Adam-Queen London #1 Concert | Recaps
I have received several PMs asking for the pictures I took at the LaLa Brasserie ATOP party on 10 July. I posted the following link arter I got back from London but since many were probably traveling, they may have missed it. MODS, can someone post this on the first page of each of the London threads so if people are checking those threads, they will see the link? Hard to believe it has been a month since the concerts and I still have not tired of rewatching the videos and reminisce.

party recap: Hi, shadow and I are just back from the big London party at LaLa just up the street from Hammersmith Apollo. There were about 80 people, mostly Atops, but a few plus ones. Angelina was there, Catz, NoAngel, Hoppers, Smokey, Mayumi,Aloha, needacoke, diet coke,just wishing, Bama, glamtealady, zinnia and Mia, Gelly and her gorgeous daughter, Mayumi, etc. Q3 and Mr Q3 were there. JustJill and supardu did a great job with the decorating and arranging the food and space. Didilynn and a few others helped. I'm so sorry I started naming because there's not space to name them all. (and my memory is fried)
We had everything from pizza to salad to salmon and herb blintzes, great spring roll type things containing spinach and goat cheese, chicken wings, hummas, flat bread, and olives too numerous to mention. There was an open bar. The space was a perfect size, but get a bunch of Atops together and the rapid-fire conversations, ooohhhs + hugs when people located others they wanted to meet, and background music--happy chaos ensued.
The furniture was blonde wood with square tables and square-seated wooden chairs. The club space we took over had a bunch of green and pink neon swoops across the wall. We had yellow and black balloons,fresh flowers, wonderful name tags (just jill again), yellow wristbands that said "trespassers only" in black letters.
I can personally vouch that little Hoppers is adorable, lindag23's sons are tall and handsome, and there was boundless Adam community joy. The only "formal" part of the evening occurred when Q3, NoAngel, Hoppers, Angelina, Mia and Zinnia, catz and vecadam were introduced to raucous applause and cheers. Otherwise we just wished all of Atop could have joined us.
I apologize to anyone I slighted by not mentioning them by name. Shadow and I met everyone as we collected money and handed out name tags and wristbands, but much of that was a blur!
I'm on my way to the airport now! Man - am i NERVOUS 8-)

Quick post to say-- partying with the Atopers was grand, fun, and NOISY!! Seems we have much to say, and it was a wonderful opportunity to do it with like-minded people who have been friends for a long time, even though many of us just met in person last night.
So inspiring to meet people from all over the world, all here because of the power of love.

Hey guys! ATOP party last night was awesome. Met sooooo many people I'd only "known" by login name. Since I generally stay within the Mid-Atlantic region (until now!) I rarely see anyone outside my own city. Cool to see what NoAngel looks like without green hair!! 
Hats off and congrats to justgill, supardu, and didilynn who did a spectacular job with the planning. Great location, wonderful food (that I didn't eat nearly enough of b/c much too busy talking!), a constant Adam playlist, and awesome details like the Adam poster that directed everyone to our reserved floor, matching nametags, and yellow "Trespassers" wristbands!
Anywho, a batch of us walked from the restaurant to Hammersmith's after the party (@midnight) to see a handful of fans already lining up. NoAngel, silverblue, SusieFierce and group of others set their alarms to meet up there at 6 am. By the time I woke up an hour ago, discovered a paper towel note on kitchen counter from shufly saying she was heading over there too. But rjacks still asleep on couch and frankly I want to be able to be rested enough to enjoy concert, so we're probably gonna line up later.
My phone is current being petulant accessing British WiFi, so not I'm tweeting much ([snorts/grins] as if I ever did), but I'm sure the usual twatters will be going at it!

LOVED meeting all the ATOP folks last night!!!!! So many nice people!!! All I can say about we're about to witness in a few hours is ...
I'll leave the squee to the professionals but will say Adam completely (at least in the moment) won over the scrum of hard core Queen fans I buried myself in. At the beginning they were happy but by barefoot Adam, they were seriously swooning (for big older guys with buzz cuts - well actually for 12 yr old girls too). It was a wonder to behold.
I passed Neil and Eber chatting peacefully in their seats but then the pack spied them and would not be deterred - I fled.
There was much much love for Mr. Lambert and very interesting to be in such a different crowd. For instance, they clap in time - the love was running a mobius strip from stage to audience at the end. It was a lovely sight to behold.
LOL is it the Queen fans that can clap in time and not the Glamberts? I know I'm offering no help when it comes time to stomp and clap to Trespassing. I've practiced and I still can't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, yeah. I struggle too but those Queen fans have that clap/stomp sh*t down cold 8-)

I think you'll get a better full recap from usual suspects.
Uhm, I thought the sound was not great in the beginning (imo) - but Hammersmith is not w/out problems in that area and I wonder if (knowing nothing) maybe they have to adjust the mix for full audience (as opposed to empty theater soundcheck) but it got better fairly quickly and def steadily.
I will say as a not huge Queen fan (a fan, just not a FAN) I found the second half remarkably and increasingly moving and I think the audience (both AL and Q fans and combos) felt the same but we'll hear the readouts I'm sure.
Adam sounded great to me (once I could hear him) and looked as sparkly and joyful as his shirt. I found myself swaying and humming like a lobotomy victim during 'I Want to Break Free' - and there were a couple of other similar moments. (Oh, and we can dismiss immaculate feet as evidence of alien origin - by the end they were quite dirty but still pretty :D :D).
I want more. And yet I really miss GNT at the same time. And Trespassing tunes too. All at the same time. It's a little confusing....
It's late, but I want to post a few random thoughts.
1. When they called that lighting set-up The Oven, they weren't kidding. But it was fabulous.
2. A Queen concert is one big sing-a-long and they even brought the campfire. No, really there was fire and it was fabulous.
3. The videos do not do the Blonde's jacket justice. That shoulder bling sparkles like diamonds and when Adam shakes his shoulder, glitter light streams everywhere. The jacket is fabulous.
4. So you guys are calling the red jacket, Elmo. LOL. That was the first time I saw it and he did the wave with his arms and it was so lulzy. Did I mention it was fabulous.
5. The best comment I heard on the train was a couple of Queen guys who were surprised how young Adam sounded and then one said, "Can you imagine how he will sound in ten years?" The other guy replied, "Unbelievable!!!!" And he really said it with all those exclamation points.
6. The concert was fabulous and unbelievable and I can't wait until tomorrow to do it all over again.
QueenBert was a slice of rock n roll heaven! No words can adequately describe how I am feeling right now. So just a couple of things before I forget.
Peter, a Belgian guy who sat next to me is a huge Queen fan and knew all the songs. He was at Wembley and really loves Freddie and Queen. I asked him what he knew of Adam. He said that Adam was good and he had watched the Kiev concert but no one could replace Freddie. Told him Adam would agree and he is not trying to replace FM but he wanted to pay homage and also told him I am amazed that many Queen fans are hating not only on Adam but also on Brian and Roger. He agreed and could not understand why they would prefer the music to die with Freddie. He believes they are not real fans. Very nice gentleman and very open minded. He was having a great time dancing and screaming his head off. When Adam sang WWTLF, people got a little quieter and all of a sudden, Peter gave me a huge hug, gave me the OK sign and said, "you have every right to be so proud of your guy!" Happy tears!!!!

I was crying at Radio Gaga , my daughter started crying when the show started, and were jumping up and down like crazy , the whole venue was jumping up and down after the first minutes , everyone was singing along the whole time and Adam was smiling and left us sing by ourselves many times and he was so happy and his interaction with Brian is amazing and that is all, I am dead tired we were outside the venue for 8 before going in and I can't even type well any more.

I so agree with Mika. I love barefoot Adam and it seemed others did too. The couple we met on the train were diehard Queen fans and the wife said that barefoot Adam allowed him to move around freely and the joy was palpable. She also liked the fact that Adam made sure that the show was not about him but about Queen. The guy was very, very impressed with Adam's showmanship and voice. I told them about Trespassing. I told him to order on Amazon since the stores were sold out the first day (sorry for buying so many for Atopers back home so stores ran out) [img src="![]()

We just got back from the Queen concert and it was AMAZING!!!….. but that seems like such an inadequate word. The energy in the house was unbelievable and the audience definitely gave back as much as they were getting. We were sitting up in the balcony, but down towards the front. Adam’s family (Eber, Neil, Leila, Sauli, Danielle) were all sitting 2 sections over from us and they stood almost the entire time, singing along and cheering with everyone else.
I was trying not to be too much of a creeper and only sneak a few glances, but it was so sweet to see Eber beaming with pride when Brian said they wanted to thank Adam Lambert for being with them, or Neil tapping his hand against his chest with his head bent back during one of the slower, emotional numbers. Simply AMAZING. Sauli was smiling quite a bit and chatting with Leila. Some people were approaching them after the show but we steered clear. I didn’t want to risk the wrath of Neil! haha (or my seatmates calling me cray)
Chunkey and I sat together and we were swaying our arms to “WeAre The Champions” and laughing at all the crazy, ridiculous stuff like Brian in his poncho, Adam in his Elmo jacket, and how awesome that Queen t-shirt he wears looks in person. Pictures don’t do it justice; the sparkles in that shirt give off bright rainbow shine!!
I’m sure you’ve seen pictures by now and maybe even some of the videos are starting to come in (TALC and Suz were both there filming, and others as well). Heck, even some of the staff members who told people not to video were taking videos themselves!!! LOL There were definitely Queen fans there who were blown away by Adam and I could hear them talking outside the venue afterwards just raving about him. SO AWESOME.
I can’t wait to watch videos and relive it, and share some of my pictures, but sadly I have to get up tomorrow to fly home so hopefully others will share the goodies and I’ll come back to add mine sometime in the next day or two.
Brian was sweet; he chatted with the audience a lot, giving props to Adam, and telling jokes. He mentioned language differences, and how when they’re in London he wasn’t quite sure what to say since he’s at home, LOL, but he said you can often get by almost anywhere with the word, “Nostrovia!” which I remember Adam using quite a bit in the Moscow concert last summer.
Most of all Adam just seemed so happy to be there (duh!) and smiling his heart out, dancing, laughing, and having fun with Brian. We almost got a back lean tonight!
And although I’ve babbled on here, there really are no words to say how incredible that concert was and how much I hope we get to see him on stage again with them in the future because it’s not to be missed.

I will remember this night to the best of my ability for all of us to share. As any Adam fan knows, events and emotions all intertwine into one experience, the real and surreal combined. The Queen + Adam Lambert concert at the Hammersmith Apollo moved me beyond expectation. All I know for certain is that it happened, and it has made a profound impression on my life, perhaps a new sense of peaceful awareness. When Queen rescheduled for Hammersmith Apollo on a date that would not require me to alter my flight plans from the former Sonisphere schedule, I knew everything would be all right. I didn’t know it would be so, so much better than just all right. No one ever anticipates magic. By definition, it just happens when you’re unaware.

We did You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and I played Linus. It was stressful. There were a handful of kids all in the same role and you had to compete because at the end of rehearsal, they ranked you: If you had the best performance, you got Friday night. Saturday night went to the second best. In a way, it was f–ked up, but it planted a seed. I wanted it badly — that fight stuck with me ever since.”
