Mys*&@^#r, or anyone else--I've been meaning to ask forever: What do people on Atop mean by "Adam's sound" or "it doesn't represent the album?" The songs on both albums are so varied. Except to me most of the dance songs sound pretty similar because--well, they are. Or is it the lyrics you are referring to? To me, OOL doesn't sound like TP, Cuckoo doesn't sound like Broken English, Kickin In doesn't sound like Chokehold, PTL doesn't sound like Underneath or BTIKM or Naked Love. I'm not being snide--I really don't understand what people are talking about when they say a song doesn't represent Adam. I don't think I could choose a song off of FYE that represents that album either. They are mostly very different from one another (except for Pick U Up and IIHY, which are the same speed of dance song and in the same key). to me - both BTIKM and NCOE are the ONLY two BORING to death songs on the album, despite the fact that NCOE is supposed to be a dance song; both with pretentious message; not to mention that some spots in NCOE sound like howling at the moon. I am ready to be stoned to death now ;D " "Death tracks" is the perfect term for these two "I must skip" tracks. I kind of liked WWFM and IIHY, and grew to love them both because of the Adam spirit in them live. I have seen Adam do NCOE and BTIKM a number of times and they do not do anything for me. (Although I do find myself singing along,) ETA: ITA Adam is so playing with us. But I left the roller coaster and got on the crazy train, so does not bother me. I am so sure that he has something going with Idol. Remember, I said crazy train, emphasis on crazy.

They are mostly very different from one another (except for Pick U Up and IIHY, which are the same speed of dance song and in the same key). FYE, "Yes" is very eclectic with a range from very pop to rock. Trespassing, except for NCOE, has an underlying funkiness. It's the bass line in most of the songs. Gives the songs a "nasty" (in a good way) funky vibe. It's what he said he worked on so hard to get and it's what he came up with when he first worked with Pharrell. (Not counting the bonus tracks here because a few of them are not very funky, like Take Back & Map. Both of which I love anyway!) Okay, thanks. I guess I'm not atuned to the funk except in Shady. I hear "thump, thump" of the bass drum in the dance songs but not a funky bass line. Really don't hear it in the dark half. Maybe I don't know what it is?????

And I think anyone that's been in a long relationship can really relate to the lyrics. I also think it fits the album, whereas I don't think NCOE does. NCOE has always sounded like a ballad that was remixed to me.

I am ready to be stoned to death now ;D Hey why stop now? April 11 to Aug 20.... at least continue to bash NCOE until the autumnal equinox. 8-) Will stare at the cover and will try not to think about the idiocy of the US radio. My sincere hope that everyone outside of the US will get another single. OK... wil concentrate on the gorgeousness of the cover ;D Also: I solemnly promiss from now on to hold all my feelings in regards to this single choice to myself. :D Actually all the regular NCOE wah wah was a blessing in disguise - led me to realize my complex requesting wasn't fun in the current environment AND then NCOE found a home in dance clubs without us - which must please Adam as it's an audience he very much wanted to reach. Silver linings and all. Please return to regular programming.
