WinStar Thackerville OK | Recaps
OK. I am a little more awake and coherent this morning.
First thing I want to say is LindaG23 and I realized that at NO TIME during the concert did Adam ask us if we were having fun or having a good time!! I think that's a first. Maybe he KNOWS how much fun we were having.
Preconcert was spent with LindaG23, some ladies from twitter, a lovely Lambrit named Ruth who lives 1/2 hour from me and told me of a whole group in Southern FL that gets together! Bliss. Also was able to have a wonderful and long visit with Juniemoon. Lovely lovely soul.
I had a good VIP seat around 7 rows back center on the aisle. (Winstar is a good place to add to your concert attending list. Very comfortable chairs and only an hour from Dallas I think there is also a bus that goes up from the airport) When it was clear that security was kinder and gentler this year and even OK with people coming to the stage I was out of there like a bat out of hell and made it to the front but right by the speaker. Painful on one level - heavenly on another. I got an eyeful of EVERYTHING! "Iceberg just the tip" and "cocked and I'm ready to go" was in front of my frigging nose!! Could have reached up and helped him out. When he was down on the floor, we were almost eye to eye. The teens were patting all over his legs and knees. I was shy but at the end reached up for a modest pat in a modest place. He was so at ease, receptive and patient. Every time he came our way (which was a lot!) and then moved back, the clump of ladies around me collectively clutched their hearts and each other to keep from falling over. It was hilarious.
He was absolutely delicious last night. Sexy, adorable, bouncy, happy, relaxed. His rapport with the band is increasing every concert. So comfortable with the three ladies now. By the way, I don't know how the vids will be but I thought Reyna was more in tune last night. Didn't wince at all.
Pants (both pairs) got an A+ rating from me and I was definitely in a position to judge it!! Lots of tummy from outfit number 2 from the angle I was standing.
Had a blast with roommate LindaG23. My roommate last week was Grandduchess. You guys are going to a have a ball at BM.
Love this community! Love stanning Adam! Hoping for vids to commemorate this great concert.
Hi fellow atoppers, I went to winstar and survived! Of course have to sleep first though. ;D
Can't believe he came to my hood with these one-offs. Last time the GNT dates were so late around here I panicked and went to Kansas!
I'm sure there are way more articulate peps describing this, so here is my random thoughts in short.
Holly crap! Merchandise line loooong! Won't be back in time for show if I go and get a t-shirt :(
A group of Hispanic guys sitting behind me talking in really fast Spanish. A random lady asked if they like Adam (duh...), they said they like wdwfm and tresspassing, random lady said she likes the first album better
[/IMG]
Lady sat next to me more interested in taking pics of her shoes and ankle jewelry the whole time, WTF [img src="
i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/dunno1.gif"][/IMG] Her husband in the other hand stood and really into it, I guess you never know.
The red pants left nothing to imagination ;D
Everyone else sounded good. TBH didn't pay attention. The backup girls had ropes on, later took them off but I had no idea when. Did notice they sounded a little off at the beginning of naked love.
Issc is HOT [img src="

wdwfm better than ever, OOL way better than on the album (don't hit me, this is the only song I skip everytime
)
Man, the guys behind me really loves Adam, they were loud!
Lady took one last pic of her shoes right after the show
Merchandise line looong after the show. I was smart and jumped into line asap, score!
Overall, Adam sounded great. He's so effortless. I mean everyone says it, but it's true. At first I thought he's conserving his voice, then I realized he's hitting some pretty ridiculous notes here! It's like he's not even trying hard, alien! He's definitely in a better shape than before, both how he looks and how he sounds.
To me, fast and slow songs were better live, BE and Chockhold were not.
I've seen GNT at this venue. Like his look and the songs better now, like he's more relaxed and talks a lot. However, I miss some choreographed dance moves
Was struck by the certainty he has when he said they will be back and this is the only beginning. In Adam we must trust. [img src="

PS. My BF was on picture duty, turns out my little cannon was not good for pics, but did take a few decent videos. Clearly he didn't get the memo we only focus on Adam, so it's a wide view of the whole stage. Sound is ok, will try to upload later.

Hello all. I don't post a lot but lurk daily . Went to Winstar last night. Omg it really was fabulous! I really hope some good vids pop up. I must say I second this as a good venue to see a concert-seats good (although no one was sitting), acoustics good-just a comfortable place.
I drove up from the Ft Worth/Dallas area-very easy drive. Brought 3 people that have never seen Adam and they all left blown away :D. I thought their comments were interesting. They loved the diversity of the crowd. Noticed it right away. They had asked me on the ride up what I loved about him and other than the usual stuff like his voice, charisma, character etc. I said I loved his story and how hard working he is and that I really just love the journey of his career. It probably sounded corny to them but it's true.
The concert itself was unreal. I had been watching vids of the previous ones and I really think this was up there. His energy kicked in by song 3 or so and he was really feeling the energy. His banter was great and unstructured. Lots of fun. When they started playing the wrong song Adam looked at the audience and said "oh no, train wreck!". So funny. My friends commented how much they loved how real this show was and not overproduced. I did really like the backup singers-I was withholding judgement till I saw them live.
Ok-the outfits. Best.....outfits.....ever! When I saw the red pants I thought "NO WAY!". Are those THE red pants? I could not even try to explain the red pants to my friends. They would never understand how much his clothes are discussed. Then the star shirt and leopard pants :.
Just a great, great show in the middle of nowhere (for those of you that have been there, you know what I mean!).
Can't wait for his tour. It really is going to be epic.
What an amazing night for me. I was right up front center stage, could see everything very close. In the pics you can see a random wrist with a spiky glow bracelet. That's me. I was right next to Justin, the guy with the iguana Mohawk and directly behind the girl who removed her outer shirt during Naked Love. He loved that! He made eye contact with lots of fans. He saw me immediately, nodded and gave me a sweet smile. That was nice.
The red pants were particularly exciting and he had a sexy moment with his mic stand that I was kind of stunned by. Pretty sure my pulse starting racing at about that point. The crowd was good, no pushing, no shoving, there was plenty of room to move and dance right up front.
After the show, it was great to connect with friends, but a casino is a very strange place.....anyways more later. On the road back to Austin and we have stopped for food, so I thought I would give a quick update.
Peace out
Okay, I just got home this evening and have to tell you about my trip to Winstar. First, thanks for the birthday wishes, this trip to see Adam was my B-day gift to myself! Anyway, I drove up on Friday, it is about 5-1/2 hours from where I live. I got to my hotel about 5:30 so I just had time to change clothes, slap on a little makeup and paint my nails bright yellow. I wore black jeans and a bright yellow T-shirt, with my Adam Lambert dog tags and my skeleton key necklace. I really didn't even check to see where I was going just headed north to Oklahoma. When I got off of the highway there was a small casino and dumb ole me thought that was it.
Let me back up a bit and just say I had some new Nike running shoes, but they were white and I didn't want to wear them with my black jeans. So I had a pair of black shoes I bought several years ago and I had only worn them about 2 or 3 times, so I took those and wore them to the concert. Anyway, when I stopped at the smaller casino and went to get out of my car the ENTIRE sole of my left shoe fell off!! I could have just died and naturally I had left my Nikes at the hotel. So there I was gimping along, with one shoe higher than the other. I went into the casino looked around and I was thinking what a dinky little place it was. Finally I asked at the Cashier's window where the concert was and he told me I was at the wrong place.

I get back in my car and finally find the right place and it was huge. The parking lot was full and I drove around a while looking for a space. Finally 2 women were leaving and I asked them where the main entrance was because there were several different entrances. I ended up about as close as I could have gotten to the front entrance. It was about 7:30 when I got there and there was long line waiting for the doors to open. Got in line and immediately started visiting with the other glamberts around me.
I went in and my seat was on the 3rd row, but off to the left. The stage was really wide, but these seats were way past the end of the stage. I talked to an older women and 2 younger women next to me. One of the younger girls was from San Diego and said she went to the same Junior High that Adam did! Also, all of them had been to the Fantasy Springs concert. I asked the girls how old they were and one was 19 and the other was only 16, but she looked like she was about 25. She had these yellow false eyelashes on that looked really cool. Adam ended up pointing her out from the stage and telling her he liked her makeup. Also, the trespassing tape that he had around his neck was what she had given him. I asked where she got it and she said at a Glambert party in India!!
The first 2 rows in front of me didn't have hardly any people in the seats, so as soon as the lights went down all of us on the end moved to the first row! Then I noticed the only barrier they had was short and you could go around the end, so I headed that way and everyone else did too. I ended up 1 person back from the stage directly in front of a speaker.
Then Adam came out in those red pants and I nearly DIED!!!! At first was was like this
and then like this
I loooove that video of him at Art 4 Life singing Crazy in those pants, with the girls dancing around him. They fit him like a glove too! Later a friend of mine asked if he had shoes on and I couldn't tell her, I never got past face to glambulge so I didn't know.
My B-day was Saturday, so I made a sign asking for a B-Day hug from Adam, but it didn't happen, Tommy saw the sign and grinned real big at me! Anyway, it was fantastic to see him up that close, his eyes are just incredible, not to mention the rest of him. [img src="
i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/wub.gif"][/IMG] Legs go on forever! Then when he changed he came out in the black and gold pants that he wore in the People photo shoot (when he had on those gold platform shoes) and he had his leopard/star shirt on.
He came right in front of us, not 2 feet away, and grabbed his crotch, I thought me and the lady next to me were gonna faint, it was soooooo great.
Later he came back over to our side and got on his knees and laid back on the stage. [img src="
i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/clap.gif"][/IMG] I have never had so much fun in my entire life. The women around me kept telling me to put my sign up and finally the younger girls took it and threw it on the stage. ;D
Anyway, we got to stand next to the stage for the entire show. Security never even asked us to go back to our seats. I tried to find LindaG and Juniemoon, but never did.
The lady next to me before the concert started was Ruth from Florida and she had been in London for the Queen shows and we talked about that. Another lady behind me had on flashing light bracelets and necklaces and she ended up putting one on my wrist and told me Happy B-Day. It was so much fun meeting other people who feel the same way I do about Adam.
The concert was over much to soon, but Adam said he would definitely be coming back to Thackerville and so will I. Adam sounded amazing and was having a lot of fun dancing and joking with the band. He also did a body roll right in front of me too!
When I finally left the casino as I was walking back to my car the sole of the right shoe came off, I took the fucking things off and left them in the parking lot!! [img src="

Got in the car and headed back to the hotel. I had been so excited that I forgot to check my gas gauge and when I looked down my gas light was on and it was sitting on empty. I was already back on the highway, in the dark, with narrow lanes and no shoulder to pull over on if I ran completely out of gas. Praying the whole way, I finally got to an exit, with a convenience store and was able to fill up.
Then I decided to go get me something to eat on my way back to the hotel. I just went through the drive-thru, but I had to ask the young man to repeat himself about 6 times, because I couldn't hear from standing in front of the speakers.
All in all it was a wonderful day and I met a lot of great people too! I keep thinking I couldn't love Adam anymore than I already do, but then I see him again in concert and it just grows that much more.
Now I need to go back and read what everyone else said about the concert! Sorry this was so long, just couldn't help myself.
