Just bobbing in to say that I'm loving your recaps, Catz - can't wait for next instalment! It's made me promise myself to be at the next Queenbert....wherever it may be.
3 x London was great but I want more....

Before the QueenBert concerts, I never realized how wide Adam can open his mouth--creating a huge resonating chamber for his voice. I have to really work to open my mouth that wide (if I even can do it). But it seems to be very natural for him.    ETA: I don't know why posting photos from Alikat is such a problem. Had troubles the other day. The photos I was looking at are from her lastest Night 3. Sorry I don't have time to monkey with it again. But there are fabulous photos there. CD update. The project is coming together nicely! I did a test listen today, and the copies sound great. I am letting everyone know by PM when to expect their packages. So exciting to be able to share the music! For those of you who have not already contacted me, it is not too late to get in on this. I have excellent quality Kiev, Moscow and London 2 & 3. Peace! Dougie was tweeting about Queen at the Staple Center back in May, I think it's just wishful thinking on his part. Thanks for the info. Gosh so much with Adam is a surprise.. He seems to love taking one to the very edge.. LOL  |

He just tweeted that they are reserving more venues for 2013. Big venues book out WAY in advance so it is quite possible that if they are looking into the idea they would put initial date reservations in with the venues. At this point it is just a hold on dates and doesn't commit them to anything. For an act like Queen they probably wouldn't have to put up any money yet but if it came down to the point where another act wanted the date then they would have to formally reserve it. I would say that it probably means they are trying to put something together but doubt it's worth getting all excited about at this point. Nice explanation. I never really understand how they book these things. The one thing to get excited about is that the idea hasn't been completely scrapped and that B&R & Adam have some interest in doing it. For the rest, we'll keep our fingers crossed. ETA: Can't wait until the media catches wind of even the "possibility" - that'll be fun to watch. ;D Many many years ago I was in a Dog club and we booked the Cajun Dome in Lafayette, LA for an agility trial. We had to reserve the date we wanted at least a year maybe more before the actual trial. Then at certain points along the way had to keep reaffirming the date, put down deposits, etc. Then about a month before the show they tried to yank the date out from under us which would have been an absolute disaster as entries were already in. Someone else had booked some of the conference rooms that we weren't using for a Wedding party without checking what else was booked for the weekend and threw a hissy fit when they found out their wedding was sharing space with a dog show. They thought they were important big wigs and tried to throw their weight around and get us kicked out. Luckily one of our members was married in to a big Oilfield company family and had better connections and we kept our date. I know U2 often begins reserving venues sometimes 2 years before touring as last time tickets were on sale almost a year before concert dates. |
