Someone who knows should answer, but I'm thinking this might be world-wide. I don't think that there were any US physical singles. The article said Niellsen Soundscan. Isn't that US only? Also, Carrie is listed first. If it was world-wide, wouldn't Kelly be listed first? I hate articles like this because it paints irrelevant idols as being more successful than they really are. 8-10 years ago it was easy to get platinum. Clay and Ruben for example haven't had great sales in years. Yes.. isn't in in Adam's press release, it stated that he's sold over 2millions album worldwide. And if we're talking Woldwide, Adam might be #2 or #3 after, because most of the idols listed on this list are not really selling internationally...

Adam Lambert’s New Single Is…Date: July 29, 2012 By: Peter Stavros Still to be decided! Adam Lambert revealed on his Twitter page today that he will be announcing his next single for Trespassing in a “week or so.” However, we get word that he is still undecided between two songs. Which two? Well, we don’t know, but we can try to guess right? So here are our picks… We really think that the next single will either be fan-favorite “Cuckoo” or the very upbeat title song “Trespassing.” More: www.musicdnews.net/adam-lamberts-new-single-is/

Ive been thinking about that for a while and guys, dont you know whether there wasnt such a case in the history of pop music when the bonus track became a single? Adam has more songs in the CD to release as single before they pick one of songs from his bonus tracks. I am not sure about a bonus track ever being chosen, however, since Runnin is on every country's deluxe edition, that sure helps. If it is ever chosen as a single it wouldn't be now though. It would be way down the line, like 5th single. The past era of both P!NK and Katy Perry did do something unusual. They each released 2 singles that weren't even on their albums. P!NK's "Raise Your Glass" and "Fuckin Perfect" were not on her Funhouse album. Katy's "Wide Awake" and "Part of Me" were not on her Teenage Dream album. Katy then rereleased a special edition of her album that included the 2 new singles and another new song. This album has 19 tracks. P!NK's 2 songs were only released as singles, which I think was sooooooooooooooo smart of her to keep her songs out there while she was taking a break and becoming a mom. Those 2 singles will appear on her new album coming out in September. So, to sum it all up, I think labels are trying lots of new things and the old rule book is out the window!

Ive been thinking about that for a while and guys, dont you know whether there wasnt such a case in the history of pop music when the bonus track became a single? I search a bit and could not find any cases of this occurring for a major label artist in the US. There are quite a number of non-album singles, but not bonus tracks. RCA execs have been talking about Trespassing having several singles since last December. I think they will select an album track for single #3

I guess this is only for US sales - Does it means that FYE has reached Plantinum now??? Best-selling American Idols: Kelly Clarkson to Scotty McCreery
12. Adam Lambert Total sales: 1,173,000 albums; 21,000 physical singles; 4,903,000 digital tracks. Vital 'Idol' stats: Season 8 runner-up. Biggest albums: "For Your Entertainment" hit the charts in late 2009 at No. 3, going on to be certified gold. Released in May, his second album, "Trespassing," debuted at No. 1. Biggest songs: He's gone Top 40 twice. "Whataya Want From Me" hit No. 10, while "If I Had You" peaked at No. 30. Most recent hit: "Never Close Our Eyes" debuted at No. 23 on Billboard's dance charts the week ending Saturday, July 28. Worth noting: Only the top three artists on this list and Sparks have sold more digital tracks.www.azcentral.com/thingstodo/music/articles/2012/07/24/20120724best-selling-american-idol-kelly-clarkson-scotty-mccreery.html?page=12US Sales only -- perhaps that total includes the bastard album sales because that is the only way I get to that total. ETA: The CD Singles are imports sold by US Retailers who report to Soundscan -- mostly Amazon. Also, Adam has about 50K units of his Idol album, and around 130,000 units of Take One and Take Two. Plus around 985K from RCA Albums. That totals around 1,173K.

Adam said if he got to do a music video with Cuckoo he was going to make a social commentary. Good timing with the Chik fil A debate. Someone asked me to go there for lunch and I refused.
"I got to get out of this straight jacket" - Adam Lambert

And if they did international sales, Kelly would be #1 and I would guess Adam would be at least around where David Cook is. Also, except for Scotty, all these Idols have been around longer!!! ETA: adamme, No, Adam wouldn't be #2 or 3. He may eventually catch up to and pass Daughtry, but with all the years ahead, that Kelly and Carrie have, I don't think any Idol will catch them.

That is only US sales & it includes all the bastard albums. Take one sold 100k alone. I too can't stand these articles. Kelly is more successful than Carrie as Kelly is Worldwide. Her sales have far surpassed Carrie. Clay and Ruben have been irrelevant for years now for sales numbers. Adam should be #3.
