Thanks, aloha!! I haven't seen this one before. Didn't Adam say he would love to play the part of Judas? FYI: this performance is considered by the rock guys at DDD to be Adam's best live performance ever. Isn't it considered the best live performance period by those guys?

OK, Q3, I also have a quetsion about the Hi Fi/Wilshire thing. Why would Adam and Monte give up their rights to the songs? That's what doesn't make sense to me. They are the song writers. I thought the song writer is always the one who keeps the rights? Many indie artists produce and sell their own records. Were they just too anxious to jump on the "we have a label" train and signed all of this away (their music) without thinking about the repercussions? I know Adam was "green" and new to the record scene, but I would think Monte would have been more informed about the business. They still own the rights to the songs -- just not these specific recordings. Wilshire Recordings owned the recordings not the songs. Adam and Monte still own the publishing rights to the music they wrote. But artists can and do sell their publishing rights outright. Usually a financial mistake. The way it usually works with a record label -- independent label or major label -- is the label fronts the money for the recording sessions, production, distribution and promotion. The artist has no financial investment and gets a percentage of sales (royalties) if there are any. The label indie is used as a broad term for everything that is not done by a major label -- but there is a difference between working with an independent label (like Wilshire) and making an album in your garage and a successful act like Green Day or Madonna who produce (ie fund) their own projects. Very few artists fund their own projects and tours. The ones who do, like Madonna, are the very wealth artists.

Yes. I'm sure Adam and his management never get involved with a charity unless it is checked out thoroughly. And true to Adam's good character he says nothing that would either hurt the campaign OR obligate him to it in any way. He has made it clear he supports the cause.

Is anyone else having this problem? YAY!!!! Wish more radio stations would add this song. why not many adds? >:( It's a good song and for a good cause too. it would raise more money if more radios play it, let people know..sadz You gotta love this station!! They have been one of the best supporters of Adam in the US. Add WSTW Wilmington DE and I think the Delaware Valley is almost New Zealand!

Thanks! Love the "Music Business 101" class, Professsor Q3! So one more question... does that mean Adam and Monte could actually record and release these songs?
ETA: Thanks, I see your answer to this below! So, that means, there is still hope for "Pop Goes the Camera!" 8-)

Would the song "The Circle" that Monte just put on his new CD..not have been on the "Take Two"? Because what you are saying.. Monte and Adam can't release these songs themselves if they were included on in that recording session.. right? Adam and Monte could record a new recording of these songs and release them, they just do not own the old recordings from the Wilshire recording sessions: Vocals: Adam Lambert Guitars: Monte Pittman Bass & Keys: Marcus Brown Drums: Steve Sidelnyk Produced by Malcolm Welsford Assisted by John Armstrong Recorded & Mixed at Paramount Studios Mastered by Bernie Grundman Mastering, Hollywood CA I will put together a summary of what we know about these recordings and songs for tomorrow's News. I'll try to put it together in a way that makes sense.

I am guessing, but thinking one of 2 things. either 1) They are not going to do an official add and are just letting the stations that want to play it, play it. Or (My hope) 2) That the official radio add will come when it goes to i-Tunes. However, I think if it gets played a certain time on one station, even without an add, it gets an auto add. And, if it gets played on some syndicated shows, it will automatically add it to some playlists. My understanding is that they will go for adds when it is released on iTunes. But if they do not put out a radio edit, don't expect a ton of airplay -- it is too long for US CHR radio (Top 40/Contemporary Hit Radio).

If people run out of blue photos, perhaps continue with "Adam as Club Kid" pics? Those are very cheering - at least I think so. I'm completely with you, Mika. ClubKidAdam always makes me grin. But I'm no pic-ninja (I have exactly one Adam pic saved on my laptop: my avi #badfan ???), so I can't provide the pretty as well as so many here--I'll leave it up to you guys. Not that I'm trying to discourage the continued posting of BluePeriodAdam. His eyes DO look wonderfully blue in blue (Love blue on blue-eyed men. My husband has beautiful big bright blue eyes, too, so I often give him blue shirts and sweaters as gifts #soselfless #luckygirl .) ETA: Lindy: Estefan wrote: "I love Allison Iraheta. I went to see her in concert with Adam Lambert."
