American Idol's' Summer of Covers: Adam Lambert Does Bob Marley, Kelly Clarkson Takes on 'Call Me Maybe' (Video)
Graduating from a show like American Idol, it's a given that alumni will know how to deliver a stellar performance, whether of a song of their own a classic or a recent hit. But during summer 2012, the cover count has been especially high.
Winners Kelly Clarkson and Kris Allen both delivered reinterpretations of current hits, while Carrie Underwood and Adam Lambert went 70s and 80s retro.
Adam Lambert - "Is This Love?" (Bob Marley)
As tempting as it is to stream his entire concert with Queen on a daily basis, the season eight runner-up gave fans a new performance to gawk over this week. Paying homage to the late, great Bob Marley, Lambert delivered a jammin' cover of "Is This Love?" from Sydney, Australia's Take 40 Lounge on Aug. 22. Grab a cold beverage, some tanning lotion, sit back and enjoy.

So there was an interview with Take40 on Thurs (Oz time), but it won't air until later. Nothing happens on Friday and Sat (Oz time). On Sunday there will be a CD signing event and the Guerrilla gig but this won't be aired on the day either. Adam may go back to the States on Monday? Do I get it right? But if he leaves late Sunday and crosses the international dateline, will he arrive in LA on Sunday? So he would be present (though jet lagged) on Monday... for whatever announcements, etc. might be pending? :  |

This one sounds the best - there's not much choice though. The crowd was singing even louder than this vid picks up, so we're lucky. Published on Aug 22, 2012 by KiwiGlambert Oh great thanks! I am really puzzled that Take40 Lounge tweeted that Adam's management requested that they take down their video, and now Adam has tweeted a YT rip of the same one? Something fishy......... Anyway, I am so entralled and mesmerized by this song, I had never heard it before, much have watched this a bazillion times in the last 3 days. Can somebody please post the orginial Bob Marley YT, just want to watch that one and see what the differences are. Thanks! |

Before I knew about the Melbourne gig, I figured he'd be home today But I think Monday is a good guess. Most flights from OZ to LAX leave morning or early afternoon, so he could be back in LA early that day. ETA: He will arrive in LA 3 hours BEFORE whatever time he left. It's a king of magic! |

I'm going to take a minute and to a little self-pimping ;D If you are ever looking for an old article or performance of Adam's that's happened since Adamtopia began please check the Monthly RoundUps. There is lots of good stuff in them. I've tried to include a key word in the title to make things easier to find. And Mainepf did a heck of a job on all the Queen+Adam Lambert material and she's continued to update those posts. If anyone takes a look in there and has any suggestions on how it could be made better, I'd love it if you would PM me your ideas Thanks tina I was looking for some stuff on Adamtopia 1 the other day, maybe a couple of weeks ago, anyway, I couldn't find it, and neither could the internet., has it been taken down? I went from the links here in one of the round up threads, or maybe it was 4M's archive thread. |
