Hmmm...I'm getting a homophobic vibe from this. "Mincing"? "A couple of old Queens"? These are the kinds of comments I'd expect from a closed mind.No.. not a homophobic vibe.. He just doesn't like the the reality tv connection, AI. He doesn't care if Adam is actually an amazing singer. A snob is a snob I stand by my impression. "Mincing" is a word that is often used to ridicule gay men. And the way he said "a couple of old Queens" instead something like of "a couple of old members of the group Queen" says to me that he has a problem with rock 'n' roll ever being associated with gay men.

Um, this is not so good guys. Just letting you know so that you prep for tomorrow's review possibly: Neil McCormick @neil_mccormick Daily Telegraph music critic. Occasional Author. Eco worrier. Bad son. Good dad. Neil McCormick @neil_mccormick I'm watching an American Idol singer mincing about with a couple of old Queens. What the hell happened to rock and roll? Expand Reply Retweet Favorite After looking at his twitter feed, the review just got much worse. Holy crap the things people will tweet.

ITA. As I said before, those are homophobic buzz words.

Wait, did they just skip "The Show Must Go On?" Brian did it with the audience. They sang along to his guitar. It was lovely. TSMGO is much beloved by Freddie fans. So in London, they gave the fans a chance to sing it all together.

This is so true. In addition, maybe a year or more ago, a bunch of the member "experts" revealed themselves to be teenagers and young men in their early 20's. Certainly they are welcome to their opinions, but most of them are not really seasoned experts or musicians. The Adam thread is of little value to me even though I read it sometimes when there is nothing happening on Atop. Whatever. I don't think dismissing them out of hand due to their age is appropriate. I doubt the median age of this forum (or musical expertise of ladies who admit they've never listened to top 40) qualifies anyone to be experts either. The DDD posters where knowledgeable and could back up their opinions thoughtfully and rationally and could give specific performance references. It was a highly intelligent forum with some great people on it but now it's a mess. Ironically, I wandered over to the Queen forum not to long ago and I see the same thing happening there. Glamberts invaded and now it's nothing but fighting. Shame too because ultimately that only serves to turn people off to Adam. Here goes--right while everyone is watching the live stream. Oh well. I agree that it is often a shame when Glamberts invade other forums. Maybe I didn't say that right about DDD ages. I don't want to be accused of ageism. I have been reading the DDD Adam thread for several years, so I'm not just dismissing a 16 year-old's opinion outright because of age (after all, I'm a teacher and enjoy hearing what they have to say). But Adam fans often referred to the "DDD boys" as experts. Some may be but some are not. There is a reason why experts (in any field) with highly sought-after opinions are not teenagers. I'm well aware that the influx of Adam fans changed the DDD discussion. As I said, they certainly will express opinions like anyone else, and I'm just going to view them like I do anyone else's, not necessarily as an expert's opinion. Also, I don't think comparing DDD to Atop is fair. This is a fan site, and many of our members (including myself) confess readily to not being knowledgable in many areas of popular music. Plus those of us who are trained musicians (classical here) or have some music expertise have been asked not to critique Adam's vocals on the main thread. Atop is a completely different animal. We have a diverse membership (including age) with experts in a lot of different fields, which is one reason why it's so interesting here. Although I am middle-aged, I enjoy reading comments of our younger members a lot. We have some really smart, funny, and caring younger members. Cheers, Frecklesexual! :D
