Still no Fault today. Does anyone have any thoughts on how long I should wait until I try to contact them? This mag was pricey. I'm curious how many others are still waiting and what is considered reasonable. :-/

Many of the Queen fans who don't like the idea of Adam singing with the band have praised Marc Martel - which makes sense, because he's a good singer - but it makes me wonder if the Queen diehards prefer him over Adam because his vocal tones sound eerily close to Freddie's. Is that what they want, a Mercury sound-alike? Even if the singer has none of Freddie's emotion?
Speaking only for myself, I'd rather hear Adam, with all of his vocal powers and ability to deliver songs with passion, interpreting the Queen music catalog in his own unique, fresh way. With all due respect to Marc, the music deserves to be sung by someone who offers more than a copy (although it's a very good copy) of the Freddie sound. There can be only one Mercury. Just like there's only one AFL.I think they like Martel because He is safe! He is imitating Freddie! Although his voice is fantastic, he lacks the emotion and soul that both Freddie and Adam sing those songs with. IMO, they are scared shitless of Adam. They are afraid he will sound better and get high praise. How would we feel if we finally heard someone else sing WWFM better than Adam?! :-/ This is why it it so savvy and smart of Adam to present Queen's music the way he plans to: giving the songs life with his own interpretation, paying homage to Freddie, but NOT imitating him. This allows fans (of both Queen and Adam) to avoid the potential embarrassment of comparisons. No one needs to feel hurt. When Adam's vocals awe and amaze, it won't diminish Freddie in the eyes of his fans because Adam's performance will be different. Apples and oranges. Likewise, Adam can avoid backlash if their performances are picked apart and compared because they won't be copies of each other. The songs will stand on their own.

OMG, WHAT A DAY! I LAUGHED, I CRIED, I FLAILED, I QVELLED!
What I am loving right now is the realization that these radio sponsored gigs are just on a whole different level than for the FYE era. DJs are now so respectful and complimentary (no snark), young fans are screaming and singing along, engaged in Adam's awesomeness. And is it true that TP cd's are for sale at these events?? WIN, WIN, WIN!! ;D ;D ;D

I love NPR, it's my radio station of choice whenever I am driving. (Except recently when I blast Trespassing CD- car copy . Even though the interview was short, it covered enough bases so that Adam's intelligence and talent were apparent to the casual listener. Maybe I am making assumptions, but I believe that the demographic of NPR listeners tends to be more liberal, open minded and educated. I am hoping that they give Adam some consideration and hopefully make a purchase.

Jumping to the end of the thread to add my outrage about the EW article. >:( If we are past discussing it, please forgive me. I wrote to Glaad (thanks for posting the link earlier). This is what I wrote: I was saddened and disappointed today to read a homophobic review of Adam Lambert's new CD Trespassing on Entertainment Weekly On-line. I do not take issue with a reviewer not liking an album. Melissa Maerz is entitled to her opinion regardless of how uninformed it is. (If you read the comment section, you will quickly see how full of inaccuracies the article is). I do take issue with the rude, homophobic remarks that make assumptions about Adam, the gay community, and what type of music gay artists are supposed to make. The article is demeaning, insulting and mocks Adam Lambert based on who the writer thinks he is. I have a gay son who is an Adam fan but I will not let him see this article as it borders on bullying. Please read the article (see link). Is there anything that can be done? I feel hurt for my son, for Adam, and for all others in the LGBT community who continue to be judged their orientation first (based on narrow minded stereotypes), and their qualities and characters second, if at all. www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20594232,00.html Thank you in advance for reviewing my comment. I feel a little better now for having vented. :-/

I'm about a dozen pages behind on reading here, but couldn't contain myself any longer and had to jump to the end to erupt a little bit! I have spent every spare minute during the last 2 days riveted to this site. I am just so overwhelmed. I feel guilty. I feel I need to apologize to Adam. I am so invested in this man, that the anxiety leading up to Trespassing almost physically hurt. I want everything for him, all the success and accolades that he deserves, yet in my heart of hearts, a little nagging voice wondered if he is truly as remarkable as I imagined. He is gifted in so many ways, but this album is his own baby, his own creative process over which he had so much control. I had so much angst. I was so worried about the final product. What if Trespassing was (whispered voice) a disappointment? Well OH MY GOD. What a fool I was. I SO UNDERESTIMATED THIS MAN!!! HE IS BEYOND, HE IS THE EPITOME, HE IS PLENTY!!! TRESPASSING IS ON A WHOLE OTHER DIMENSION PAST MY EXPECTATIONS!!! I thought I knew who he was before. Turns out I didn't know him at all. It's as if I was looking at him all this time yet was not really getting him, missing something that was always there, right in front of me. He is just SO MUCH MORE. I am in awe. I have no words. Forgive me Adam.
