Waiting for vids to start showing up. In meantime, off to Wolftrap and the National Symphony Orchestra with husband and kid. #jarringlydifferentgig Didn't know you were in my neck of the woods. Wolftrap! Wow! I used to love going there. Lawn seats with blanket, wine, and great music. Haven't been there since Lilleth Fair, which tells you how long it's been since I lived in DC area--and how old I am. Nice meeting you the other night, HSM. You positively glow with good vibes. (Anyone who I had the pleasure of meeting, it's "junkets"--a nickname for John Keats, my favorite poet. I had to spell it out a lot!) I am jealous of all of you who got to see the final show. (I know; I'm greedy ). But the shows I DID see were mind-blowing. I apologize for not recalling, but whoever it was talking abt being impressed with Roger and Brian, ITA. I've loved Queen but never embraced them the way British ppl have. But I signed on for Sonisphere especially because I wanted to hear AL singing with great musicians and songwriters and time-tested material. Nashville has incredible musicianship I can appreciate, even in an airport lounge (tho I hate country music, double ). But that stood out to me. Great harmonies have always impressed me (Beatles, Queen), and I freaking love how AL could blend and sing his parts perfectly! He might view falsetto as a crutch as a singer, but he shouldn't. He does it soooo beautiful, and most singers can't. (Under Pressure was breath-taking.) Ok, gonna shuddup now. Thinking abt changing my screen name to Ramblin' Girl :
