OK, I hate to do this (quote myself), but I'm thinking this question is gonna get lost on the first page right in between birthday wishes Does anybody know what this was about re: Priscilla Presley? Did somebody pose that question to Priscilla Presley on Twitter, or did she just say that on her own? Is there a context for that quote? I'm just curious how it happened that she said that, because I watched that Brian May interview yesterday when he said about Adam: "he is the next Elvis", and now this from Priscilla Presley - "Elvis would have liked him".... How coincidental is that! Or, maybe something is in the air.... I'm referring to this from the opening post: The posted questions are from her FaceBook page and from her Twitter. www.facebook.com/ms.priscilla.presley/posts/1060760600620474twitter.com/Cilla_Presley/status/621325806707445760There is no tweet asking her those questions immediately prior to her answers that I can see. I'm sure she's been asked those questions many times though. It looks like she poses a question then answers it every day or two.

I'm way behind and enjoying the new vids. Had to comment on the pic because it belongs in the Adam/Elvis file.

I'm sure you hear more differences than I do, but I hear enough to know he's live. For a casual fan, it's much harder to tell he's singing live when he's got a backing track. To perform completely live he needs his own band. What else?? Does he need back-up singers? Maybe I'm not giving them proper credit, but I never thought that past back-up singers helped much with the vocals. To me they were more like stage props. You hear the differences between live and studio, of course. You are a die-hard Glambert, after all. My comment was that non-Glamberts would probably think he was lip-syncing. I am not sure how he is going to perform these songs live in concert. There are very few band instruments on most of the tracks. It is mainly synth and electronics, from what I recall. I guess the songs could be adapted to be played on guitars and keyboards, but it would sound much different. As to the back-up singers, that is tricky, too. There are many layers of vocals on the tracks, all done by Adam, I read. So, if you want a totally live concert, you have to find singers who can handle that range. Male? Probably not. Female? Yes, but it will sound much different. I think that Adam may go with a totally non-traditional set up where he has a few live musicians, but uses backing tracks without trying to hide it. He may do something very creative to emphasize that this is not your normal rock band; it is new and hip. Of course, I have no idea what that might be, but I have faith in him. I know what you meant and thanks for responding so quickly. I appreciate all of your thoughts on the subject. I really don't have a clue as to what's possible.

Watching the Session videos again. I like his voice so much better live than in the studio. (Guess I said that before once or twice.) This time it dawned on me that non-Glamberts, who haven't memorized every note and breath of the studio version, would probably think Adam was lip-syncing on these videos. There are shots of the faux-singers and fake keyboard and guitar playing that are rather obvious. Even if you don't have the sense of pitch and the experience playing guitar or piano in order to tell it ain't real, when a guitarist is strumming and there is no guitar sound or when a drummer is playing and there is no drum beat, most folks are gonna figure it out. It looks much more like a music video than a live performance. Then, there is the fact that Adam sounds sooooo good. So perfect. Most live pop singers don't sound like that live. So, of course he must be lip-syncing. I am not complaining. I actually like this version of GT better than the official music video. And his voice on TOH especially, is yummy. It's all good. I think folks will really like what they see. They just won't appreciate HOW good Adam is to sing like that live. I'm sure you hear more differences than I do, but I hear enough to know he's live. For a casual fan, it's much harder to tell he's singing live when he's got a backing track. To perform completely live he needs his own band. What else?? Does he need back-up singers?
