OK, here goes... I am with Mika. I found yesterday's thread with the CB discussion depressing. I am not saying the topic is not valid, but which topic? CB and ABC? CB, ABC and Adam..it gets muddled. I wish the AMA's would go away already. I respect members' opinions about violence in this society. I do not, however, believe that any discussion of CB and ABC as a stand-alone topic is appropriate for this thread. I have strong opinions about violence myself. I was abused. Even though this may be good PR for Adam, I would love to see his PR coming from his charitable acts or, God forbid, GNL!! Resurrecting the AMA's leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Adam gave an angry performance that night and I felt sucker-punched by it. I, IN NO WAY, connect this to CB> Let me be clear. I have never watched a vid of it again. There is a lot of stuff that went down that we will never know about and the timing of Chris Brown on ABC stunk and was not fair that Adam was banned. But how long do we have to keep resurrecting this? Stand against violence, yes. Express oneself, yes. Constantly swinging in Adam in a context in which he was not involved?? Two years ago, he was very much involved in the timing of ABC's ban. This latest CB meltdown is about CB, ABC and ratings. Period. Sick but true. I don't approve of it but he is also not the only hot-headed wacko getting press. The only thing I ever want to say about the AMA's again is when I saw glimpses of the rehearsal footage it came to me..WTF with that choreography? It is going to eat Adam alive. And it did. Like watching a gerbil trying to make it through a maze. No wonder he couldn't sing. OK, said my peace and now I can put the AMA's to bed. That choreo was a trainwreck waiting to happen and I have wanted to say that for a long time. Damn, Debby Downer here. :-[ Thanks for listening. ETA: Thank you all for the Adam 'blue' pics!! Lifted my blue mood and I hope I haven't altered your fun for the day

I think that I will just tell her to be careful, fast forward, or turn down volume if anyone is around. Even if no one is around someone might hear it and her brothers are 9 and 6. They know I like Adam. I think they are learning the word "obsessed". I agree with Adam's "chatty stuff" being a little awkward. I did think it had to do with his always working with a script, theater traning, and his wanting to have clear diction and projection. Maybe he should slur his words a little. Have my YouTube loop going now. also. No-o-o-o!! Don't for heaven's sake suggest that he should slur his words, even a little!! One of the things I love best about Adam's singing is how clearly the words come through. I can actually understand the lyrics of the songs!! E.T.A. - Reread your post and just now noticed the smiley!! Guess you didn't really mean that, did you?

Strange ... HiFi is already holding the space even though they won't release until 12/30/2011? Bizarre. That has been there since August 2010. In 11/2010, it was removed from most other sites but not removed from Walmart.com. I think this is a data problem at Walmart.com not a real expected release date. My bet is that it will never be released if Adam can keep it from being released. HiFi owns the recordings (purchased from Wilshire Records) but these were not recording session where Adam was paid as a session singer, these are the highly coveted Citizen Vein recording sessions. These were the tracks that were suppose to be on Take One but were not included -- all that is on Take One is the demo recording sessions. The credits for the missing recordings: Vocals: Adam Lambert Guitars: Monte Pittman Bass & Keys: Marcus Brown Drums: Steve Sidelnyk Produced by Malcolm Welsford Assisted by John Armstrong Recorded & Mixed at Paramount Studios Mastered by Bernie Grundman Mastering, Hollywood CA I do not know what Adam had to do to hold up the release of these recording in 2009, what he did last Fall, but he appears to be willing to keep these from being released -- and that cannot be free, it at the very least involves lawyers. Although I understand why Adam does not want this old material released -- I would love to own them and wish he would let them be released. They are pre-Idol contract so it is all up to Adam, not RCA or 19R. Monte was publicly pushing for releasing them and both Adam and Monte would at least earn publishing royalties for sales and licensing.

I have a question about this How is it that they (HiFi) could even buy the recordings from Wilshire? Just because they produced it why would they have the sole right to distribute? I find this very confusing.

Hopped on to see if there was chat and was hopping off again when I saw the comment. Totally respect yr pov and understand that sick feeling completely, but feel need to clarify. I was depressed not by the discussions per se - everyone knows I err on the side of 'talk' - but by the fact that so many comments on boards re the incident played down the seriousness of what CB did. All of my comments were too long to post frankly so I deleted. But basically they focused on the fact that bullies intimidate through violence and rage, that this behavior in a work place/public is ALREADY an assault on those who experience it. And CB won b/c the behavior got him more attn, lot of sympathy and a new invite. And I have no prob w/using Adam's earlier situation to compare/contrast unhealthy attitudes towards sex/violence. Albert Brooks famously noted that in one of his movies (Lost in America?) they wouldn't let him use 'fuck' b/c of context - "So," he said, "I can't say I want to fuck my wife (in the moive) on this table, but I can say I want to fuck her up with this table?" The answer was yes. That was all somewhere around the core of my depression - along w/some other stuff. Please return to pic spam, I will do laundry or wear the same shirt again for 3 days.

Q3.. I have a question about this How is it that they (HiFi) could even buy the recordings from Wilshire? Just because they produced it why would they have the sole right to distribute? I find this very confusing. The simple answer is because Malcolm Welsford paid for the recording sessions and these rights are what he got for that investment. If an artist pays for the recording sessions and production -- self-produced album -- they would own the recordings. Adam, Monte and the rest, signed a contract with Malcolm Welsford Wilshire Records for this album. Malcolm owned the recordings and would have agreed to pay royalties to the artists and songwriters most likely. Wilshire Records was and is a small indie label with limited connections and the album was never released. Almost certainly, Malcolm would have had the right to sell the recording session work or distribution rights to Hi-Fi Recordings or another company. Adam, Monte and the rest had no leverage to negotiate limited rights when then made this deal. These contracts are very complicated and there are about 1 million different ways to set them up but they all amount to something simple -- no one is going to invest lots of money in producing an album without owning the master recordings in some form.

OKAY, now you're just showing off. I like a good show-off. I had never seen that bottom pick before. nice. How's that for a tank, Q3? (although I steadfastly reassert my love for the crazy lightning-bolt tank.)

Did someone say Plaidam?? (BB, what is going on with your hair here?) Mika, love that Albert Brooks quote. So damn true. But back to the shallow end ... ETA: Maine, I've never seen that bottom blue-tank pic either and it's
