered for stadiums - from the devilishly paced and vocal gymnastics of Somebody To Love to the frenetic rock opera of Killer Queen, this is glam rock on steroids. ... But the power of their performance in the worldâs stadiums in 2020, five decades after they began in the workers clubs of the UK, lies in the drama of Lambertâs dexterous voice, those melodies imprinted in our DNA and May and Taylorâs superlative skill and enduring enthusiasm for their day jobs.

I am ecstatic to read this post, with these kinds of kudos for Adam and the impact he has had on the legacy of Queen's music !!!!

Very interesting article on how Teg Dainty and group pulled together the Fire Fight Australia event. It truly seems every aspect of the event was donated. ( I would guess, some companies would cover the pay for their workers as their donation.) Amazingly huge effort, and donated time is described to pull this event together in such a short period of time. The "buy to view" should really add to the money raised. Best do the honorourable thing and pay to view. Has anyone found links, or do we need to wait until the end of February?? themusic.com.au/news/fire-fight-australia-behind-scenes-exclusive-queen-alice-cooper-5-seconds-summer-michael-buble/JhMyODs6PTw/14-02-20/Excerpt ... Many of TEGâs staff and their families and friends were affected personally by the bushfires and, like so many others, we were keen to do our bit. In late November, with the bushfire season still in its early throes, we spied the opportunity. Geoff and Paul had spoken about the idea of a Live Aid-style bushfire benefit. It would feature the very same band who had stolen the show at Wembley in 1985, a little group from England called Queen (now Queen + Adam Lambert). On February 15, Queen + Adam Lambert would be playing ANZ Stadium in Sydneyâs Olympic Park as part of their global Rhapsody Tour, promoted by TEG Dainty. They were back to the top of their game and big as ever in the wake of the hit movie Bohemian Rhapsody. On paper, it seemed we had the infrastructure, the iconic act, and the opportunity - in tragic circumstances - to create something special that could galvanise many other acts to join the bill and make a difference. Paul made a call to the bandâs manager, Jim Beach, and, to our immense gratitude, they were supportive from the word go. The same was true of Michael BublĂ© and Alice Cooper, who were also due to be in Australia with TEG Dainty and TEG Live respectively at that time.

Welcome! Such an exciting time to begin sharing in the Adam journey through Adamtopia. 2020 is going to be one busy year and looking forward to your participation. New voices contributing with news or comments keeps the site active and lively. Amazing the directions Goggle will take youđđ! Was it Queen or Adam, or the QAL TEAM that drew you into your concert purchase? aw, thanks for the warm welcome (suzysuzy qt, too)! it was all of the above! like for so many, Queen's music has been in my life since childhood. Adam's music is a more recent discovery for me, he has the MOST AMAZING VOICE I HAVE EVER HEARD and he seems like a really stellar human being, what's not to like? I'm a huge music fan and love going to shows, though I don't go out as much on school nights (not in school but I spent fully have my life there and that's how I still refer to weeknights) so try to go to shows when I'm traveling. I saw Muse in Copenhagen last September (same venue where QAL is playing this summer, great arena for a show), am counting the seconds til QAL Berlin and hope to be able to make it to Hamburg to see Adam make his solo magic (if not, will definitely cross my fingers for a concert in the Pacific NW later this year). peace, love and music, y'all! I always find it interesting to learn or garner insights into our community members. I seriously had a chuckle when I read your bolded words. The age demographics here are so varied. Some are still in school/post secondary. Others have retired from education related careers. For more than half my life ..."school nights" were a reality. đTo me they are more than nights after school...homework/jobs can extend into the nights!!!! Now I happily sometimes have to check my calendar as to the day's actual date. Haha

Brisbane review: a few parts shared below. This author wrote of some good vibes coming from the concert and yet was quite critical in other parts ...especially writing about the 5 min "boring" solo of May in the pouring rain. (Maybe the rain was drizzling down his neck. I guess a 2 hr 15 production in the rain was not his cup of tea.) "It takes quite a spectacle to cut through two hours of unrelenting rain, but for the most part, this singularly spectacular British rock band handled the task with aplomb. .....Taylor is a fine drummer, and what he lacks in flair he more than makes up for in dependency. Backed by a percussionist, bassist and keyboardist, this quartet was in the pocket for the entire show, leaving May to noodle high up the fretboard to his heartâs content while Lambertâs remarkable instrument effortlessly delivered melody after classic melody. Itâs still a tricky, layered creation that could just as easily collapse under the weight of pomp and excess, but the band did exactly what was needed while the stadium turned into the Southern Hemisphereâs largest karaoke bar for six or so minutes. The encore bracket consisted yet more massive singalongs in We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions, and it became hard to imagine a casual fan of the band â or a viewer of the 2018 film â walking away less than impressed.
At two hours and 15 minutes, it was a bloated show that could have easily cut some fat. But minimalism has never been Queenâs forte, and such complaints are churlish given that this could well be the last go-around for the two surviving members: May is 72 and Taylor is 70, yet commendably, neither man seems capable of phoning it in.
The Rhapsody Tour, then, highlights what Queen has always been: a good band with a handful of truly great songs." www.theaustralian.com.au/arts/music/review-queens-rhapsody-tour-in-brisbane-with-new-frontman-adam-lambert/news-story/d0cac323f89a8e3170a121baebea09f7
