Good morning! HLN Morning Express with Robin Meade, a few minutes ago.... a story about Queen releasing a new album with Freddie music. Shows a few clips of Freddie singing and quote from Brian May about the process. Finishes the story by mentioning the 18 city tour Queen is embarking on with Adam Lambert. She made some nice comments about Adam. Something like... 'Who better to do it than Adam Lambert' and 'if you've ever heard any of their stuff he's done, he's amazing.' And also a comment about his range. ETA: They recycle their stories every 30 minutes or so. Just heard it again but with a few different ad-lib comments about Adam. This time she said 'Adam really does a good job with those vocals, because those are tough vocals!' I think the show is on for several more hours so it will be mentioned throughout the broadcast.

My favorite Adam moment is very easy for me to pick. I love it as much for how it made me feel, as I do for how I think it made Adam feel. It was the Glam Nation Tour and I was lucky enough to attend numerous concerts. Each one was better than the next. It was a musical journey and a friendship journey -- I met so many wonderful people over the course of that summer/fall. I would go to the concert and then go right home and watch all the youtube videos too. There were so many moments to anticipate and enjoy during the live show but they were just as fun to watch again (and again...) on video - the first notes of voodoo, the Fever Tommy kiss, the high note in Fever, that beautiful quiet moment in Soaked, the "thanks for loving me" in WWFM, and the pure joy of IIHY. When the end of the tour came and the two shows in LA were announced, I did everything I could to get there. The first of the two shows was at the Music Box and it was awesome. Those special moments I'd come to expect throughout the concert were just as wonderful as always. But then the unexpected happened. During IIHY after introducing the band, Adam asked us to all sing along as he usually did, but then when he yelled for us to "juuump" a cannon of confetti exploded and it was like an Adam Lambert tornado of awesomeness and I was right in the middle of it. Confetti, his voice, the dancers, the audience, the jumping. It was pure joy and love, and I felt it down to my toes. As much as I was enjoying the moment for myself, I was so freaking happy that he got his confetti!! Thinking about that moment always makes me grin from ear to ear. We got fire the next night and it was awesome too, but being in the middle of the tornado at the music box was the bomb! You can see the moment I'm talking about at the end of this video. I've really enjoyed hearing about everyone's experiences. Adam has touched us all in so many ways. I took this picture in the middle of the moment. If you click on it to enlarge it you get a better sense of it. Attachments:

Maybe I can't read but where did you see the percentage that goes to the artist? theosgma The following paragraph from the "rockandrollguru" article makes a general statement about it. I've been reading quite a few articles the past couple days though, and I know there was more specific info about percentages the artists receive in other articles. Something in the 75% and up neighborhood. I will see if I can find those other articles. Below is a breakdown of who gets paid for putting on a concert. The band (or entertainer) takes a majority of the money, and rightfully so. They are the talent. They should be paid for entertaining us. However, there are many other people involved in producing a concert. They get paid as well. And that money all comes out of the sale of tickets.

I'm happy and smiling but this ticket-buying is kinda crazy! Sounds like there were some successes but frustrations too, which pretty much describes my experience so far. I was able to get two tickets for NY and I sort of lucked into those because of a helpful tip that was posted on Atop. I also tried for Chicago tix. I have five casual fans that want to go to the Chicago concert with me, which is really exciting but I found getting six decent tickets impossible this morning. I will try again Friday and am more prepared now to take what I can get. I was just looking at Stubhub and they have over 1,000 tickets for Chicago alone!! can that be right? That just does not make sense to me and it is a little LOT frustrating! (I don't know anything about how Stubhub works and I don't want to post inaccurate info so, anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong.) THANK YOU to all who've been posting information and tips for purchasing - it's been soooo helpful!! And good luck to you if you're still trying. Oh, and "hello" to the tiny humanoid. I miss your posts.
