That video of Adam singing "The Joke" a year ago is stunning! Don't remember if I have seen that one before, so thanks so much for posting it. Wow! And that picture above is true eye candy!

Happy, just saw your post from two days ago with the CBC video about the Mariner's Cathedral in Detroit ringing the bell 30 times instead of 29 times in Gordon Lightfoot's honor. Thanks so much! I'm just catching up - I replied to your post, but not sure how to bring that over into today's thread.
I'm still watching Adam's Idol performance repeatedly, and anytime "Muffin Man" is mentioned, I go into constant reruns!

Happy, thank you so much for this post (I just saw your post, as I'm a bit behind!). How fitting that they rang the bell thirty times at the Mariner's Cathedral in Detroit in honor of Gordon. So moving how Gordon kept in touch over many years with the family members of the sailors who were lost on the Edmund Fitzgerald. I visited the Whitefish Point Museum on Lake Superior in Michigan many years ago where artifacts from the Edmund Fitzgerald were displayed. Gordon's song was playing while you visited that exhibit - a very moving experience. The Canadian Railway Trilogy is also one of my very favorites. Hope your daughter is enjoying her trip!

OT but I had to mention the death of Gordon Lightfoot, Canada’s folk music icon. I listened to his albums over and over again in the 70’s. For some reason, this song was one of my favourites — very wistful with lovely imagery. www.youtube.com/watch?v=im6g0lMBQ7wThanks for mentioning this Happy. I was very saddened to hear the news of his passing this morning, as I was always a devoted Gordon Lightfoot fan. I was fortunate to have seen him several times in concert over the years. Even as his voice was fading with age, he still could command a stage with his wonderful songs. And he always had a fantastic band with him. What a talented songwriter and performer! "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" was always a favorite of mine, as I'm originally from Michigan, and my Dad was an avid boatman. We cruised all of the Great Lakes when I was younger, and I even saw the freighter "Edmund Fitzgerald" when we were going through the locks between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. I used to write down the names of all the freighters we saw on our many boat trips. Back to Adam - what a fantastic performance on Idol!!! And he is such a wonderful mentor - sure wish he could be an Idol judge. It would certainly improve the show!

I just googled Adam Lambert/The Voice finale/Believe to refresh my memory and wow(!) he looked like a movie star indeed when he performed that duet in 2019. I wanted to bring it over but couldn't figure out how as the video popped up on TV Guide. Looks wise that performance reminds me of the CMA appearance with Leona L. As Adam likes to change things up, I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Sunday lol Took some searching, lol! still takes my breath away. Wish he could have brought that to the Idol stage. HA. www.imdb.com/video/vi3680943897/Thanks so very much for posting that Voice finale video! I hadn't seen that one in a long time, and Adam did indeed look so beautiful and that duet was so wonderful. Also can't wait to see Adam on Idol. He is such a great mentor with so many helpful comments, and he really relates to the contestants in such a positive way. Also remember the Katy Perry cape! Have to say I also didn't care for the hair extensions and outfit when he mentored on Queen night. Hope we're not TOO surprised by his look this time around - would love to see him looking similar to his appearance on TMJ (or on this Voice finale). Still have "Muffin Man" rolling around in my head constantly! I too like the guy from Hawaii, but like sizzling, my favorites never win. But look how far coming in second place took our Adam!

Muffin Man's explosive success is due to it being a silly children's song that lots of people know combined with Adam doing it with a spot-on Cher imitation along with givig it all his glorious camp. It's so simple to sing. There are hardly any lyrics. It's wonderfully repetitive so you can do all sorts of silly antics with it. Adam hit the bulls-eye on this one. It's just plain fun. And it sounds like some people are just now discovering Adam with this song. Whatever it takes. LOL I'm sure Fallon is aware of the fact that it went viral. Adam's segment on TMJ is getting tons of hits. I agree that Adam hit the bulls-eye on this one! Thanks Jablea for posting the link to all the Tik-Tok videos. So many of them made me laugh really hard - a good way to start my day! I have "Muffin Man" rolling around in my head constantly - it's a very contagious song. People discovering Adam is a wonderful thing, even if it takes a silly parody of Cher and "Believe". Even my DH loved it when I showed him the video from TMJ. He couldn't believe how much Adam sounded like Cher. Adam is so incredibly talented! He never ceases to amaze me, time and time again.

Just bought a ticket to the second QAL concert in St. Paul. Went much more smoothly than my first attempt! Wasn't forced to pay an exorbitant price for a Platinum ticket (like I had to do in Denver). Was able to get a Superfan package seat on Brian's side near the stage off the floor in the third row (I have a terrible time standing for an entire concert). Much easier to get one ticket vs 2. My dear DH is coming with me to the first St. Paul show, but told me to go for one ticket for the second show so I could get a better seat. He is such a gem!! So excited!!
Wishing good luck to any of you trying to buy tickets this morning!
And what is this absolute BS with Texas?!!! Hope that doesn't influence the Dallas QAL shows! Lived many years ago in Texas, and i have a sister and brother-in-law who live in Houston. I'll be zooming with them on Sunday, and I'm sure they are outraged.

This was by far the WORST Ticketmaster buying experience ever!!! I was trying for three cities - St. Paul, Dallas and Denver, Trying to buy tickets for both St. Paul and Dallas at the same time was a nightmare. Had 2000+ people in the queue before me in all three cities even though I was there at 10 AM. Having to verify your account takes time - when did Ticketmaster start that? Luckily in St. Paul I was able to grab two seats in a side section close to the stage three rows apart (my DH is coming to St. Paul and Dallas with me; I am going to Denver by myself). I don't like floor seats because I have difficulty standing through a whole concert, but that's all I could get in Dallas - a ways back from the thrust. I can't even count the number of times I got the message " another fan got these seats already" or some such message at all three venues - SO frustrating!
Denver was by far the very worst. I was almost to number 1 in the queue when I got kicked off "due to an error" TWICE, and had to start all over. Found a really good seat, but then the texting to verify my credit card wasn't working properly, and the "call me" option kept disconnecting me! By this time I finally found a platinum seat that isn't that great at an exorbitant price, but decided to grab it. This time the purchase went through.
I never had this kind of trouble when buying from Ticketmaster through presales. They are such a racket preying on the ticket buying public. Wish I had known about the extra shows before spending over two hours buying tickets - it definitely could have changed my plans. But I am very grateful that I'm able to see QAL three times in case this is their last NA tour. Hopefully those of you who still want tickets will be able to obtain them.
Mszue, so sorry to hear your sad news. After you see your veterinarian and perhaps have more info on what is going on, message me if you'd like.

Whew! I was relieved when he finally appeared. The stand-up chat was just fine. Maybe he did cut short a bit because of Ed, but that's ok. His performance was balls-out and totally great. Great outfit! Now, on to The View later today. I too was relieved when he finally appeared (I'm on Mountain time) - I fell back asleep for a bit and was worried I had missed him! He sounded wonderful as usual, even though the intro was very short. Loved when he hit those high notes! I also loved when he commented on his eye make-up. I find the eye make-up a little distracting because it masks his beautiful eyes somewhat. However, it does give him a very glam look. Yes, as I understand it, he is on The View tomorrow, and on Jimmy Fallon tonight. All this promo is hard to keep up with! He must be exhausted, but remains our true rock star!

Wow, that was certainly a fun concert!!! "West Coast" wasn't one of my favorites on the album until hearing him sing it live today. Some of the notes he reached during that song were other-worldly. I'm always just amazed how his live renditions are so often even better than the recordings! And so loved his live version of "My Attic" - one of my favorites from the album.
Yes, Trespassing memories indeed! I was one of those fans dressed up in yellow and black (including yellow and black tape on my shoes) when I saw him in concert at the Arizona State Fair.
I so appreciate live streams, and used my HDMI cable to watch it on my big screen TV. Technology can be a very wonderful thing! Now looking forward to his performance on AGT tonight, GMA and Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday and The View on Thursday. As I told my DH "I am overwhelmed with Adam goodness!".
