OT. What a homegoing service for Aretha Franklin. Well deserved. All day coverage.

I think the color scheme for Vegas is going to be purple and gold...custom made should not be a problem 😉👍 Oh great, looking forward to seeing his outfits, purple is my favorite color! I can't wait til my Vegas show on the 5th of September. Have this top (purple large fishscale sequins) that deserves to go to Vegas. Wore it in Philly, but it'll do well in Vegas.

Love Sly and the Family Stone. I have their LP as well. I also love Sly and the Family Stone. I'm a breast cancer survivor, and the facilitator for a support group that I belong to worked as a musical tech for a while in California (she now lives in New Mexico). She worked a lot with Sly and the Family Stone (probably was involved with that LP you mention), and says that Sly was just the most wonderful guy to work with. God bless you for being a breast cancer survivor. My Mother was also, but cancer led to her demise 27 years later. I recall being allowed to attend the shows at the Uptown Theatre in North Philadelphia. For $.25 cents for the matinee you saw on average 6 acts. Little Stevie Wonder, the O'Jays, the Whispers, the Dells, the Delfonics etc. At night I think you saw Moms Mabley and still more acts. I recall hiding in the theatre after the matinee let out, so as to see the next show. Adults paid I think $1.00 for their evening show. But that big show I attended with my sister was the first one at the Civic Center featuring Sly and the Family Stone and I recall being terrified when she went to the bathroom, wondering how my parents would ever find me. If only those prices were now. LOL

First concert was Sly and the Family Stone in Philadelphia. My sister took me.

I like the John Deacon deep cuts. One Year of Love and Pain is so close to pleasure.

I ran across this article which pertains to one of yesterday's discussions. Apparently, Freddie did considered Mary to be his common-law wife. www.thevintagenews.com"Freddie and Mary spent at least seven years living together and, reportedly, he said that she was the only person he truly loved and took home to meet his parents, declaring her as his “common-law” wife." At the time of Freddie's death, he'd lived with Jim Hutton for 6-7 years and was buried wearing a ring given to him by Jim Hutton. Jim Hutton said he'd driven Freddie to visit with his parents often. But Mary Austin was called his common law wife by Freddie.

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see anyone wondering why Salt N Pepa (86-87) or En Vogue (89) were performing, not having had new music in a decade plus?

I am trying for the 5th or the 19th also. I think 4EverAdam has an extra ticket for the 5th in your price range. These tickets can be electronically transferred to another person within Ticketmaster (except for the VIP tickets). Thanks so much. Have messaged her.

Can't afford much more than a basic Vegas ticket, but just called Park Theatre ticket office and was quoted $94.43, $114.88 and $168.19, which includes all fees. Didn't bother asking for the next prices, etc., because I'm not in that ballpark. Ticket office phone was 844-600-7275. I am determined to go to this as my summer outing. I decided to be frugal this time, found there were lots of front row balcony seats available for my date (September 5), $120 including fees. I know that doesn't work for the ones who want to be up front, but it gives a great overall view with no one in front of you blocking that view. I am trying for the 5th or the 19th also.
