On first listen of the CD, I had the same reaction. After many listens, I discovered that I REALLY LOVE the former intro (which is now the middle) - "Give me time to realize my crime". I tend to skip to it on concert videos, and then listen to the rest and I like the experience. But on the CD, the whole song is too flat and repeating, so yeah, you are not alone. I had a similar issue with West Coast (which my wife really hates and I have to skip when playing the album in the car - Sex On Fire is her jam), but I very much like the live performances. I guess he should have done more than one take in the studio... that's actually a perfect description...it sounds too flat. Love the music and rhythm on the original. Don't like West Coast at all...I suppose I should find the original and see if I prefer it lol. As you will discover if you google Lana Del Rey's video (or follow this link), she sings the verses through her teeth without opening her mouth too much. However, the slowed-down chorus is kinda mesmerizing, and I expected Adam to sing it in his newly found lower register. Instead, he went for the usual fireworks, so reality collided with my ideas for what would come. I shouldn't have had pre-conceived notions of what he would do, especially after he told us it would be a Led Zeppelin take on the song... After all, Robert Plant used to wail like a cat when he still could hit those notes

Thank you, PI, for bringing over the concert goodies. I have to say, I very much prefer the original, Boy George version of DYRWTHM. The High Drama version isn't quite doing it for me. I keep listening to it, but I can't really get into it. I think I'm missing the beat and the music from the original. Anybody else agree? Or is it just me lol. Funny coincidence: Last night I put Adam's American Idol episode on TV and me and my daughter watched him sing "I Can't Stand The Rain". When Ryan Seacrest went up on the box next to him, my daughter asked "Why does Adam wear such high platform boots? I wonder what would happen if he had to walk with just one of them on..." This morning I was so happy to hand her an iPad with the boot throwing video from last night to demonstrate

I am of course very impressed with Adam's vocals and cannot wait for QAL in November (crossing my fingers Brian and Roger will be strong and healthy for a long time), but I wanted to mention something that might not have been discussed yet and that I was a bit concerned about. The new drummer. I must say I am super pleased with her performance. Since she is left-handed, the band had to reposition themselves to let her be on the other side of the stage, but it worked seamlessly. I know these people are professionals, but it takes time to gel as a band, and if I did not have the videos, I wouldn't have been able to tell there was a line-up change... Yes, the band was excellent!!
I'm curious, what is it about drums that required them to be positioned according to if the drummer is right or left handed? I am speculating here, as I am not a drummer ( girldrummer can probably answer this better). However, my understanding is that when you are a left-handed player, your focus is mainly on the right side, since the hi hat is on the right side. So in order to keep track of what Adam and the rest of the band are doing, it is a good idea to be on the left side of the stage, looking right towards the center. Here is a YouTube video of Adam's drummer recorded at her home. Notice how she put the camera on her right side as she is spending most of the time half-turned to the right: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tyX4iwBSVc

Re: photo of Heidi Klum - its a very cute photo, both look great. But, why? Can you just sit next to him and put your arm around him if you wanted to show your closeness? I know straight women are very attracted to Adam, he is very sexy and has great charisma, I know they are friends. I think he is friends with her husband or something. But again, why? Give him some space. I always find it weird that Americans call Heidi only by her first name. Here in her home country she’s usually called „Heidi Klum“ or sometimes even only by her family name „Klum“. Just „Heidi“ sounds weird to me. However, she must really like Adam and if she likes someone… maybe she also had a drink too much,. 😉 By the way, it’s her husband’s identical twin (Bill Kaulitz). whom Adam is friends with. But the twins and Heidi do a lot of things together. I think it has to do with the "household names of TV personalities" phenomenon in the US. When you mention Oprah or even a common name like Simon, if you are a TV viewer talking to other TV viewers, it does not require a Winfrey or Cowell to clarify whom you are talking about... And Heidi Klum is up there with Simon Cowell on the judges table of AGT, so she is the top "Heidi" on people's minds when the name is mentioned. There could be other cultural and linguistic reasons for the difference, as English does not differentiate between "Du" and "Sie" the way German does, so native English speakers are "per Du" with everybody by default

And here we go again. Last night on Ted Lasso they featured a song that sounded like Queen from Freddie days. It's not although Brian apparently plays guitar on it. Here's the dude and as night follows day people want a sound alike despite number of times Brian and Roger have said they don't. Sam Ryder was asked about Adam and fronting Queen a while ago... www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dS81_DALCk

No it was after Idol. I remember it too. He was pretty awesome there. It might have been during Glamnation though because I think it was before the first bunch of shows with Queen in 2012. ETA: It was Maxidrome in Moscow May 28, 2011Yep. That is the one. It was after Glamnation but before before Queen (a stand alone rock festival for 50K so no dancers). It was wonderful. They moved his show to earlier in the day because so many school age girls wanted to see him and they did not want them out there at night with the drunks, lol. They let the girls out of school so he had a very age diverse crowd. But there were several other high points for him. One of the DJ's, who had made some homophobic remarks about Adam, was completely won over when he went to interview him before the show. Even posed for pictures with his arms around Adam and said he was more gorgeous and taller with tons of charisma than he thought, lol. And someone in the press said they were expecting a "sissy" but instead found Adam to be a mix of Elvis and Guns N Roses. He rocked and gave a rock concert with his material and a few covers and won everyone over. HA! Here is the line-up and the setlists of the bands. www.concertarchives.org/concerts/maxidrom-festival-2011-c6617323-7cfa-4eec-9e9e-3a2733dacb42Other interesting connections from that line-up: - The KORN connection - Zac Baird has played keyboards for both KORN and Adam at different points of his carrier. - The Zemfira connection - Zemfira performed "Life Is Real (Song For Lennon)" with Queen at the QAL Moscow show on 2012-07-03. And while we don't like those ladies anymore, their website still has a treasure trove of Maxidrom material, although some videos have expired: onthemeaningofadamlambert.wordpress.com/2011/05/28/adam-lambert-at-maxidrom/
