I've pondered why FYE hasn't reached platinum status in the states for a while and I was satisfied with "the industry is down as a whole" and "platinum isn't everything" answers but lately I've come to the conclusion that he hasn't achieved platinum because retailers simply DO NOT KEEP HIS MERCHANDISE IN STOCK (in certain regions/states). With previous posts of B&N selling out and limited supplies at Walmart/BB of GNL I have a strong hunch that retailers don't order any more copies than already provided. Also there's the Miranda Lambert debacle. I mean you'd expect the stockboy to notice the difference between Miranda and Adam Lambert yet he purposely places Adam in her slot. Case in point: I mean I doubt potential new fans of Adam would look in the country section of all places; behind Miranda's stuff. Sorry for venting in post-GNL release day. I guess it's been on my mind for a while now. www.downloademoticons.org/wp-content/uploads/yolks/ka boom.png[/img] I'll go back to lurking mode.

March 23, 2011 www.92profm.com/Article.asp?id=2140994&spid=Adam Lambert Releases Live Glam Nation CD/DVD E-mail This Page | Print This Page After Adam Lambert released his debut album For Your Entertainment, he embarked on an extensive tour that did as well internationally as it did in the U.S. In fact, Adam was the first American Idol alum ever to tour the world in the year following their Idol season. Now, fans can relive the tour with the release of Adam's new CD/DVD set, Glam Nation Live, in stores Tuesday. Adam says of the tour and the resulting album, "It was amazing. We went all around the world and this concert hopefully captures the spirit of that show." Glam Nation Live was filmed at Clowes Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana August 31st during the North American leg of the Glam Nation Tour. It features 13 tracks, including "Whataya Want From Me," "If I Had You," "Ring of Fire," and an encore performance of the T. Rex glam rock hit "20th Century Boy." Welcome Outlawbooster! Happy Birthday Shade! (Did we scare you away?)
I am so looking forward to seeing the sales numbers for the concert. All the news about the dvd has been so good, I hope the numbers reflect that.
I only realized a little while ago that Adam will not have any concerts this summer.(Dumb, yes.) Only the arrival of that little disk has pulled me from the edge of a depression.
I did hear the interview about a possible Canadian concert. Why would he have such a concert?

what are people doing with all the extra copies of the DVD they bought? I only bought one copy (from AO) and didn't think I needed another one so now I'm curious if I'm missing something as to why multiples are being bought ???
I think it's difficult for casual fans to find and buy Adam's albums, DVD, etc if they are all bought by hardcore fans first. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that retailers keep track of buying patterns and when two, three or four copies are purchased by the same person it doesn't really demonstrate an overall demand for the product so they really have no incentive to stock more once it sells out.
Q3 comment: No this is not correct. If you purchase more than 8 copies in one transaction at retail, the additional copies purchased (#9, #10 etc.) do not count in Soundscan or for Billboard. Retailer replenishment systems are based mostly on sales units sold, historic patterns and rules set by a merchandise planner. Generally, these systems ignore number of items in a transaction.

[/quote}.. I bought three copies one on Itunes, two on Amazon.. Do I have to explain why???Stores keeping track of how many we buy..I think they are happy to sell as many as we want to buy. the more we buy the more they order..

I'm going to have to upload the DVD to get more. I'm afraid I'll ruin it with all the stopping/starting. Music Again
