For those who asked me about this yesterday. My perf night idol recap. I would post this in the idol thread but I know more ppl are in here, esp the ones who asked me to post the link when I put it up. But the whole point, for me, is precisely that the "other performances" that were admittedly "equally sexual" were . . . no problem!
And the truth is, if Adam were one little scintilla less than the other-worldly level talented,
optimistic-beyond-fucking belief,
brave, forthright, ultimately loving, and
smart!
man that he is, then ABC could have very well RUINED Adam's new, hard-won career, IMO, by cancelling his GMA, New Year's Eve, AND Jimmy Kimmel performances.
And for what? For being exactly as you put it, "equally sexual."
That's discrimination.
Frankly, yes, it still infuriates me that this was done to him. I know it doesn't infuriate him, but that's because he's a better man than I, Gunga Din.
I hope I didn't break any rules. I feel strongly about the points.
(I might have bolded too much? Did I bold too much?) :-/

Adding to those I thanked previously - Hoopla and Lynne, thanks for the congrats for my son!
Thinking about Adam writing songs with a variety of people reminds me of an interview I read some time ago with a person (name now forgotten) who does a lot of co-writing of popular songs. This person said that at first the idea of co-writing was a bit off-putting, but that he came to love it. He learned a lot from each co-writer- sometimes word choice, sometimes phrasing, sometimes composition, etc. Over time co-writing taught him to be a better song writer and greatly expanded the skills he brought to the effort. I imagine Adam is loving the process - the creation of individual songs, the learning, and expansion of skills. Go Adam!

Well, for me, an act of real violence will always be a billion times worse than an act of simulated sex, no matter how many people did or did not witness it. *shrug* LOL, Well, for me, an act of simulated violence will always be worse than an act of real sex, but, well, okay, maybe not on network tv.... ;D  But in all seriousness, I may be in the minority here, but to respond to wonderstruck's question, I don't actually have much of a problem with Chris Brown's appearing on TV (although the subsequent ABC near-apology was a bit much). I agree that it gets kinda sketchy when shows start playing judge about who's morally noble enough to appear on their couch. Given the retrograde moral code our media often seems to go by, that's not something I would want, so long as discussions remain thoughtful, and hate, or misogyny, or bigotry, isn't given a platform on these shows. But it's hard not to see ABC's repeated courting of Brown as sensationalizing and cashing in on violence in a way that is far too common on our tv screens, and it is the double standard, sooo widespread, with regards to sex and violence, and certainly with regards to gay sexuality, that I really object to. |

Chris Brown has not committed an act of violence on live television though.
Um, neither has Adam!

Evidently, the line gets drawn by ABC to exclude Adam - that's my beef.

My bundle has arrived!!!! And UPS just left it on my front steps in full view of the street - kind of bizarre, but it is here!!!! BTW: the one that I bought here in Canada had no warnings on it, apparently we don't care about our children Mine didn't have warnings either. Horray for Canada and Greece!! ;D |

So Adam's Glamnation Live Vevo vids are getting a lot of prime placement on pop songs on youtube yay! But unfortunately the blurbs don't mention the Glamnation Live DVD and the the "buy this song" links go to the FYE versions of the song on itunes (bummer).
