I have spent my career in Marketing and Advertising and I have learned, “Everyone can write the perfect ad.” Or so my emails tell me.

Or course, most the CEOs, executives, people who “know”, and customers ideas are not so good. But every now and then, the “brilliance” comes from a CEO (or his/her spouse), a person who “knows”, or a customer. I have seen it really happen.

So because I have personally observed it, I have tried to replicate this miracle of the "uncommon" man/women in the crowd. I have decided to give you ultimate power.

Yes, you are now the head of RCA records!! Congrats! Your private jet and masseuse and Champaign awaits – but you have one quick, not too important decision to make before you board your jet – what should Adam Lambert’s next single be? (Your aide now hands you a detailed situation analysis, research findings and other important decision support. You grab the packet. Bark your orders quickly and board your jet.) The people on the tarmac hear you say, “Seriously, your are wasting my time with this s#(*! Clearly, there is only one choice, the next single will be ….. [drowned out by engine noise.]

The fans and press all say in unison, “What did you say?”

Well if you were President of RCA Records, and it was your call, what would you say? Post away! (Unless my crafting of this article finally summons the Gods of RCA Logistics to reveal the actual single title.)

Honestly, any of the 10 tracks left on Trespassing will have my support as a single. So I think this is a win-win-win-win-win-win-win-win-win-win proposition.




American Idol Season 12 Judges Rumored To Be...

Mariah Carey is in.

And... well... that's about all we know when it comes to American Idol Season 12.

With rumors citing everyone from Adam Lambert to Nick Jonas to Diddy as potential judges, a new report says the show has settled on the three artists it would like to sit down alongside Carey.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers are hoping to cover every musical gamut, from rap to country to Latin. Along those lines, its top choices would be:

Nicki Minaj
Keith Urban
Enrique Igelsias

One hold-up, however, is that Minaj is the new Pepsi spokesperson and Idol is notorious for its overt advertising deal with Coca-Cola.

Moreover, this quartet would be VERY expensive. Carey is already set to earn $17 million for one year of work and luring in other major names such as the ones listed above would require individual salaries into the eight figures.

But that's a problem for Fox. You tell us: How would you feel about Minaj, Urban and Igelsias as American Idol judges?

The 2012 Do Something Awards, which honor the nation's "best, young world-changers," are presented Aug. 19 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. "Glee" stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith as well as Broadway favorite Neil Patrick Harris are among the nominees.

The 2012 ceremony, which will be broadcast Aug. 21 at 9 PM ET on VH1, is hosted by Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield and Lamorne Morris, who co-star in the Fox comedy "New Girl." The evening includes musical performances, and one "do-er" will receive a grand prize of $100,000 for his or her cause. 



Among the nominees are "Glee" and "Modern Family" for TV Show; Michele, Zooey Deschanel and Betty White for Female TV Star; Monteith, Harris, Ryan Seacrest, Don Cheadle and Ian Somerhalder for Male TV Star; Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson for Female Movie Star; Andrew Garfield and Channing Tatum for Male Movie Star; Adam Lambert and Taylor Swift for Music Artist; Ellen DeGeneres and Russell Brand for Comedian; and Somerhalder, Kristen Bell and Lady Gaga for Twitter accounts.

Taylor Swift
Taylor performed "Speak Now," a benefit for victims of recent tornadoes in the United States southeast, donated $250k to Nick Saban's charity Nick's Kids, and is active with charities like The Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Habitat for Humanity.

One Direction
The UK band donated a recipe to The Dish For a Wish Cookbook to raise money for Rays of Sunshine, a charity that makes wishes come true for terminally and seriously ill children.
