Well, I have been thinking of what I want to say in response to Tinafea's request for a whole day now, and my former English major/writer brain simply can't come up with anything that is better than what has been said already. However, I will try to explain a little about what Adam + Queen means to me personally.
I have been a Queen fan since I stole my sister's Night at the Opera album in the late 70's and acted out/sang every song every day after school when no one else was home! I used to have a crush on John Deacon and can still do the entirety of Bohemian Rhapsody from memory. I guess this means I am a Queen fan--but I have not been a hard-core fan for a number of years.
I have been an Adam fan since the beginning of AI and before Adam hadn't followed someone like this in my entire life. Adam has reminded me how to be an artist and why this is important. His love, talent and positive nature have been a true force for good in my life. Being part of this fandom actually has made me a better person!
When Adam and Queen finally announced they would be working together, I did everything I could think of to try and afford a trip to see them--but couldn't. I knew that this would be an amazing and magical pairing from the first and wanted to be there to see it happen in person. Having so many photos, videos and live feeds to watch has been a pretty good substitute so I can't complain. Being a part of this fandom and especially a part of ATOP has been and continues to be wonderful.
I do hope that Queen and Adam take the show on the road in the US at some point, but in the meantime I will be singing along to Trespassing and my Queen downloads! I am still trying to figure out how to get to one of Adam's concerts in the next few months...
Thank you to everyone who made this past couple of weeks so memorable! The best really is yet to come, no matter what any of the naysayers say.
