Why?? Because it's their money! RCA wants Adam to succeed as much as we do. IDG, the meme that RCA is not or has not supported the singles or Adam. They just made idiotic, safe, wrong decisions for the first 2 singles. Hopefully this will rectify it. I doubt that rca looks at it that way. Corporations don't have consciences, and can't be guilted into spending money. Also, I believe that rca picked the right singles to start off with, so guilt is unnecessary. btikm and ncoe were excellent singles, not "idiotic, safe and wrong decisions." If radio did not play a cool song by Bruno, will it play a cool song by Adam? Will a third single get trp selling again? If the likely answers are no and no, what incentive is there for rca to spend money? It's up to Adam and his management now, not up to rca.
The cynical me couldn't help nodding to the bold part, but the sunshine me wants to give RCA another chance; either way, our speculations will be put to test (or rest) soon enough.
Regarding the first 2 singles, evamaria, I can tell you're very fond of them and there're many people in many countries, where the songs have been playing a lot, that share your sentiment. However, in US and a few other bigger markets, both songs have been proved to be unfavorable by the radio and their consumers, largely, and it's not because RCA didn't support them (all those radio concert appearances and radio tour, and whatnot are RCA's doing, but poor decisions & strategies can put quite a damper on the hit making.) The perfect examples are Oz & Japan, 'cuz most of those mumbo-jumbo about US radio don't really fly there and they're 2 of most avid supporters. Both countries played "FYE"(the song) fervently way before Adam did his promo rounds, and that is an Adam song, at least to them!
For a less known artist, people get to know the artist thru the song; in Adam's case, people tend to have their own pre-conceived notions about what his songs should sound like. In any case, I agree that it's not gonna be up to RCA & radio, ALONE, this go around!!
P.s. "deeply in the red"? REALLY??? haven't gotten around to check RCA's spreadsheets, but really can't imagine so....

I was basing my "in the red comment" on something I picked up about the break even point for an album usually being gold. Sorry if this is too negative, but wanted to clarify where I was coming from. I will not bring up this negative stuff again here, and agree it is better to try to be joyful about someone as joyful as Adam.

Ah, the stuff we read on the net! Not sure what kind of publication you picked that up from (would like to give it a read, though), but Jordin Sparks' last album "Battlefield", which released in July 2009, sold 177,000 copies in the US by July 2010 but because of her int'l sales (UK, Ireland, Oz mostly, she has a smaller int'l presence than Adam), she's managed to sell roughly half a million worldwide, up to date. Now, she's working on her 3rd studio album, in addition to her acting, clothing line, Broadway and Fragrance endeavors.
Guess what I'm trying to say is, isn't it too soon to be so "depressed" about TSP's final outcome?! Trust me, I'm no "rainbow & puppies" any regulars on this thread will tell you that, but, the whole point being a fan, not just an Adam fan, is to support and enjoy the artist and ride along on the roller-coaster (sometimes, with white knuckles), isn't it?

ITA! This is exactly what I meant in the main thread when I said RCA needed to have something different up their sleeve. PLL is a nice start, but they (RCA and DMG) need to be creative in getting Adam out in the public eye. IMO a collab on someone else's album would be cool as well as guest spots on various TV shows or small roles in movies. I hope they are looking into other ways to promote the upcoming single and the album, including keeping the international promo going! Come on RCA- think OUTSIDE OF THE BOX! ;D

I think Home at the Olympics is an example of how a really good promo spot can create big returns. I think PLL is a fantastic chance. Just because I said he was in the red doesn't mean I am not very bullish about this single and its chances. I can see it wiping out the red ink with the right promo. Adam is very clever and I think his management is too. Also, he is mega talented and just completely fascinating as we here will all aver, so I am sure he and his team will come up with some great things..

The Queen + Adam Lambert Moscow concert is ranked #6 in Top 10 concert revenue this year in Russia, which converts to over 2 million US dollars. I'm guessing the Poland concert is probably close to that neighborhood as well. Not too shabby for 2 days work! :D

I won't be updating the stats on iTunes Japan & Amazon Japan daily as I've been during the past promo week. But, I will still check the chart stats on Oricon & Billboard Japan on Weds.
G'night!
