It is confusing. My teen never listens to the radio and yet she knows EVERY single popular song out there. Most of it's from friends sharing music recs. Also, when she downloads songs I know she looks over the itunes list of top songs to see if there's anything she might want to sample. Maybe they have one designated teen out there that listens to the radio and then passes it along to the others - the hive mind ! There is a reason why the top of the iTunes charts consistently match up with what is being played on Pop/Rhythmic stations. There are always a FEW exceptions, but the majority of songs match up in this manner. I totally get that and obviously there must be a lot of teens listening to the radio and then downloading from itunes. I just think it's funny that in my case the kid never puts on the radio and yet knows every hot new song! Like I said, she mostly gets her music recs from friends.

But I thought the young people are radio's demographic . Just giving you a hard time . I still stand by my statement that Adam is unusual in an industry that the "usual" way of doing things is dying. I believe that Adam is a part of the new music industry--he just want's it all--even stale old radio. He's competitive like that Adam is usual in that he is a Pop artist who is sending his singles to Pop radio in hopes of getting radio play. Radio is not stale, it is still the biggest source for discovering new music. I realize that radio is not dead yet, but the industry is transforming. I would love for Adam to have radio success, but I refuse to believe that older fans are a detriment to him. He clearly has fans of all ages, and they all count. Anyway--guess we wil have to agree to disagree

Anyway--guess we wil have to agree to disagree I agree, the way we listen to music is transforming, but the overall picture hasn't changed enough...yet. Right now, at this current time, radio play is still very important for certain types of artists and that is especially true for Pop artists. I didn't say a word about the age of fans, so you will have to agree to disagree with someone else on that issue.

ATTN TEXAS FANS!!!(sorry--there isn't a six-flags thread yet for me to post info on. Hope interested peeps find it here) I just called Six Flags with some questions and thought I'd share the answers. This venue is an outdoor amphitheater, but it is covered by a roof, so there will be shade. Concert starts at 6pm. The guy I spoke to said that as far as he knew there was no opener and the concert was scheduled to be about an hour. Tickets are free with park admission ($39 online in advance)--you go to a ticket-booth in the park once you get there and pick up your free concert ticket. The guy said it was assigned seating (not GA) and that he thought there was a special VIP section which you could get into if you purchased another item in the store (no idea). He didn't know the capacity of the venue. I asked him if these things usually sell out--if I had to get there early to get a ticket. His answer: they don't usually sell out but since it's Adam Lambert he thought they would and he recommended getting there early ;D ;D. Yay. However, boohoo, because that just decreased my chances of being able to go. Might be willing to drag the visiting fam to some waterpark fun and the concert--don't see myself persuading them to crawl out of bed in the wee hours for a drive to San Antonio and a full day in the Texas heat. Hmmmm. *continues plotting* fwiw--I was on hold with six-flags park info for about five minutes before I got through to someone, and during that time the recorded message bragged multiple times about the "remarkable concert experience" awaiting us when Coca Cola presented Adam Lambert at the park, and how he would "rock out" the stage. Which means anyone calling to find out if, say, they can bring baby-food into the park will get an earful of Adam-advertising. Yay. ONLY MARGINALLY RELATED: I'm still looking to get rid of my VERY EXCELLENT ticket to Winstar. AMW's daughter turns out to have made other plans, so we have a spare ticket again. It's a great location, front and center, and surrounded by excellent ATOP company in the form of AMW and LindaG23. I am not looking to recoup all of what I paid--just want the seat to go to a fan. PLEASE PM ME IF INTERESTED. (mods, sorry if this isn't the appropriate place. I will post in winstar thread as well.)

celebrity-gossip.net/Adam Lambert Confirms: "Imma be a Pretty Little Liar!" It’s always great to see showbiz match-ups and Adam Lambert has just been announced as a guest star on the upcoming season of “Pretty Little Liars.” The “Better Than I Know Myself” singer will be featured on the Halloween special, both as an actor as well as a pop singer.
