mszue Great spread of songs you suggested for “revisiting”. I almost forgot how much I loved Superpower. Still do. Had to remind myself that it was my favorite song on Velvet (with Loverboy and Ready to Run close seconds). It took Adam a while to release that song as he wanted to wait til the summer - 3 other singles came out beforehand. In hindsight, wouldn’t SP have been a fabulous Pride song?

I finally broke down and got the TikTok App, though I am not a fan. Too much!! However, I liked Adam's video and commented on it as he seems to be struggling in terms of "playing the game" and connecting on social media. I told him that for me a cool song IS enough, though I do think that vulnerability here and there and "letting fans in" a bit is helpful, similar to the honesty and realness in his latest IG video. I also suggested no more "shit in his face" to cover up his lip freckles. As he was asking, I told him that I would love to see more of his comedic talent in short clips.
I don't think Adam should wreck his brain over curating a more diverse fandom. If what he posts feels genuine, fans will likely take to it.

While Adam doesn’t want to be boxed into a specific musical genre, I think he has made it pretty clear as of late that his new music will reflect the type of music that he himself is mostly listening to within his circles and his community, and we got a taste of it with WD.
As far as I remember, Adam has always had a soft spot for pop music and he hardly ever mentioned wanting to go rock leaning, despite push in that direction as early on as Idol as well as from some of his fans.
Wasn’t it prior to the TP era that his label wanted him to do an 80’s cover album but instead Adam decided to executive produce Trespassing? I think that he has always made the music that he felt most passionate about and that he has explored over the years and within each album various genres. Lucky us! My biggest issue is that most of the time I didn’t consider the promoted singles his best songs while other times, especially with Velvet, the album rollout felt a bit anti-climactic to me. And that was before Covid hit.
As I am thinking of all the great music over the years, my favorite “single” to date is probably Ghost Town. It holds a bit of a sentimental value as I danced to it in a club(!) when my son graduated from college haha. That was a while ago. The kids loved that song.

I caught Adam’s IG live toward the end and wasn’t too surprised to learn that he pulled out of The Wild due to creative differences, though I am surprised that Oliver is still “hosting” Venom. None of my business, thankfully. However, I am embarrassed for Adam that he confused Roger with Brian.
Adam looks good and I am thrilled to know that stuff is coming up!! I love dance music as it gets me in the groove when walking and exercising and road tripping, so no complaints here especially if it’s good. Thankfully, I often can’t quite pick up suggestive lyrics 😉
At this point in his career, I think Adam is wise to pursue what makes him happy. Good thing that he positioned himself pretty well for it given QAL and doing a variety of things. Did he say that he will do some shows this summer?? Darn it, I was hoping for it for Halloween, so I guess I have to push off my summer travel plans for a bit (or keep my fingers crossed)

Best part was when Kimmel read T’s tweet out loud at the end of the show, “thanked” him for watching and said, “.. but isn’t it past your jail time?”
Okay. Enough with politics from me.

svca, I like all sorts of music, and I like to work out to dance club songs here and there, but I am not into the raunchy stuff. For me, Adam is the master of emotive ballads although he can pull off other genres as well. When it comes to his Mardi Gras performance, I am happy for him that he got to perform for his community.

We’ll see about the remaining songs on the album and I will keep an open mind. I do like dance clubby songs to a certain degree, however “a soundtrack to my real life social scene” might be a vibe that I can’t identify with.

svca and girldrummer, I am thrilled for Adam that he had the opportunity to perform for his community the way he wanted to, and I think he nailed it. It looks like it was well received and a great success - well deserved as Adam clearly put work and thoughts into it. In my opinion, it is best to ignore a few select naysayers.

I have to say... I spit out my tea last night when the unfiltered birthday candle video appeared on my feed, as I had missed that one on Adam's birthday when I just quickly browsed the most recent page. I had only seen the filtered version at that time and I assume that my comment must have felt a bit silly. girldrummer, now I understand what you meant by O. not being shy. I am surprised that the video was obviously posted by one of the party people and re-posted on X by one of Adam's most dedicated fans.
