I was initially willing to look at the RS review in a positive light. Just the fact that they reviewed it seemed good. And it is. But there a few things that I find disturbing: Where is the "sometimes uneasy" hybrid of glam rock? Also - "his singing seems barely live". Really? Oh well.
Not related to Adam except indirectly: There was a discussion of Chris Brown on HLN last night and Fox this am and both discussions ended giving him a pass because he shouldn't be continually asked about the subject, and Charlie Sheen is profiting from his outrageousness so "double standard". I agree that it's pretty WTF about Sheen's upsurge in popularity but that doesn't excuse CB in any way. I'm not surprised however that his cd is #1 on I-Tunes. For some people it seems negative publicity is a plus.
Back to the positives - I don't have time to listen to the interview from Quebec again but I thought he said something about concerts (PLURAL) this summer. My impression was that he didn't mean just in Canada. Anyone else hear that?
I think the quality of the I-Tunes dvd is very good.

The 2 things about this review that bug me and that has bugged me about several concert reviews, is that these professional reviewers don't get the concept of the opening medley?! I mean, really! And the other thing is that he thinks there is an excess of backing vocals. Um, no sir! That is Adam's incredible voice. Remember that concert where the backing track vocals were not working for the beginning of the medley and we got to see what was actually Adam Live? We discovered, the vocals are pretty much all him. Wish we knew what concert that was; I'd love to listen to the opening medley again...

what are people doing with all the extra copies of the DVD they bought? I only bought one copy (from AO) and didn't think I needed another one so now I'm curious if I'm missing something as to why multiples are being bought ??? I think it's difficult for casual fans to find and buy Adam's albums, DVD, etc if they are all bought by hardcore fans first. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that retailers keep track of buying patterns and when two, three or four copies are purchased by the same person it doesn't really demonstrate an overall demand for the product so they really have no incentive to stock more once it sells out. Well, I purchased one from AO just to show support there. Paid more but hope Adam gets a better cut, but don't know. Bought download from iTunes because I want one on my computer, both the DVD and the CD. Bought 4 from Amazon through the link from here. I will keep one in the shrink wrap for my collection, sending one to my daughter-in-law who saw one of the concerts with me but would not likely purchase one herself. Sending one to the PD at my local radio station I have an email thread with. Whenever I request Adam he will play my request but I don't abuse it. I also sent him the FYE CD when it first came out. Don't think he is an Adam fan, but seems to appreciate the gesture. I will give one to my friend that expressed she likes Adam. Hmm, is that it. Oh, and I went to WalMart yesterday to purchase at least two more but they didn't have any. I will be purchasing some more to give away to others. And when it is all said and done will visit the gifting thread.... At the end of the day I expect to purchase about eight to ten keeping at least two not including iTunes personally and spreading the Adam joy otherwise. This is what I also did with FYE when it came out ;D

Could someone refresh my memory, where was the "Soaked" on the Acoustic Live CD recorded.....I guess I always thought it was from the Indy concert, but now with the new GNLive CD the differences in the crowd responses, sound mix and small breaths, etc. are obvious.....What was I thinking? lol (bad stan). I think they are from the same concert, but just different mixes of the sound feed. In the CD version I do hear the guy "whoot, whoot" in the background, but it is faint. I think I will wait for others to chime in before doing a note by note analysis of the two versions to be 100% certain. Well, maybe I'm not that bad of a stan. The crowd noises are definitely different and the very small breath on the last phrase seems placed differently to me, but maybe they intentionally edited it differently....don't know why they would....I'll have to re-listen and see if I can hear a faint woot woot on the new GNL CD. Is it what you call a "warmer" mix on the GNL Cd vocals than on the AL CD? Like when notes are held longer, or the beginning (like on Strut) sounds a little more nasally or heliumy?)
