I wonder if some people even realize what they're witnessing. Of course, it's not Freddie. We all know that. What they are experiencing, vibrating through their bones, is the music of Queen and the voice of Adam. Would Freddie make the marrow shake? I don't know. I'll never know, so we'll leave it. Let's just talk about THIS. Let's make the conversation about the spectacle we've just seen. And what you've seen, buddies, is Adam Fucking Lambert take you into his hand; twist you and wring you out; and fling you to the heights. He's carried the hopes of Brian and Roger on his broad shoulders; he's assured them, and the crew - everyone from the guys who assemble the stage and lock in the lights, to the people who lay the tape and bring the water and watch the lines - that he can do this. He will bring us out of ourselves; we'll stomp and sway, sing and cry. We will be brought into the exquisite moment of being. This is his promise. And it happens, every night. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Adam. What a beautiful tribute from you. Makes me shiver and tear up. And it's so true.

Hi Talon and Q3, Just wanted to briefly drop in and say that whatever I lhave shared with people about Queen that has made them smile even sometimes in amazement haha- a lot I have learned from ypur discourses here, thank you! Esp in the very beginnings of QAL. I'm no connoisseur, that's for sure, but am now looking forward to at least my Queen Monopoly set 🎸 and the 3D book.

Late to the game but need to also say thank you to all the wonderful people who make up this site. 👯. Adamtopia is on permanent tab on my laptop and phone, and even if I don't get the chance to post often, I read as often as I can. Lucky to have Adam as the handsome glue that bonds us. 🤗

Dear fellow Atoppers in the US, We are a world away but we feel a sadness and grief so deep after hearing about your election outcomes as if something precious had been lost. Just the ay before, the Supreme Court of my country of birth voted to allow our late dictator of a president who plundered our country and was ousted by popular revolt to be buried in our national Heroes' Cemetery. We blackened our twitter and fb posts as a sign of protest. Two heartbreaking back-to-back events. Take care everyone and warm hugs to all!!! 🙅

My QAL BKK recap Part2 - feel free to scroll 😅 The gates opened at 730pm and we were first in at ours, checkers didn't ban our cameras and selfie stick, though they kept our water bottles. We had great seats, almost perpendicular to the end of the catwalk and not more than 20ms?? away! I think I saw Pete Malandrino talking to a crew on stage and looking over at the early crowd. At 830pm, the scheduled start, the arena was not full, esp the far bleachers. The crowd started to whistle, wave, clap and do the WWRY stomp. In our zone, we were surrounded by expats. I told DD it would only really start when they show the video of Adam, Dr Bri walking from backstage. Finally it started at 9pm. Since I sort of knew the setlist and overall "routine," I feared I would be stuck at a cerebral level and not fully immerse in the experience. But I vowed to at least memorize the first line of SSR. So when the curtain lifted, there was a collective gasp and DD and I jumped at the first note! I was engulfed by the bright, so very clear lights, Adam's presence and Queen's eternal music. Sorry to the 2 British gentlemen to our left, we couldn't help ourselves. Everyone I could see was dancing and/or singing, I think also helped by the beer. Perhaps Adam saw this was a mainly adult crowd, he was playful and sexy with the mic and mic stand and his word play on "Bangkok." It was so funny to watch what he did with the stage fan-wind machine. I think there was a similar discussion here on how prepared he is for a performance now; may I agree that it was a delightful mix of the studied and the spontaneous.
After a set of songs, DD and I told each other to sit out the next songs so we could rest our voices. But the band came out with AOBTD, which was our favorite fast song, so we jumped right back and sang louder lol!
I am sorry, Seoulmate and other Dr. Bri stans, I also love him to bits like I do Adam. Roger is a handsome beast. DD was rooting-hooting for Rufus.
Dr. Bri introduced Adam as the "young man," no longer the new guy and people cheered. I'm not sure how long average time is before the band comes back for the encore, but it seemed interminable to us, the crowd.
After the band exit around 11pm, we took more pictures, including with Japanese Freddie and the sad load-out. The VIP floor was wet with beer. The local band started singing Queen songs again as the spirited crowd poured out. There was a small brawl among some teens in the parking lot and that distracted people looking for a cab back to BKK so we managed to get a ride easier than expected. Off to the skybar for the postmortem.
Next day, our hotel manager asked about the concert and we said it was great but not sold out we think. He thought the tickets were expensive esp for locals and was not sure how popular Queen is in Thailand. A funny event-when a cab driver asked us why we were in BKK, we said to watch Queen but we took some time to explain before he understood it was a band and not Her Royal Highness, the wife of the Thai king.
As our common affliction, hope to see QAL again!

Finally, RL has given me a break, here's my QAL BKK recap - mods, pls move to appropriate thread, hope to add pics Part1-feel free to scroll 😜 Our (DD's and my) journey started with a rather nervous purchase of tickets. Even at that first hour, most of the VIP floor seats were gone, we wanted the barrier seats where Adam was likely to come down during Radio Gaga. At that time, the ticket site said VIP seats had access to F&B bar and choice of 1 merch. We opted to get the next tier tickets which were on the bleachers since we anticipated people couldn't help but dance/sing and that would block our view on the floor. The on-stage VVIP tickets were announced much later, and anyway my DD said we probably couldn't restrain ourselves either from singing/dancing and that would be too embarrassing on stage 👯, especially if the stagehands had to do the restraining.😱🙃
Our hotel manager advised us to leave for Impact Arena early, since concert day was a Friday and payday and there was the usual BKK traffic. We arrived around 330pm, it was too early! We walked around to check our gates and saw the empty VIP lounges, the merch stand said they would open at 4pm. While walking around, we heard what DD thought was QAL music being streamed but it was clearly soundcheck which a staff confirmed. With WWTLF. I knew Adam's voice would be great and powerful and controlled but I didn't expect it to be that pure. I couldn't record clearly because down the walkway a local band commissioned by the event's beer company partner was performing Queen and other rock songs. We tried to get as near to the source as possible but then it started to rain with matching thunder and lightning! 🌩⚡️so we tweeted Adam that thunderbolt and lightning won't stop us now!! lol
We went for a snack and then early dinner, we couldn't find a lounge or spa in the building to while away our time. People started to trickle in before 6pm. Our gate was near the ticket booth, some 15 people were lined up. Overall crowd was a mix of expats and locals and from my limited view, mainly over 20 yo crowd though a couple of expats had their below 10 yo kids.

Dear Atoppers! In BKK it's hard to find the downtime to make a proper recap of QAL - one is either engulfed in the sensory overload that is BKK, or getting contemplative in this mainly Buddhist country, or having a massage that has made your brain and fingers too limp to write. So pls excuse me if I will write the longer recap in a few days after I get home. Let me just say these after watching QAL live: 1. Even without their 2 original bandmates, it is impossible to begrudge Dr. Bri and Roger the opportunity to perform the music that they have lived, the music that they are because their joy is obvious, as many of you have said. 2. My daughter and I bow in respect to these 3 guys who hold themselves to steep standards of performance and delivering a show. 3. Despite other people's experience, we were able to bring in our cameras and her selfie stick. We have videos though most have been overpowered by daughter's singing. She was so happy.
Warm regards 🌞!

Hi all, thanks especially to sizzling63, betty, satisfied, 4EverAdam, wal, Q3 and adamrocks for the nice welcomes. I was trying to bring over the images for the Impact Arena seating plan and seats available/sold as of the moment but internet is slow and the instructions/icon bar isn't coming up. Maybe someone who would like to can go over to the thaiticketmajor site. There are still seats on the floor (no moshpit here) and some sections but the VIP on stage seats costing around US$1300 are gone. Seating capacity at Impact Arena for this seating plan is around 12,500.
I would love to share with you a recap, we plan to go to one of the skybars postconcert, though I'm not sure I have recovered from the dizzying experience of QAL by then. 😳
